General information about the bracket for the via GO
The bracket for the via GO is designed for combination with standard and lightweight wheelchairs with a frame tube diameter of 25 mm / 1 inch. Depending on the seat width, there are different pre-mounted brackets.
For wheelchairs to which this standard bracket cannot be attached, there are optional extensions depending on the wheelchair. For these cases, please observe the mounting instructions enclosed with these extensions.

Preparing the mounting of the bracket for via GO

Preparing the wheelchair and getting parts ready

  • Align the wheelchair.
  • Tighten the two knee lever brakes.
  • Get the following parts ready:
    • Bracket for the drive unit
    • Meter stick/tape measure
    • Allen wrench SW5
    • Torque wrench

Determine the height of the bracket

  • Measure the distance A from the floor to the lower frame tube [5] of the wheelchair. alber-via-GO-V24-Invacare- \(14\)

Example:
The distance A from the floor to the lower edge of the lower frame tube [5] of the wheelchair is 232 mm. Therefore, screw the adapter [3] to the outer clamp [2] at position 4 and 5.alber-via-GO-V24-Invacare-

Mount and adjust the bracket for the via GO on the wheelchair

Attention! Do not damage the spokes of the wheelchair wheels or the lower frame tube of the wheelchair when mounting the screws of the bracket of the drive unit!

Mount the bracket on the wheelchairalber-via-GO-V24-Invacare-
\(6\)

  • Mount each of the two screws on the holders [3] with a torque wrench as specified in chapter 3.2.
  • Use an Allen key to unscrew the screws from the inner clamps [1] and the outer clamps [2].
  • Fold the inner clamp [1] on one side of the bracket of the drive unit vertically upwards.
  • Lift this side of the bracket of the drive unit until you can fold the inner clamp [1] down. Now the two clamps [1 and 2] must enclose the lower frame tube [5] (see illustration).
  • Tighten the screw of the inner and outer clamps [1 and 2] only slightly with an Allen key.
  • Mount the other side of the bracket on the other lower frame tube of the wheelchair as described.

Set the point of contact of via GOalber-via-GO-V24-Invacare-
\(7\)

  • Attach the via GO to the bracket of the drive unit as described in the instructions for use.
  • The contact point P of the via GO drive wheel should be between the contact points of the drive wheels of the wheelchair, tolerance depending on the wheelchair approx. +/- 50 mm. The distance B of the inner and outer clamps [1 and 2] to the rear frame tubes [4] or the axle mounts should be the same on both sides of the wheelchair. If the contact point P of the drive wheel of the via GO meets the above require-ments: Tighten the screws of the inner and outer clamps [1 and 2] with a torque wrench and a tightening torque of 8 Nm.

If the contact point P of the via GO drive wheel is outside the tolerance range or / and the distance B is unequal:alber-via-GO-V24-Invacare-
\(8\)

  • Use an Allen key to loosen the screws of the inner and outer clamps [1 and 2].
  • Move the inner and outer clamps [1 and 2] on the lower frame tubes [5] of the wheelchair until the contact point P meets the requirements.
  • Tighten the screws of the inner and outer clamps [1 and 2] using a torque wrench and a tightening torque of 8 Nm.

Adjust the screws of the push bars
The contact point of the via GO drive wheel must be located centrally between the contact points of the drive wheels [8] of the wheelchair.
If the contact point of the via GO drive wheel is centered between the contact points of the drive wheels [8] of the wheelchair:alber-via-GO-V24-Invacare-
\(9\)

  • Tighten the screws of the push bars [7] with a torque wrench and a tightening torque of 8 Nm.
