Product Usage Instructions
Brewing Coffee
Note: Clean your coffee maker before the first use. See “Cleaning your coffee maker” for instructions. You may notice smoke or a slight odor during the first few uses, but this is normal and will dissipate.
-
Fill the carafe with cool water, then pour it into the
water reservoir. Do not fill the water reservoir above the MAX fill line. -
Place a paper filter in the filter basket.
-
Add the manufacturer’s recommended amount of coffee for the amount of water you added, increasing or decreasing it depending on your personal taste.
-
Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
-
Push the power switch to the ON position.
The switch lights red and the brew cycle starts.
Pausing to serve
If the carafe is removed from the warming plate while coffee is brewing, the
brewed coffee will not flow until the carafe is placed back on the warming
plate. Allow the carafe to fill with at least one or two cups of coffee before
removing.
Keeping your coffee warm
After the brew cycle is done, the warming plate stays hot to keep your coffee
warm. There is no automatic off setting. Push the power switch to the OFF
position when the carafe is empty.
Caution: Leaving the coffee maker on for extended periods could damage
the carafe and the coffee maker, and could cause a fire hazard.
Brewing a second pot
Turn off the coffee maker, then allow it to cool for ten minutes before
brewing a second pot of coffee.

POWER CORD SAFETY TIPS
DO NOT OPERATE THE COFFEE MAKER IF THE POWER CORD APPEARS TO BE DAMAGED, OR IF
THE COFFEE MAKER WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
- A short power cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the coffee maker.
- The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
- Never pull or yank on the cord or the coffee maker.
- To insert the plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into the outlet.
- To disconnect the coffee maker, grasp the plug and remove it from the outlet. Do not pull on the cord.
- Before each use, inspect the cord for cuts and abrasion marks. If any are found, the coffee maker should be serviced and the cord replaced.
- Never wrap the cord tightly around the coffee maker, as this could stress the cord where it enters the coffee maker and cause it to fray and break.
POLARIZED PLUG
This coffee maker has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug and try again. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
