You should read this user manual carefully before using the appliance.
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing this Hendi appliance. Before using the appliance
for the first time, please read this manual carefully, paying particular
attention to the safety requtations outlined below,
Safety regulations

This appliance is intended for buffet and household use.

The appliance must only be used for the purpose for which it was intended and designed. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage caused by incorrect operation and improper use.

Keep the appliance and electrical plug away from water and any other liquids. In the event that the appliance should fall into water, immediately remove plug from the socket and do not use until the appliance has been checked by a certified technician. Failure to follow these instructions could cause a risk to lives.

Never attempt to open the casing of the appliance yourself.

Do not insert any objects in the casing of the appliance.

Do not touch the plug with wet or damp hands.
Danger of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the applrance yourself. in case of malfunctions, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnet only. -
Never use a damaged appliance! Disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet and contact the retailer if it is damaged.

Warning! Do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.

Regutarly check the power plug and cord for any damage. If the power plug or power cord 1S damaged, it must be replaced by a service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid danger or injury.

Make sure the cord does not come in contact with sharp or hot objects and keep it away fram open fire. To pull the plug out of the socket, always pull on the plug and not on the cord.

Ensure that the cord lor extension cord] is positioned so that it will not cause a trip hazard.

Always keep an eye on the appliance when in use.

Warning! As long as the plug is in the socket the appliance ts connected to the power source.

Turn off the appliance before pulling the plug out of the socket.
Never carry the appliance by the cord. -
Do nat use any extra devices that are nat supplied along with the appliance.

Qnly connect the appliance to an electrical outlet with the voltage and frequency mentioned on the appliance Label.

Connect the power plug to an easily accessible electrical outlet so that in case at emergency the appliance can be unplugged immediately. To completely switch off the appliance pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet.

Always turn the appliance off before disconnecting the plug.

Never use accessories other than those recommended by the manufacturer, Failure to do so could pose a safety risk to the user and could damage the appliance. Only use original parts and accessories.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons [including children] with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or tack of experience and knowledge.

This appliance must not be used by children under any circumstances.

Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

Always disconnect the appliance from the mains if it is left unattended or is not in use, and before assembly, disassembly or cleaning.

Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
Special safety precautions
- Be careful not to deform the inner pan and avoid rough handling. Deforming of the inner pan will adversely effect the cooking and keep warm performance of the cooker.
- Place the appliance on a stable, honzontat and level surface.
- Always put the inner pan in the appliance first before you plug in the electrical power outlet.
- Do not use the inner pan if it is deformed.
- The accessible surfaces of the inner pan may become hot during operation. Always touch the handle only,
- Beware of hot steam coming out of the steam vent during cooking or out of the appliance when you open the lid. Keep hands and face away from the appliance to avoid the steam.
- Do not cover or obstruct the steam vent.
- Keep the appliance away from any hot surfaces and open flames. Protect the appliance against heat, dust, direct sunlight. moisture, dripping and splashing water.
- Do not place heavy articles on top of the appliance. Do not place objects with open sourc- es of fire {e.9. candles} on top or beside the appliance. Do not place objects filled with water le.g. vases} on or near the appliance.
- Do not exceed the 1.8L / 10 CUP water level indication on the inside of the inner pan to prevent overflow.
- Let the appliance cool down completely before storing or cleaning.
- Only use the supplied rice scoop, a plastic or wood scoop to take nce out of the appliance. Avoid to use metal scoop as this might damage the coating of the inner pan.
- Do not leave the rice scoop or other objects in the inner pan while keeping warm function is active.
- Do not use the “keep warm” function for warming up cooked rice.
- For safety purpose, do not use “keep werm” function for more than 12 hrs or overnight. This function is just for temporarily or short time of keeping warm only.
Intended use
- The appliance is intended for buffet and house-hold use.
- The appliance is designed only for rice cooking and keeping the temperature of the cooked rice. Any other use may lead to damage of the appli-ance or personal injury.
- Operating the apptiance for any other purpose shall be deemed a misuse of the device. The user shall be solely liable for improper use of the de-vice.
Preparations before using for the first time
- Check to make sure the appliance is undamaged. In case of any damage. contact your supplier immediately and do NOT use the appliance.
- Take out all the accessories such as measuring cup. rice scoop and silicone non stick pan pad. Remove all the packing material and protection film (if applicable)
- Clean the parts of the appliance thoroughly be-fore using for the first time (See “Cleaning and maintenance” session)
- Place the appliance on a Level and steady surface, unless mentioned otherwise.
- Make sure there is enough clearance around the appliance for ventilation purposes.
- Position the appliance in such a way that the plug is accessible at all times.
How to keep cooked rice warm and tasty?
- Keeping cooked rice warm or using the ‘Keep Warm’ Function for more than 5 hours may cause discolouration or generate an objectionable odour The sooner rice is served, the better it will taste.
- There is a minimum quantity of rice to keep warm. When using the keep warm cycle, be sure you have at least 4 bowls full or 6 bowls full of cooked rice in the pan
- To prevent a dry, discoloured effect and objection-able odour of the cooked rice, keep the outer lid perfectly dosed after serving rice.
- Do not leave the rice scoop or other utensils in the pan during the keep warm cycle.
- Do not use the keep warm feature to reheat left-over cold rice
Moisture collector
Detaching of the interception tank:
- Grab both sides of the interception tank and pull. Attaching of the interception tank:
- insert the upper edge into the cannelure of the interception tank and press it on. After every use the water drop-interception tank should be detached and emptied!
Precautions
- The appliance does not function if the pan is not in the cooker
- Always keep the bottom of the pan clean and dry. Any res- ‘clues between the bottom of the pan and the heater wilt cause the cooker to malfunction
- Do not attempt to press the switch by force if the switch button cannot be pressed in the cooking position. The switch normally remains in that po-sition when the pan is not in the cooker or lust after cooking has been com pitted.
- The appliance should be placed on a stable sur-face. Do not expose towater. steam or direct heat
- Do not cover the lid with anything when the rice cooker is in use.
- Do not use the pan directly on open fire
- Do not immerse the cooker in water and avoid putting the cooker near fire.
- Hendi supplies this cooker with an additional burnt proof griddle that should be put at the bot-tom of the pan and avoids sticking of rice
How to cook rice
-
Measure rice
with the measuring cup Wash rice in another bowl until water is rel-altvety clear Bran may give an uppteasant odour to cooked rice Wash rice thoroughly and quickly to effectivety remove the bran -
Caution! Do not fill rice and water over the 10 cups for LOCI that marked in the inner pan to avoid spillage.
Note The markings represent the amount of water to be added in relation to the amount of cups rice to be cooked. E g. If you add 10 cups for 1 811 of rice in the inner pan, lilt water until the marking 0′. For more or less me. Mt water according to the markings into the inner pan. -
Wipe dry & place the pan in the rice cooker. En-sure the pan is directly in contact with the heat-ing plate by turning it slightly form the right to the left until it fits properly.
Wipe dry the outside of the pan before use. A wet pan may cause cracking noise while cook-ing and may damage the unit -
Close the lid until it clicks If the lid is not closed securely the cooking result will be effected.

Attach the power cord to the cooker and then connect it to the power supply Press down the switch The red ‘Cooking’ light wilt light to indi-cate the start of the cooking process.

When the rice is ready the switch will pop up. The Keep Warm’ indicator will light up to indi-cate that the Keep Warm function has started.

After the switch button pops up. leave the lid for at least 15 minutes on the appliance to steam the rice The rice wilt be fluffier

Press the button for opening the lid and then open the bd.

Scoop and mix the rice well with the supplied scoop or a wooden or plastic scoop. Do not use metal scoop.

Alter taking some rice. close the lid and keep the rice warm If you want the rice to coot down a little. open the lid and unplug the power cord from the power outlet to leave the rice for cool-ing in the ginner pan.

This rice cooker is suitable for up to maximum 10 cups (180 ml) of dry rice.
Attention!
During the cooking process, hot steam escapes from the steam vent. Danger of
scalding! Do not cover the appliance during use with a cloth or other objects.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Always remove the plug from the socket before cleaning the appliance.
- Beware: Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid!
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth (water with mild detergent).
- Never use aggressive cleaning agents or abra-sives. Do not use any sharp or pointed objects. Do not use petrol or solvents! Clean with a damp cloth and detergent if necessary. Do not use abrasive materials.
- Clean the ventilation slots (if applicable) with the vacuum cleaner
- Let the appliance cool down before cleaning.
- Remove the pan and the lid, from the cooker and clean them with water and mild dish washer. Rinse thoroughly dry with a soft cloth
- Hendi supplies this cooker with an audatonal burnt proof griddle that should be put at the bot-tom of the pan and avoids sticking of rice. Griddle and inner pan are not dishwasher resistant.
Accessories
- If in any case grains of rice or other residues may stick to the heating plate, these must be removed to prevent improper cooking. To remove the cooked rice at the heating plate you may use soft steel wool. Then, smooth out and polish the spot for good contact between the heating plate and the bottom of the pan. Improper cleaning of the rice cooker may cause unpleasant odours.
- Any residue of vinegar or salt may cause the pan coating to corrode
- When serving rice, be sure to use a plastic or wooden rice scoop (supplied by Hendi). Do not use a metal scoop, spoon. spatula, nor place spoons, fork, rice bowls etc in the pan.
- The non-stick coating may discolour after re-peated uses, but it will not effect the non-stick properties.
Troubleshooting
If the appliance does not function property or if the quality of the cooked
rice is not sufficient This may be probably due to the different kinds at the
rice.
Consult the table below. If you are unable to solve the problem, please
contact the supplier/service provider
