How to Update the NVR firmware using a USB flash drive

Getting Started

Step 1: Download the Firmware file

1. Go to https://www.seco-larm.com/product-support/
2. Under “CCTV” Section, click “Firmware Update”.
3. Click “Click Here to Download the latest Firmware Update.”
4. Make note of the filename and where the file was saved.

Step 2: Unzip the file

1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to where the file was saved.
2. Right click on the downloaded file and choose “Extract all…”
3. Click “Extract”
4. Double click on the newly created folder in step 3. (In the above example, the folder name is “V8.2.3.2-20230607_2_9342_9334_230609”)
5. Double click on the folder name “V8.2.3.2-20230607_2_9342_9334_230609”
6. Copy both the SW and the INFO file to a USB flash drive. The files should be similar to what is shown in the image below.

Step 3: Upgrade firmware via NVR Local Interface

1. Plug the flash drive that has the SW and INFO file to the USB port on the front panel of the NVR, OR
   Use the USB port on the back panel of the NVR.

2. After entering password to unlock the NVR, click on the left bottom corner to open Start menu.

3. Select “Setup”

4. The Setup Menu will be displayed in the middle of the screen.

5. Under “System”, click “Maintenance”

6. Click “Upgrade” then “Select File”.

7. Choose the SW file (Name should be “N8XXX_V2301…”), then click OK

8. Click “Upgrade”

9. Enter the NVR admin password.

10. Click “Authenticate”.

NOTE: THE UPDATE MAY TAKE 5~10 MINUTES. DO NOT POWER OFF THE NVR OR REMOVE THE USB FROM NVR DURING FIRMWARE UPGRADE.
