Flow-Rate Indicator
The Flow-Rate Indicator is an LED bar on the top of the display. It helps you
visualize your espresso flow-rate in real time and spot channeling during
brewing. The indicator measures flow-rate with lit LEDs starting from 0.1 g
per second on the left to 3.4 g per second on the right. When the flow-rate
exceeds 5.0 g per second, the last three LEDs will light up with enhanced
brightness, indicating a high flow-rate. During an espresso brew, the Flow-
Rate Indicator will display the highest peak flow-rate of this brew with a
single bright LED. The Flow-Rate Indicator can be activated in all modes. You
can turn the indicator on or off in the advanced settings menu.
You can also enable markings on the Flow-Rate Indicator for easier reading of
the flow-rate value. Each marking indicates an increment of 0.5 g/s for the
current flow-rate, and the highest marking is 4.0 g/s. Note: To enable this
function, please see Flow-Rate Indicator in the Configuration section (p.15).

2. Default: Flow-Rate Indicator enabled. The Flow-Rate Indicator on the top
of the display turns on and visualizes your espresso flow-rate in real time.
3. Grad: Flow-Rate Indicator and Flow-Rate Markers enabled. The markers will
turn on when brewing. Every marker represents a 0.5g/s increment in flow-rate.
4. Off: Flow-Rate Indicator disabled.
Average Flow-Rate Setting [ Avg.FLo ] 1. The default setting is On.
2. On: Average Flow-Rate enabled. When brewing is complete and the cup is
removed from the scale, the display will show the espresso summary with the
beverage weight and the average
flow-rate of brewing. 3. Off: Average Flow-Rate disabled. When brewing is
complete and the cup is removed, the

current weight.
Weight Stable Indicator Setting [ StAbLE.d ] 1. The default setting is Off.
2. On: Weight Stable Indicator enabled. The Weight Stable Indicator on the
bottom left of the
display lights up when the weight is stable. 3. Off: Weight Stable Indicator
disabled.
Auto-Reset Setting [ Auto_rES ] 1. After a cup is removed, the timer and
weight will automatically reset. This setting gives you options on how long to
wait for the reset. It enables the user to pull successive shots of espresso
quickly in the three Auto-Start modes.
2. The number indicates the timeout value in seconds of timer reset after a
cup is removed.
Pre-Infusion Time Out Setting [ PrE_inFu ] 1. Determines when the scale times
out in Auto-Start mode and two Auto-Start modes when the timer is manually
started. This is most useful for long pre-infusion times and resolves the
timeout issue that sometimes happens for slower pre-infusions.
2. The number indicates the time in seconds it will take for the scale to
reset if no espresso flow or weight is detected.
Auto-Start Sensitivity Setting [ SEnSE ] 1. Minimum weight is decreased for
more sensitivity. This is ideal for slower espresso shots in the modes.
Stability depends on environmental noise.
2. The number indicates the sensitivity of flow detection in the modes. A
smaller value indicates higher sensitivity, but is recommended only for stable
working environments.
18
Weighing Resolution Setting [ rESoL ] 1. The Weighing Resolution is
automatically set to [ dEFAUL ]: the division is 0.1 g/0.002 oz. 2. Tap the
Tare button to switch the Weighing Resolution between [ dEFAUL ] and [ hiGh ].
3. When the Weighing Resolution is set to high, the division will be 0.01
g/0.0005 oz. The default
display will show [ 0.00 ] when the scale is set to grams, and [ 0.0000 ] for
ounces in Weighing Mode.
Note: After setting Weighing Resolution to high, the default display will show
[ 0:00 0.00 ] with timer in Dual Display Mode and Auto Start Modes.
Weighing Filter Setting [ FiLtEr ] 1. The Weighing Filter Setting determines
the speed at which the load receptor responds to weight and determines the
weighing value. The larger the number, the more stable but slower the weighing
result will be. The number shown on the LED display indicates the current
filter setting.
2. Press the Tare button to change the parameter.
Zero Tracking Setting [ trAcE ] 1. Zero Tracking is a function for
automatically maintaining the zero indication within certain limits. 2. Off:
It is not recommended to turn off Zero Tracking because the zero indication
can drift easily as
the room temperature changes. 3. 0.5 d~3 d: For example, for standard
resolution each division is 0.1 g, 3 d = 0.3 g. When Zero
Tracking is set to be 3 d, any initial weight between ± 0.3 g on the weighing
pan will be zeroed out gradually. 4. 2 d is recommended in general for the
Acaia Lunar.
Zero Range Setting [ 0.rAnGE ] 1. The Zero Range Setting determines the range
for which the Tare button executes zero operation instead of tare operation.
2. When Zero Range is set to 2, the range for zero-setting will be 2% of the
capacity, i.e., ± 40 g for Acaia Lunar. By pressing the Tare button, any
weight within ± 40 g is zeroed out by zero operation while any weight that
lies outside the range is tared out by tare operation.
3. If Zero Range is set to 100, the range for zero-setting will be 100% of
the capacity, i.e., ± 2 kg for Acaia Lunar. Therefore, instead of tare
operation, zero operation would be executed in this setting whenever the Tare
button is pressed.
Notice: The difference between zero operation and tare operation is that zero
operation would simply ignore the weight and display as 0 while tare operation
would deduct the weight from the weighing result. However, zero operation does
not increase the scale capacity.
Bluetooth Setup Setting [ bt_SEt ] 1. Off: Bluetooth disabled. The scale does
not allow any Bluetooth connection. 2. On: Bluetooth enabled. The scale allows
Bluetooth connection. The user may connect the scale
with Acaia apps.
Reset to Default Setting [ rESEt.d ] Select [ YES ] to reset all settings to
default value.
