Precautions for safety

The meanings of indications

WARNING

  • After completion of installation, perform trial operation to check for any problems. Explain method of use and maintenance to the customer by following the descriptions in the manual. Ask customer to keep this manual at accessible place for future reference.

WARNING

  • Only a qualified installer or qualified service person is allowed to do installation work. If installation is carried out by an unqualified individual, fire or electric shock may result.
  • Perform installation work reliably according to this Installation Manual. Incomplete installation may cause electric shock, fire or abnormal operation.
  • Electrical work must be performed by a qualified installer or qualified service person in accordance with this Installation Manual. The work must satisfy all local, national and international regulations. Inappropriate work may result in electric shock or fire.
  • Connect the specified wires firmly and clamp them securely so that external force applied to the wires does not affect the connector pins. Improper wire connection or clamping may result in fire or malfunction.
  • Do not disassemble, modify, repair or move the product yourself. Doing so may cause fire, electric shock, injury or water leaks.
  • Ask a qualified installer or qualified service person to do any repairs or to move the product.

Nomenclature and functions

  1. External analog input terminal (TB3)
    Changes air flow, operating mode, and temperature settings depending on resistance value from 0 to 140 Ω. Do not apply voltage or current to this terminal.

  2. External digital input terminal (TB2)
    Connect for external trouble input or prohibition of local input.

  3. External digital input
    Switch for voltage ON (WET) and voltage OFF (DRY)
    (Factory default: Voltage OFF (DRY))

  4. Switch for setting signal output (Factory default: 0)
    Adjust to signal that you want to extract and set the switch.

  5. Connector for connecting to indoor circuit board (CN1)
    Use the transmission cable provided with this connector to connect to the circuit board in the indoor unit. (Indoor unit side: Red (CN521). On this control kit: Red (CN1).)

  6. Switch for function select (SW4)
    (Factory default: OFF) Bit 1: Switches inversion of output logic of signal output 3 (OUT3) Bit 2: Not used (do not set)

  7. FILTER connector (CN3)
    Attach the short plug provided if connecting a humidifier to the TB1 terminal.

  8. EXCT connector (CN4)
    Can thermo. OFF by shorting this connector.

  9. Signal output terminal block (TB1)
    Connect when extracting output signal.

Installation procedure

Ceiling Type

  • (RAV-SM7CTP, RAV-SM8CTP, RAV-RM**1CTP, RAV-HMCTP*, MMC-AP*7HP, MMC-AP8HP*, MMC-UP**HP)

  1. Use the (3) card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
  2. Use the (2) connector assembly (A) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor control circuit board, then run the wires and fix it in place with two cord clamps.

REQUIREMENT
Remove the clamp filter of (2) Connector assembly (A).

Floor Standing Type

  • (RAV-RM1FT, RAV-HM**FT*, MMF-AP*6H, MMF-UPH*)

  1. Use the (3) card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
  2. Use the (2) connector assembly (A) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor control circuit board, then run the wires and fix it in place with two cord clamps.

REQUIREMENT
Remove the clamp filter of (2) Connector assembly (A).

  • Compact 4-way Cassette Type (RAV-SM7MUT, RAV-RM1MUT, RAV-HMMUT*, MMU-AP*7MH, MMU-UPMH*)

  1. Use the (7) card edge spacers (for Compact 4-way Cassette Type) (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
  2. Use the (2) connector assembly (A) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor control circuit board, then run the wires and fix it in place with the cord clamp.

REQUIREMENT
For MMU model, remove the clamp filter of (2) Connector assembly (A).

4-Way Cassette Type (RAV-GM1UT, RAV-HMUT*, MMU-UPH, MMU- AP**H)

  1. Use the (3) card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
  2. Use the (2) connector assembly (A) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor unit control circuit board, then run the wires.

REQUIREMENT
Remove the clamp filter of (2) Connector assembly (A).

1-way Cassette Type (MMU-UP**SH)

  1. Use the (3) card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
  2. Use the (2) connector assembly (A) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor control circuit board, then run the wires and fix it in place with the cord clamp.

1-way Cassette Type (RAV-HM*U1TP, MMU-UPYHP*, MMU-AP**YHP)

When there is no Option P.C. board (Air purifier kit)

  1. Use the (3) card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
    • If there is an Option P.C. board (Air purifier kit), connect the (2) connector assembly (A) to CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN21 on the Option P.C. board (Air purifier kit).
    • If there is no Option P.C. board (Air purifier kit), connect the (2) connector assembly (A) to CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor unit control circuit board.

REQUIREMENT

  • Remove the clamp filter of (2) Connector assembly (A).

2-way Cassette Type (MMU-UP**WH)

  1. Use the (3) card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.
  2. Use the (2) connector assembly (A) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application control kit and CN521 on the indoor control circuit board, then run the wires and fix it in place with the cord clamp.
  • Concealed Duct High Static Pressure Type (MMD-AP0726HP, AP0966HP, MMD-UP0721HP, UP0961HP, RAV-SM2244DTP, SM2804DTP)
  • Fresh Air Intake Unit Concealed Duct Type (MMD-UP0721HFP, UP0961HFP, UP1121HFP, UP1281HFP)

  1. Take of the screws A and B then remove the terminal block assembly.
    Use the (3) Card edge spacers (3 pcs) provided with the electrical control box to install the (1) application control kit.

  2. Use the (6) connector assembly (B) (for Concealed Duct High Static Pressure Type) provided to connect CN1 on the (1) application
    control kit and CN505 on the indoor FAN control PC board, then run the wires and fix it in place with three cord clamps.

  3. To connect wiring to Signal output terminal:TB1 or External digital input terminal ;
    TB2 or External analog input terminal;TB3 according application.

    • Please refer to the following page about TB1, TB2 and TB3.
    • For the field wiring, insert it into the grommet for insert the control wires, and pass it through the hole for option wiring of the terminal block assembly, and connect it to the (1) application control kit on the back.
  4. Return the terminal block assembly to the original position without pinching wires. Confirm to hook the claw of terminal block assembly on the right side. Then fix screw A and B.
