BRAZIL VALVE

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. BOTH #4 ORINGS COME INSTALLED IN THE VALVE.
  2. VERY IMPORTANT #3 O-RING SEALS AGAINST THE BOTTOM OF THE VALVE, AS SHOWN IN FIG. A. IF YOU SLIDE IT OVER THE VALVE, FIG B, IT WILL NOT SEAL!. INSTALL INTO THE BOTTOM OF BRAZIL SHUTTLE VAVLE.
  3. FIG. C SHOWS #2 O-RING IS AROUND THE “S” PORT. LOOK INSIDE THE BRAZIL YOU WILL SEE A COUNTER BOARD THAT IT SITS INTO.

BRAZIL VALVE ADAPTER INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. USING 9/16 SOCKET REMOVE THE 2 BOLTS “A” THAT HOLD COVER.
  2. SLIDE ROD COVER “B” AND DISREGARD.
  3. USING SPANNER WRENCH REMOVE PISTON “C” AND DISREGARD.
  4. INSTALL “D” 625-1013 O-RING INTO THE GROOVE.
  5. VERY IMPORTANT, INSTALL “E” 625-1029 O-RING INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE SHUTTLE VALVE. O-RING SEALS ON THE CHAMFER OF THE BRAZIL VALVE ADAPTER.
  6. APPLY LOCTITE TO THE BOLTS. INSTALL BRAZIL VALVE ADAPTER USING 9/16 SOCKET. TORQUE TO 30 FT. LBS..
  7. SHOWN WITH OPTIONAL -6 JIC FITTINGS, “F” 137-9383 AND “G” 137-9384.Hardin-Marine-135-1040-Brazilian-Steering-Manifold-fig- \(3\)

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure you have the following items:
    • 1x Valve, Brazil (Part Number: 135-1040)
    • 1x O-Ring (Part Number: 625-1013)
    • 1x O-Ring (Part Number: 625-1029)
    • 2x O-Ring (Part Number: 625-1113)
    • 2x Fitting, 1/8NPT Male to -6JIC (Part Number: 625-2122)
  2. Both #4 O-rings are pre-installed in the valve.
  3. Take note of the following important steps:
    • The #3 O-ring seals against the bottom of the valve. Refer to Fig. A for correct positioning. Sliding it over the valve (Fig. B) will result in a failed seal.
    • The #2 O-ring is placed around the S port. Look inside the Brazil valve to locate a counter board that it sits into (Fig. C).
  4. Install the valve adapter into the bottom of the Brazil shuttle valve.
  5. If any O-rings need to be replaced, use the O-Ring Service Kit (Part Number: 135-1041).Hardin-Marine-135-1040-Brazilian-Steering-Manifold-fig- \(4\)
