If you are a Windows, Linux, or Android user, your special characters will be on the right side of the key:

If you are a macOS or iOS user, your characters and special keys will be on the left side of the key:

Battery Status Notification

Your keyboard has an LED near the On/Off switch to let you know the battery status. The LED will be green from 100% to 11% and turn red from 10% and below. Turn off the backlighting to continue typing for more than 500 hours when the battery is low.

To charge, plug in the USB-C cable at the top right corner of your keyboard. You can continue typing while it is charging.

Smart backlighting

Your keyboard has an embedded ambient light sensor that reads and adapts the level of backlighting accordingly.

Room brightness Backlight level
Low light – under 100 lux L4 – 50%
High light – over 100 lux L0 – no backlight*

*Backlight is turned OFF.

There are eight total backlight levels. You can change the backlight level at any time with two exceptions: the backlight cannot be turned ON when:

  • the room brightness is high, over 100 lux
  • the keyboard battery is low

Software notifications

Install Logitech Options software to get the most out of your keyboard. You can find more information here.

  • Backlight level notifications

You can see the backlight level changes in real-time.

  • Backlighting disabled
There are two factors that will disable backlighting:

When your keyboard has only 10% of battery left, this message will appear when you try to enable backlighting. If you want the backlight back, plug in your keyboard to charge it.

When the environment around you is too bright, your keyboard will automatically disable backlighting to avoid using it when not needed. This will also allow you to use it longer with backlight in low light conditions. You will see this notification when you try to turn backlighting ON.

  • Low battery

When your keyboard reaches 10% of battery left, backlighting turns OFF and you get a battery notification on the screen.

  • F-Keys switch
When you press Fn + Esc you can swap between the Media keys and F-Keys.
We’ve added a notification so you know when you’ve swapped the keys.

NOTE: By default, the keyboard has direct access to Media Keys.

Logitech Flow

You can work on multiple computers with your MX Keys Mini. With a Flow-enabled Logitech mouse, such as MX Anywhere 3, you can also work and type on multiple computers with the same mouse and keyboard using Logitech Flow technology.

You can use the mouse cursor to move from one computer to the next. MX Keys Mini keyboard will follow the mouse and switch computers at the same time. You can even copy and paste between computers. Q/A

MX Keys Mini Rose and Pale Gray keyboard backlighting changes by itself

Your keyboard is equipped with an ambient light sensor that adapts the keyboard backlight according to the brightness of your room.
There are two default backlight levels that switch automatically:
– If the room starts getting dark (below 100 lux), the keyboard will set the backlighting to level 4. You can of course override this default level and increase or decrease the level.
– When the room is bright, over 100 lux, the backlighting will turn OFF as the contrast is no longer visible, and it won’t drain your battery unnecessarily.
When your keyboard is kept ON, it will detect whenever your hands approach and the backlight will be turned back on. The backlighting won’t turn back on if:
– Your keyboard has no more battery, below 10%.
– If the environment you’re in is too bright.
– If you’ve turned it off manually or using Logitech Options software.

Proximity detection and backlight behavior while charging the MX Keys Mini Keyboard

Your keyboard is equipped with a proximity sensor that detects when your hands hover close to the keyboard.

Proximity detection will not work when the keyboard is charging you have to press a key on the keyboard to turn the backlight on. Turning the keyboard backlight off while charging will help with the charging time.

The backlighting will stay on for five minutes after typing, so if you are working in the dark, the keyboard will not turn off while typing.

Once fully charged and the charging cable is removed, proximity detection will work again.

Logi Bolt does not work or is not recognized

If your device stops responding, first confirm that the Logi Bolt receiver is working properly. Use the steps below:
1. Open  Device Manager  and make sure your product is listed.
2. If the receiver is plugged into a USB hub or extender, try plugging it into a port directly on the computer
3. Windows only —  try a different USB port. If it makes a difference, try updating the motherboard USB chipset driver.
4. If the receiver is Logi Bolt ready, identified by this logo   open Logi Bolt Software and check if the device is found there.
5. If not, follow the steps to connect the device to a Logi Bolt receiver.
6. Try using the receiver on a different computer.
7. If it’s still not working on the second computer, check  Device Manager  to see if the device is recognized.

If your product is still not recognized, the fault is most likely related to the USB receiver rather than the keyboard or mouse. Please contact Customer Support.

Unable to pair to Logi Bolt Receiver

If you’re unable to pair your device to the Logi Bolt receiver, do the following:

STEP A:
1. Make sure the device is found in Devices and Printers. If the device is not there, follow steps 2 and 3.
2. If connected to a USB HUB, USB Extender, or to the PC case, try connecting to a port directly on the computer motherboard.
3. Try a different USB port; if a USB 3.0 port was used previously, try a USB 2.0 port instead.

STEP B:
Open Logi Bolt Software and see if your device is listed there. If it’s not listed, follow the steps to connect the device to a Logi Bolt receiver. See Connect a new device to a Logi Bolt USB receiver for more information.

How can I tell if my device is Logi Bolt ready?

Logi Bolt devices can be recognized by this logo, found on the back of the device next to the Bluetooth logo:

Are Logi Bolt devices compatible with Unifying USB receivers?

Logi Bolt devices are not compatible with Unifying USB receivers, and Unifying devices are not compatible with Logi Bolt USB receivers.

Connect a new device to a Logi Bolt USB receiver

Your Logi Bolt can host up to six devices.
To add a new device to an existing Logi Bolt receiver:
1. Open Logitech Options.
2. Click  Add Device , and then  Add a Bolt device.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
NOTE: If you don’t have Logitech Options you can download it here.
You can determine if your USB receiver is a Logi Bolt by the logo on the bottom right side:

Pair your keyboard with a Logi Bolt receiver

Your device is Logi Bolt compatible and can be connected using the wireless Logi Bolt USB receiver.

  1. Make sure the keyboard is turned on.
The number 1 LED on the Easy-Switch button should blink rapidly. If it doesn’t, press the button for three seconds (long press).

  2. Plug the receiver into a USB port on your computer.

  3. To adapt your keyboard to your operating system:

    • For Mac, press  Fn + O
    • For Windows, press  Fn + P

For information on how to pair a second computer, see Pair to a second computer with Easy- Switch.

Do I need a Bolt receiver to use a device that is Logi Bolt compatible?

No, your device was designed to fully perform through Bluetooth connectivity. Logi Bolt is only recommended for users who work in crowded environments with many other wireless devices.

What operating systems is my keyboard compatible with?

You can find compatibility information for your keyboard on the product’s page on Logitech.com. On the product’s page, scroll down to “SPECS & DETAILS”. You’ll find the operating system compatibility based on your connectivity choice, Bluetooth or USB receiver.

Pair your Bluetooth keyboard to a different device with Easy-Switch

Your keyboard can be paired with up to three different computers using the
Easy-Switch button to change the channel.

1. Select the channel you want and press and hold the Easy-Switch button for three seconds. This will put the keyboard in discoverable mode so that it can be seen by your computer. The LED will start blinking quickly.
2. Open the Bluetooth settings on your computer to complete the pairing. More details here.
3. Once paired, a  short press  on the Easy-Switch button will allow you to switch channels.

Dictation key does not work

First, make sure you have the latest version of Logi Options software installed. You can download the software here.
The dictation feature of your device can be enabled once you have installed the software.

To use dictation:
– Make sure your cursor is on an active text field
– Press the dictation key and start speaking

Mute / unmute microphone does not work

First, make sure you have the latest version of Logitech Options+ or Logitech Options software installed. You can download them here.
The mute and unmute microphone feature of your device can only be enabled once you have installed the software.
Mute/unmute microphone works on a system level, not on an application level. When you press the key to mute, you will see the image shown below on the top right corner of your screen.

This means your system’s microphone is muted. If you are unmuted on a video conferencing app (ex. Zoom or Microsoft Teams) but can see this sign, you will not be heard when speaking. You’ll need to press the mute/unmute once more to be unmuted.

Bluetooth mouse or keyboard not recognized after reboot on macOS (Intel- based Mac) – FileVault

If your Bluetooth mouse or keyboard does not reconnect after a reboot at the login screen and only reconnects after the login, this might be related to FileVault encryption.
When FileVault is enabled, Bluetooth mice and keyboards will only re-connect after login.
Potential solutions:
– If your Logitech device came with a USB receiver, using it will solve the issue.
– Use your MacBook keyboard and trackpad to login.
– Use a USB keyboard or mouse to login.
Note: This issue is fixed from macOS 12.3 or later on M1. Users with an older version might still experience it.

How to enable direct access to F-keys

Your keyboard has by default access to the Media and Hotkeys such as Volume Up, Play/Pause, Desktop view, and so on.
If you prefer to have direct access to your F-keys simply press  Fn  + Esc  on your keyboard to swap them.
You can download Logitech Options to get on-screen notifications when you swap from one to the other. Find the software here.

Keyboard backlight does not turn on

Your keyboard backlight will automatically turn off under the following conditions:
– The keyboard is equipped with an ambient light sensor — it assesses the amount of light around you and adapts the backlight accordingly. If there is enough light, it turns the keyboard backlight off to prevent draining the battery.
– When your keyboard’s battery is low, it turns the backlight off to allow you to continue working without disruption.

Backup device settings to the cloud in Logitech Options+

– INTRODUCTION
– HOW IT WORKS
– WHAT SETTINGS GET BACKED UP

INTRODUCTION
This feature on Logi Options+ allows you to backup the customization of your Options+ supported device automatically to the cloud after creating an account. If you are planning to use your device on a new computer or wish to go back to your old settings on the same computer, log into your Options+ account on that computer and fetch the settings you want from a backup to set up your device and get going.

HOW IT WORKS
When you are logged into Logi Options+ with a verified account, your device settings are automatically backed up to the cloud by default. You can manage the settings and the backups from the Backups tab under More settings of your device (as shown):
https://manuals.plus/wp-
content/uploads/2022/09/1_Options2B_1.jpg

Manage settings and backups by clicking on  More  >  Backups:

AUTOMATIC BACKUP OF SETTINGS  — if the  Automatically create backups of settings for all devices  checkbox is enabled, any settings you have or modify for all of your devices on that computer are backed up to the cloud automatically. The checkbox is enabled by default. You can disable it if you don’t want the settings of your devices to be backed up automatically.

CREATE A BACKUP NOW  — this button allows you to backup your current device settings now, if you need to fetch them later.

RESTORE SETTINGS FROM BACKUP  — this button lets you view and restore all the available backups you have for that device that are compatible with that computer, as shown above.
The settings for a device are backed up for every computer that you have your device connected to and have Logi Options+ that you are logged into. Every time you make some modifications to your device settings, they get backed up with that computer name. The backups can be differentiated based on the following:
Name of the computer. (Ex. John’s Work Laptop)
Make and/or model of the computer. (Ex. Dell Inc., Macbook Pro (13-inch) and so on)
The time when the backup was made
The desired settings can then be selected and restored accordingly.

WHAT SETTINGS GET BACKED UP
– Configuration of all the buttons of your mouse
– Configuration of all the keys of your keyboard
– Point & Scroll settings of your mouse
– Any application-specific settings of your device
WHAT SETTINGS ARE NOT BACKED UP
– Flow settings
– Options+ app settings

Keyboard/Mice – Buttons or keys do not work correctly

Likely Cause(s):
– Potential hardware issue
– Operating system /software settings
– USB port issue

Symptom(s):
– Single-click results in double-click (mice and pointers)
– Repeating or strange characters when typing on the keyboard
– Button/key/control gets stuck or responds intermittently

Possible solutions:
1. Clean the button/key with compressed air.
2. Verify the product or receiver is connected directly to the computer and not to a hub, extender, switch or something similar.
3. Unpair/repair or disconnect/reconnect hardware.
4. Upgrade firmware if available.
5. Windows only  — try a different USB port. If it makes a difference, try updating the motherboard USB chipset driver.
6. Try on a different computer.  Windows only  — if it works on a different computer, then the issue might be related to a USB chipset driver.

*Pointing devices only:
– If you’re not sure if the problem is a hardware or software issue, try switching the buttons in the settings (left click becomes right click and right click becomes left click). If the problem moves to the new button it is a software setting or application issue and hardware troubleshooting cannot resolve it. If the problem stays with the same button it is a hardware issue.
– If a single-click always double-clicks, check the settings (Windows mouse settings and/or in Logitech SetPoint/Options/G HUB/Control Center/Gaming Software) to verify if the button is set to  Single Click is Double Click.

NOTE: If buttons or keys respond incorrectly in a particular program, verify if the problem is specific to the software by testing in other programs.

– Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no keyboard is detected
– Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if no mouse or trackpad is detected
– Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer
NOTE: These options ensure that Bluetooth-enabled devices can wake your Mac and that the OS Bluetooth Setup Assistant will launch if a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse or trackpad is not detected as connected to your Mac.
5. Click  OK.

Restart the Mac Bluetooth Connection on your Mac
1. Navigate to the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences:
– Go to  Apple Menu  >  System Preferences  >  Bluetooth
2. Click  Turn Bluetooth Off.
3. Wait a few seconds, and then click  Turn Bluetooth On.
4. Check to see if the Logitech Bluetooth device is working. If not, go to the next steps.

Reset the Mac’s Bluetooth settings

WARNING: This will reset your Mac, and cause it to forget all of the Bluetooth devices you have ever used. You will need to re-configure each device.

1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled and that you can see the Bluetooth icon in the Mac Menu Bar at the top of the screen. (You’ll need to check the box Show Bluetooth in menu bar  in the Bluetooth preferences).
2. Hold down the  Shift and  Option keys, and then click the Bluetooth icon in the Mac Menu Bar.

3. The Bluetooth menu will appear, and you will see additional hidden items in the drop-down menu. Select  Debug and then  Remove all devices. This clears the Bluetooth device table and you’ll then need to reset the Bluetooth system.
4. Hold down the  Shift and  Option keys again, click on the Bluetooth menu and select  DebugReset the Bluetooth Module.
5. You will now need to repair all your Bluetooth devices following standard Bluetooth pairing procedures.
To re-pair your Logitech Bluetooth device:
NOTE: Make sure all your Bluetooth devices are on and have enough battery life before you re-pair them.

When the new Bluetooth Preference file is created, you’ll need to re-pair all your Bluetooth devices with your Mac. Here’s how:
1. If the Bluetooth Assistant starts up, follow the onscreen instructions and you should be ready to go. If the Assistant doesn’t appear, go to Step 3.
2. Click  AppleSystem Preferences , and select the Bluetooth Preference pane.
3. Your Bluetooth devices should be listed with a Pair button next to each unpaired device. Click  Pair to associate each Bluetooth device with your Mac.
4. Check to see if the Logitech Bluetooth device is working. If not, go to the next steps.

Delete your Mac’s Bluetooth Preference List
The Mac’s Bluetooth Preference List may be corrupted. This preference list stores all the Bluetooth devices pairings and their current states. If the list is corrupted, you’ll need to remove your Mac’s Bluetooth Preference List and re-pair your device.

NOTE: This will delete all pairing for your Bluetooth devices from your computer, not just Logitech devices.

1. Click  AppleSystem Preferences , and select the Bluetooth Preference pane.
2. Click  Turn Bluetooth Off.
3. Open a Finder window and navigate to the /YourStartupDrive/Library/Preferences folder. Press  Command-Shift-G  on your keyboard and enter  /Library/Preferences  in the box.
Typically this will be in  /Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences. If you changed the name of your startup drive, then the first part of the pathname above will be that [Name]; for example,  [Name]/Library/Preferences.
4. With the Preferences folder open in the Finder, look for the file called com.apple.Bluetooth.plist. This is your Bluetooth Preference List. This file could be corrupted and cause problems with your Logitech Bluetooth device.
5. Select the  com.apple.Bluetooth.plist  file and drag it to the desktop.
NOTE: This will create a backup file on your desktop if you ever want to go back to the original setup. At any point, you can drag this file back to the Preferences folder.
6. In the Finder window that is open to the /YourStartupDrive/Library/Preferences folder, right-click the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist  file and select  Move to Trash  from the pop-up menu.
7. If you are asked for an administrator password to move the file to the trash, enter the password and click  OK.
8. Close any open applications, then restart your Mac.
9. Re-pair your Logitech Bluetooth device.

-Options+ app settings

Why is my device not detected in Options+?

Please check [here](https://www.logitech.com/software/logi-options-plus.html

supported-mice) to see if your device is supported in Options+. If it is

supported and still doesn’t show up, you can report the issue using the support button in the app settings.

– Troubleshooting Flow

Introduction to Flow
Logitech Flow allows you to use and control multiple computers seamlessly.
You can switch to another computer by simply moving your cursor to the edge of the screen. You can also effortlessly transfer text, images, or files between computers — just copy on one and paste to the other.
You can even use Flow between Windows and macOS.

Setting up Flow
Setting up Logitech Flow is quick and easy. To set up Flow:
Download and Install Logi Options+  — Download and install Logi Options+ on your computers.
Pair your mouse to the computers  — Logitech Flow uses Logitech Easy- Switch™ technology to switch between your computers. You need to pair your mouse via the USB receiver or Bluetooth on different channels (1, 2, and 3) to your computers. You can find instructions to pair your mouse to a computer here. You can use two or three different computers on your Logitech Flow configuration.
Connect computers to the same network  — Make sure all your computers are connected to the same wireless or wired network. In office environments, where network ports can be blocked, you might need to talk to your network administrator in case Logitech Flow cannot establish a connection.
Set up Logitech Flow  — When you set up Logitech Flow, your computer will find other computers on the network that are paired to the same mouse. Please wait for the connection process to take place so you can start using Logitech Flow. If other computers could not be found on your network, you might need to enable Logitech Flow on your other computer(s) — make sure you have an active internet connection for the initial connection to be established.
If you have problems during the setup process, please refer to the troubleshooting section below.

Using Flow
After setting up Logitech Flow, you can automatically switch between computers just by moving your mouse cursor to the edge of the screen. To change the behavior of Flow to your specific needs, you can customize it from the Flow tab in the app.

Enable/Disable Flow
You can enable or disable Flow whenever you like. Your computer arrangement and preferences won’t be lost. This is ideal if you want to temporarily disable Logitech Flow.
Manage your computers
You can rearrange your computer setup to match your desktop layout by dragging and dropping them to the desired position.

Logitech Flow supports two or three computers, depending on how many Easy- Switch devices your mouse supports. You can add an additional computer by clicking on the Add Computer button. Make sure to follow the setup process for each computer before clicking the add computers button.
Click the more options button for each computer to disable or remove it.

Disable  — temporarily disables a computer until you re-enable it. This is ideal if you don’t want to temporarily automatically switch to this computer.
Remove  — permanently removes a computer from Logitech Flow. You won’t be able to automatically switch to it. Your mouse will still be paired to your computer, so you can still use your mouse’s Easy-Switch™ button to switch to it.

Switch between computers
Move to the edge  — switch between computers just by reaching the edge of the screen.
Hold Ctrl and move to the edge  — switch between computers by holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard and moving to the edge of the screen with your mouse cursor.
Copy and Paste
With copy and paste enabled, you can copy text, images, and files from one computer and paste them on another. Just copy the content you want on one computer, switch to another computer using Logitech Flow, and paste the content. Transferring content and files depends on your network speed. Large- sized images or files might take minutes to be transferred.
Note: Certain file types, which can be opened on one system, might not be supported on another if the application that supports it is not installed.
Note: Dragging files from one computer to drop on another is not supported by Logitech Flow.

Keyboard Link
With a compatible Logitech keyboard, you can have the best Logitech Flow experience. If you have a Logitech Flow supported keyboard, you’ll be able to link it to your mouse so it follows your mouse when you switch to another computer. Your keyboard will be available in the drop-down list if it’s paired to your Logitech Flow computers.
Note: Make sure your keyboard is paired and listed as a device. In case it’s not listed, try switching between computers and re-launching the app.

Logitech Flow supported keyboards:  You can find a list of Logitech Flow supported keyboards here.

Troubleshooting Flow
I get a message saying that Logitech Flow was unable to find or establish a connection to other computers, what can I do? Logitech Flow relies on your network for its initial configuration and regular use. Follow the steps below to start using Logitech Flow:
1. Make sure your mouse shows up on Options+ on all computers.
2. Make sure that your computers are connected to the same network.
3. Make sure that the Options+ communication channel is not blocked by any firewall or antivirus application.
4. Make sure that you have a working internet connection.
5. Make sure that you have enabled Flow on all computers.

Note: Logitech Flow uses the network to link multiple (up to three) computers and allow them to share a mouse and keyboard. To accomplish this, Flow uses a fixed UDP port (59870) to listen for and discover other computers that are on the same subnet and can ping each other using UDP broadcasts.

How do I pair my mouse to another computer?
To learn how to pair your mouse to different computers, please visit Logitech’s support page to find specific connection information for your device.

I keep switching to the other computer by mistake when I reach the edge
Enable the  Hold Ctrl and move to the edge  option on Options+. This will allow you to have more control and switch only when your keyboard Ctrl key is down and you reach the designated edge.

When my computer goes to sleep or it’s on the login screen, Logitech Flow does not work. Why does that happen?
Logitech Flow relies on your network connection to automatically find other computers during setup, switch between computers, and transfer content across them. Depending on your computer settings, your network connection is disabled while your computer is asleep and Flow might not be running. To use Flow, make sure your computer is awake, you’re logged in and the network connection is established.

I transfer certain files but I’m unable to open them on my other computer?
Logitech Flow can transfer text, images, and files across computers using the clipboard. This means you can copy content from one machine, switch to another computer and paste the file. If you don’t have an application that can open that file it might not be recognized by your operating system.

I have a keyboard paired to both computers but I don’t see my keyboard as an option on the drop-down list, what should I do?
If you still continue to have issues, try restarting both computers and enabling the Keyboard link on Options+.
1. Make sure that you have a Logitech Flow supported keyboard.
2. Make sure that the keyboard shows up in Options+ on all your computers. Try switching between the computers using the Easy-Switch key and restarting Options+ to make sure it’s connected. If you still continue to have issues, try restarting both computers.

Unable to Flow into one of my computers after changing connection type or channel for that computer

If you connect your mouse on a different channel or with a different connection type to the computer that was previously set up in a Flow network, you will be unable to flow into that computer. To resolve this issue, please try the following steps on that computer:

5. On Windows
6. Open  File Explorer  and go to C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalLogiOptionsPlus  and remove flow folder
7. Restart the computer
8. Open Options+ app and setup Flow again

Flow screen does not load in Logi Options+. How can I resolve it?

If the Flow screen does not load and is stuck with the loading spinner, please turn off your mouse and turn it back on to resolve it.
We are working on this issue and will fix it in one of our upcoming updates.

Flow does not work from macOS 12.4 onwards when my devices are connected via Bluetooth

From macOS 12.4 onwards, Options+ needs Bluetooth permission to detect a Bluetooth device if it’s not actively connected to that computer. If the app does not have the Bluetooth permission, you will not be able to Flow into that computer as it cannot detect the device. To resolve this issue, please grant Bluetooth permission by following the below instructions:
1. Open  System Preferences  >  Security & Privacy >  Privacy.
2. Select  Bluetooth  from the left menu.

3. Click the lock icon at the bottom left corner and enter your password to unlock.
4. In the right panel, check the box for Logi Options+ and select  Quit & Reopen when prompted to grant permission.

NOTE: If you clicked  Later , please uncheck the checkbox for Logi Options+, check it again, and press  Quit Now  when prompted.

Logi Options+ issues recognizing devices on macOS when Secure Input is enabled

Ideally, Secure Input should only be enabled while the cursor is active in a sensitive information field, such as when you enter a password, and should be disabled right after you leave the password field. However, some applications may leave the Secure Input state enabled. In that case, you may experience the following issues with your devices supported by Logi Options+:
– When the device is paired via Bluetooth, it’s either not detected by Options+ or none of the software-enabled features work (basic device functionality will continue to work, however).
– When the device is paired via a Unifying receiver, keyboard shortcuts assigned to your buttons or keys will not work.

If you encounter these issues, check to see which application has Secure Input enabled on your system by following these steps:
1. Launch Terminal from /Applications/Utilities folder.
2. Type the following command in Terminal and press  Enter :
ioreg -l -d 1 -w 0 | grep SecureInput
– If the command returns back no information, then Secure Input is  not enabled on the system.
– If the command returns back some information, then look for “kCGSSessionSecureInputPID”=xxxx. The number xxxx points to the Process ID ( PID ) of the application/process that has Secure Input enabled:
– Launch Activity Monitor from /Applications/Utilities folder.
– Search for  PID  (from step 2) which has secure input enabled to figure out which application/process has secure input enabled

Once you know which application has Secure Input enabled, close that application to resolve the issues with Logitech Options+.

Sometimes, some applications including Webroot Secure Anywhere and LastPass may always leave secure input enabled. In that case, connect your device via a USB receiver or pause the application that’s causing the issue for your devices to work. Please note that pausing the application could mean you may lose any security and privacy protections the app was providing.

Does Options+ have native support for Apple silicon (M1) computers?

Yes, Options+ has native support for Apple silicon computers starting with version 0.90.
Please note that the Logi Bolt app to pair your device to your computer doesn’t have native support for Apple silicon. You can still install and use it via the Rosetta emulator that macOS prompts you to install when you launch the Logi Bolt installer. The Logi Bolt app features will be added to Options+ in March 2022 after which, you will no longer need the Logi Bolt app.

Check for firmware updates button does not do anything on my M1 Mac computer without Rosetta installed

We have an issue wherein the Check for firmware update button in the device settings does not open the firmware update tool on M1 Mac computers if Rosetta is not installed. The firmware update tool requires Rosetta to run on M1 Mac computers. While we address this issue, you can open the firmware update tool from  /Library/ApplicationSupport/Logitech.localized/LogiOptionsPlus  to check for and install firmware updates. When you open the tool, you’ll be prompted to install Rosetta. Please click install to open the tool.

We will be integrating the firmware update tool into Options+ in the future at which point, Rosetta will not be needed for installing firmware updates.

Why is Options+ showing up under Location Services on my Mac?

Options+ does not need and does not use your location. It is getting added to your location services on macOS due to an issue with a framework we use in the app. The entry for Options+ is unchecked by default and you can leave it unchecked, thereby not sharing your location. Meanwhile, we are working on getting the issue fixed.

Is Options+ compatible with macOS Universal Control? Why does my customization not work when I switch to a computer via Universal Control?

Yes, Options+ is compatible with macOS Universal Control. But there are a few limitations as described below:
– When Universal Control is used to switch from Computer A to Computer B, your Logitech devices are not physically connected to Computer B. So, any configuration you have for your device via Options+ will not work in Computer B. Your device will work as it would if Options+ were not installed. For your device configuration in computer B to work, you will need to connect to computer B directly or using our Flow feature.
– If the Flow feature is set up between the two computers and Universal Control is enabled, Universal control takes precedence and Flow doesn’t work. To use Flow, please disable Universal Control.

Unable to remove inactive Bluetooth device from the app on macOS 12

On some macOS 12 computers, inactive devices connected via Bluetooth still remain on the app UI even after they are removed from the Bluetooth menu. If you experience this issue, restart your computer to remove the device from the app UI.

What type of USB does the Logi Bolt receiver use?

The Logi Bolt receiver uses USB 2.0 Type-A.

What version of the Bluetooth core specifications is Logi Bolt connectivity based on?

Our Logi Bolt wireless devices are Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 or higher. We are actively using all the security mechanisms introduced in Bluetooth Low Energy Core Specification 4.2.
From a backward compatibility standpoint, Logi Bolt wireless devices are able to communicate with Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 hosts or higher when in direct Bluetooth connection.

What is the effective range of Logi Bolt?

Logi Bolt wireless devices are Bluetooth Class 2, which means up to 10 meters wireless range.

What Security Manager Protocols does Logi Bolt use for pairing, bonding, encryption and signing?

The Logi Bolt security level used by our Logi Bolt devices during the communication are the following:

Logi Bolt Receiver Connection Direct Bluetooth Connection
Keyboard Security Mode 1 – Security Level 4

Also called Secure Connections Only mode, this is the security level enforced when Logi Bolt wireless mice and keyboards are paired to a Logi Bolt USB receiver.| Security Mode 1 – Security Level 3
With a keyboard in direct connection, we have a pairing with 6-digit Passkey entry.
Mouse| Security Mode 1 – Security Level 2
With a mouse in direct connection, we have ‘just works’ pairing.

Are PIN codes used for authentication with Logi Bolt

Logi Bolt does not use PIN codes. It uses Passkey during the authentication phase of pairing.
– In the context of a Logi Bolt wireless keyboard, it’s a 6-digit passkey (which means an entropy of 2^20).
– In the context of a Logi Bolt wireless mouse, it’s a 10-click passkey (which means an entropy of 2^10). At this time, we believe Logi Bolt is the only wireless protocol that enforces mouse authentication across all compatible operating systems.

Does Logi Bolt use Just Works security mode

Just Works pairing to Logi Bolt USB receivers is not permitted. All Logi Bolt wireless mice and keyboards pair with the Logi Bolt USB receiver in Security Mode 1 – Security Level 4, also called Secure Connections Only mode.
If you or your organization have concerns or don’t permit direct Bluetooth connections yet want the convenience and better experience wireless computer peripherals offer, you can pair Logi Bolt wireless mice and keyboards to Logi Bolt USB receivers.
In addition, our Logi Bolt wireless mice and keyboards can also direct-connect to host computers via Bluetooth. In these cases where the Logi Bolt receiver is not used:
– For Logi Bolt wireless keyboard direct Bluetooth connections, Passkey is requested per industry standard.
– For Logi Bolt wireless mouse direct Bluetooth connections, Just Works Pairing is used per industry standard as there is no Passkey pairing standard for mice.

If the Logi Bolt device supports multiple pairings, does it use random/unique codes or static

Users can pair up to six Logi Bolt wireless mice and keyboards to a single Logi Bolt USB receiver. Each pairing uses a different Bluetooth address and different long term keys (LTK) and session keys for encryption.

Are Logi Bolt devices discoverable when actively initiated

Our Logi Bolt wireless devices are only discoverable during a pairing procedure which can be entered only upon explicit user action (a long 3-second press to the connect button).

Is the firmware of the Logi Bolt devices patchable should a vulnerability be discovered

Yes. Our Logi Bolt wireless devices’ firmware can be updated by our software or via network push by IT administrators. However, we implemented anti- rollback protection for security patches. That means that an attacker cannot downgrade the firmware version to “reinstall” a patched vulnerability. Also, users and IT administrators cannot “restore factory settings”, eliminating security patches.

Does Logi Bolt meet the security requirements of most companies in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare

Logi Bolt was designed to address growing security concerns resulting from an increasingly mobile workforce — work from home being an obvious example. When paired with a Logi Bolt receiver, Logi Bolt wireless products use Bluetooth security mode 1, level 4 (also known as Secure Connections Only mode), which is U.S. Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliant.

Has Logitech conducted security testing on its implementation of the Bluetooth stack in the Logi Bolt devices

Yes, Logitech received a third-party security assessment from a leading cybersecurity company. With that said, cybersecurity exposure constantly changes with new threats or vulnerabilities often on the horizon. That is one of the primary reasons we designed Logi Bolt based on Bluetooth Low Energy wireless technology. Bluetooth has a global community of more than 36,000 companies — its Special Interest Group (SIG) — on constant watch and dedicated to continual improvement, protection, and evolution of Bluetooth technology.

Did Logitech fix Logitech Unifying wireless security issues in Logi Bolt

If an attacker attempts to impersonate a Logi Bolt wireless product to communicate with the Logi Bolt USB Receiver via RF, does the USB Receiver accept that input
The usage of Secure Connections Only mode (Security Mode 1, Security Level 4) ensures that the communication is encrypted and authenticated. This means that there is a protection against on-path attackers which mitigates the risk of keystroke injection.

  • Today there is no known attack on the Bluetooth Low Energy standard.
For the Logi Bolt USB Receiver to accept input, does the input need to be encrypted
Yes, the usage of Secure Connections Only mode (Security Mode 1, Security Level 4) ensures that the communication is encrypted and authenticated.
Is there a means for an attacker to derive or steal the per-device link- encryption keys that pair the wireless product to the USB Receiver from RF enabling the attacker to inject arbitrary keystrokes or eavesdrop and live decrypt input remotely
Sensitive data like link encryption keys are protected when stored on the Logi Bolt USB receiver.
With the LE Secure Connection (Security Mode 1, Security Level 2 and above), the Long Term Key (LTK) is generated on both sides in such a way that an eavesdropper cannot guess it (Diffie-Hellman key exchange).
Can a remote attacker pair a new Logi Bolt wireless product to a Logi Bolt receiver, even if the user has not put the Logi Bolt USB receiver into pairing mode
The receiver has to be in pairing mode to accept a new pairing.
Moreover, even if an attacker tricks the user to put the receiver in pairing mode, we included a software-enable capability that alerts on the host monitor that there has been a change in the USB receiver to which the wireless device is paired (alarm notification).

Corporate policy does not allow use of Bluetooth connections. Can we deploy Logi Bolt wireless products?

Yes, Logi Bolt wireless mice and keyboards are in fact ideal for environments that do not permit Bluetooth connections. Though Logi Bolt is based on Bluetooth, it is an end-to-end closed system where a Logi Bolt receiver is emitting an encrypted signal that only connects with Logi Bolt products. So the Logi Bolt USB receiver can’t be paired with any non-Logi Bolt device. And because Logi Bolt works with most enterprise operating systems and is securely paired right out of the box, it makes procurement and set up that much easier.

Which products have Logi Bolt connectivity?

Are Logi Bolt wireless products cross-compatible with Logitech Unifying wireless products?

Logi Bolt wireless products cannot be paired with a Logitech Unifying USB receiver and vice versa. Logitech Unifying wireless products cannot be paired to a Logi Bolt USB receiver.
However, in many cases, Logitech Unifying and Logi Bolt products can be used simultaneously with the same host computer if the host computer has two available USB-A ports. Just keep this in mind — when possible, the best option is to plug your Logi Bolt USB receiver into a port, then power on your Logi Bolt wireless product. This ensures you get the strong signal and security that Logi Bolt offers when paired with its USB receiver.

How do I use a combination of Logitech wireless products on the same computer?

When possible, the best option is to plug your Logi Bolt USB receiver into a USB port, then power on your Logi Bolt wireless product. This ensures you get the strong signal and security that Logi Bolt offers when paired with its USB receiver. If you have more than one Logi Bolt product, you can (and should) pair up to six Logi Bolt products to a single Logi Bolt USB receiver.
Start by identifying which USB receiver provides what type of connection. Visit logitech.com/logibolt for more information.

Next, if unsure what type of wireless mice and keyboards you have, look for a matching logo/design mark on the bottom (the side that rests on the desk surface) of your Logitech wireless products.

1. If you have two available USB A ports:
– Plug in both the Logi Bolt and Logitech Unifying or 2.4 GHz USB receivers. They can be used on the same computer with their respective wireless products. No required software downloads in most instances. Simply plug in the USB receivers, power on wireless products. This ensures you get the strong signal and security that Logi Bolt offers when paired with its USB receiver.

2. If you only have one available USB A port:
– If you have a 2.4GHz product or if your Unifying wireless product requires a USB receiver (it does not have Bluetooth as a connection option), plug the 2.4 GHz or Unifying receiver into a port, power on and off your wireless product. Next, connect your Logi Bolt wireless product via Bluetooth.
– If you have an advanced Unifying wireless product with Bluetooth as a connection option, connect your advanced Unifying wireless product via Bluetooth. Next, plug in your Logi Bolt USB receiver into a port. Power on your Logi Bolt wireless product. This ensures you get the strong signal and security that Logi Bolt offers when paired with its USB receiver.

3. If you don’t have any USB A ports or none are available:
– In this case, you probably have a Unifying wireless product that has Bluetooth as a connection option and it’s connected to the computer via Bluetooth. Simply add your Logi Bolt wireless product via Bluetooth.

Why aren’t Logi Bolt and Logitech Unifying cross-compatible

Logi Bolt is based on the global wireless standard for simple, secure connectivity, Bluetooth Low Energy Wireless Technology. Logitech Unifying is a proprietary 2.4 GHz radio frequency wireless protocol that was developed by Logitech. Plainly, they don’t speak the same language.

Is it possible to pair multiple devices with the same Logi Bolt receiver

Absolutely. Just like Logitech Unifying connectivity protocol, you can pair up to six Logi Bolt wireless products to a single Logi Bolt USB receiver. In fact, this feature may be in demand more now than ever with individuals who have multiple workspaces — office and home. With one set of Logi Bolt peripherals in the office and another at home, there is no need to carry or commute your favorite peripherals in between workspaces. Simply position the laptop or tablet into range and your wireless products will be ready to use when powered on.
To learn how to pair more than one Logi Bolt wireless product to your Logi Bolt USB receiver, visit logitech.com/options to download Logitech Options software which will walk you through the easy steps.

Will Logitech continue to sell Logitech Unifying wireless products

Starting in 2021, Logi Bolt is Logitech’s new connectivity protocol for wireless mice and keyboards (non-gaming). Logi Bolt may someday be extended to wireless headsets. However, it will take several years before Logitech’s extensive and popular product portfolio is 100% transitioned to Logi Bolt.

Will Logitech continue to provide routine online, telephone and email support for Unifying products

Yes, we will continue to provide Logitech Support for Unifying wireless products.

How do I know if my device is Logitech Unifying or Logi Bolt

Start by identifying which USB receiver provides what type of connection. Visit www.logitech.com/logibolt for more information.

Next, if you’re unsure what type of wireless mice and keyboards you have, look for a matching logo/design mark on the bottom (the side that rests on the desk surface) of your Logitech wireless products.

How does the Dictation Key work on Logi Bolt keyboards?

WindowsⓇ macOSⓇ and iPadOSⓇ operating systems have native dictation features: Online Speech Recognition for Windows, Apple Dictation for macOS, and iPadOS. Reliable use of dictation often requires an internet connection. The Logitech Dictation key   activates enabled Dictation with the press of just one key instead of a combination of keys or menu navigation activation.
These dictation features may be subject to third-party privacy and usage terms and conditions. For further information about these third-party systems — Speech Recognition for Windows or Apple Dictation for macOS — please inquire with Microsoft and Apple product support, respectively.
Dictation is not the same as Voice Control. The Logitech Dictation key does not activate Voice Control.

How is dictation enabled?
If dictation is not already enabled, when the user first tries to activate it via the Logitech Dictation key, they will be required to authorize use.
On Windows, a notification may appear on the screen:
