 Operation

6.1. Mount the device on a lamp stand
NOTE:
Please note the user information of the stand manufacturer.
WARNING
Select a lamp stand of suitable weight and dimensions. See technical specifications. Make sure that the tripod with the mounted device has a tilt and skid resistant stand.
When choosing a lamp stand, make sure that it has a high load-bearing capacity and stability. The lamp stand must be equipped with a 5/8 inch spigot / pin.
Set up the lamp stand on a level surface according to the instructions. At the top end of the centre column of the lamp stand is the 5/8 inch / 16mm mounting adapter (spigot). Slightly unscrew the wing screw of the holder (5) and place the spigot (6) on the stand adapter from above. Then tighten the screw again. Make sure that the holder is positioned correctly.
The screw must be tightened on the slim part of the mounting adapter. This prevents the bracket from coming loose. The bracket is now firmly mounted on the lamp stand.
6.2. Moving the boom in the bracket
The boom is firmly clamped in the bracket. Move the boom without moun- ted equipment and counterweight to balance the mounted equipment and counterweight as best as possible, which will minimise the load on the tilt mechanism and ensure the stability of the lamp stand. To move the boom in the bracket, loosen the locking screw of the bracket. Move the boom to the position where you want to use it later and screw the bracket back in place.
Check the secure fit of the boom.
If you want to move the boom with the counterweight and accessories mounted, involve a second person to hold the equipped boom securely.
Now proceed as described above.
6.3. Angle adjustment of the boom
Change the angle of the boom without accessories and counterweight mounted. To do this, open the clamping lever for the angle adjustment. Now you can change the angle as desired. Then close the clamping lever firmly again. Check the firm fit of the boom.
If you want to change the inclination of the boom with the counterweight and accessories mounted, involve a second person to hold the equipped boom securely. Now proceed as described above.
6.4. Mounting your equipment and the counterweight
Before mounting, consider the maximum possible weight. This depends on the tripod you are using, the extension of the boom and the leverage. In general, the larger the lever and the extension, the less weight is possible.
Please note that the extension arm has a maximum load capacity of 5 kg. For mounting your equipment, a 5/8 inch / 16 mm mount or a 1/4 inch thread is available. Here you can attach your equipment that has a corresponding mount.
For assembly, ask a second person to help you set up the stand and prevent it from tipping over. Mount the equipment with the boom retracted and firmly closed. Open the spigot screw on your equipment. Now place your equipment on the spigot of the boom (11) and then tighten the screw again. The screw must be tightened on the slim part of the adapter. Now screw the counterweight to the handle.
WARNING Risk of injury from falling counterweight!
Be careful when screwing on the counterweight. Always hold the counterweight securely from below with one hand so that it cannot fall down.
6.5. Extending and retracting the boom
The boom can be adjusted in length. With the equipment mounted, involve a second person to hold the stand or boom securely. Hold the equipment firmly and first open a latch on the boom. Pull the rod to the desired length and close the lock again. If desired, do the same with the other lock.
To work safely, the boom must be balanced to prevent the lamp stand from tipping over. Move the boom in its holder (2) until it is balanced and then fix it with the shutter.
NOTE: For very light equipment, no counterweight may be needed.
When using the full extension, a maximum of 2 kg of equipment is possible, with a shorter extension correspondingly more, without extension up to 5 kg.
To find the balance easily, follow the law of leverage.
6.6. Instructions for use and care

  • Please note that lamp stands must be set up on a sufficiently load-bearing,
level surface to ensure maximum stability and supporting capacity.

  • Observe the instructions regarding the maximum load capacity of the stand you are using. Only use a stand that is suitable for your requirements.

  •  For your own safety and to protect the installed equipment, when adjusting the height of the stand with the equipment mounted, make sure to hold the centre segment with one hand before loosening the fasteners of the stand.

  • For your own safety and to protect the installed equipment, when moving the bracket or when extending or retracting the boom with the equipment mounted, make sure to hold the pole and equipment securely while releasing the lock. Only open one lock at a time and close it tightly again after adjustment. Especially with heavy equipment, ask a second person to help you.

  • When attaching equipment via 1/4 or 3/8 inch thread, note that these have a lower load capacity than the 16 mm spigot (5/8 inch spigot) connection.

  • Do not move an equipped stand or move it very carefully.

  • The extension arms are maintenance-free. If you notice a scratching noise when changing them, remove sand and dust with a dry cloth.

Transportation and storage

  1. If necessary, switch off the assembled equipment and allow it to cool  down, unplug, etc., in accordance with its instructions for use, then remove it from the gallows.
  2. Clean the unit if necessary. See Cleaning the unit.
  3.  Place the unit and all dismantled elements in a cardboard box and store it on a dry place.

Maintenance

WARNING
Risk of injury from falling counterweight, collapsing extensions and entrapment.
Only loosen fasteners and screw connections of any kind with the utmost care. Make sure that nothing falls down, extends or retracts unexpectedly or folds in, out or over.
NOTE: Only use the cleaning agents specified in the following table.
