Assembly Instructions

  1. Find a clear area in which you can work.
  2. Unpack fixture and glass from carton.
  3. Carefully review instructions prior to assembly.

MOUNTING

Mounting Instruction

  1.  To begin installation of your fixture it will first be necessary to removethe mounting plate (A) from the backplate (B). This is accomplished by first removing the three screws (C), located at the top and two on the lower side of the backplate. Set screws in a safe place for use later.

  2. Next attach mounting plate (A) to junction box (J) with two screws (D), NOT PROVIDED.
    NOTE: make sure when installing mounting plate (A) that one of the holes (E) is facing toward the ceiling, before tightening screws (D) – see Drawing

  3.  Make all necessary electrical connections following instruction sheet 1S-18 provided.
    NOTE: additional anchor holes (X) are provided on the fixture mounting plate. Please use appropriate mounting hardware. (Not Provided)
    SAFETY WARNING: READ WIRING AND GROUNDING INSTRUC-TIONS (I.S. 18) AND ANY ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS. TURN POWER SUPPLY OFF DURING INSTALLATION. IF NEW WIRING IS REQUIRED, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR CODE REQUIREMENTS.

  4. After all connections are made, tuck wires into junction box (J) and slipbackplate (B) over mounting tabs (A) and align threaded holes in tab (A) with holes (H) in backplate (B).

  5. Thread in screws (C) removed earlier, and tighten to secure fixture to wall.

GLASS INSTALLATION

Installation Instruction

  1. To install glass, first align notches (N) in glass (1) with tabs (T) inside glass fitter (2) located inside shade (S) – see Drawing 2.
    CAUTION: When installing the bottom glass make sure glass in engaged correctly to prevent it from falling out.

  2. Now slip glass into fitter and twist to lock in place.
    NOTE: lamp fixture before installing glass.

Indoor Fixtures

  1. Connec t positive supply w ire (A) (typically black or the smooth, unma rked side of the t wo-conduc for cord) to posi tive fixture lead (B ) with ap prop ri ately si zed twist on connector-see Drawings 1 or
  2. Connec t negative supply wire (C) (typica Ily w hi te or the ri bbed , marked side of the tw o-conductor cord) to ne gative fixt ure lead (D).
  3. Please refer to the grounding instructions below to comp let e all electrical connections
Outdoor Fixtures
  1. Connect positive supply w ire (A) (typically black or the smooth unmarked side of the t wo conduct for cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with appropriately si zed twist on connector—see [Drawings 2 or
  2. Connect negative supply wire (C) (typicaIly white or the ribbed , marked side of the tw o-conductor cord) to ne gative fixture lead (D).
  3. Cover open end of connectors with silicone seal ant t o form a watertight seal. 0 If in stalling a wall moun t fixt ure, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting p late (backpla te) a nd the wall. Thi s will help pr event water from entering the out let box. If t he wall surface is lap sidi ng, use caulk and a fixture mounting pl at fo rm specially.

Flush Mount Fixtures
For positive grounding in a 3-wire electrical system, fast en the fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the fixt ure mounting strap (M) with the ground screw (S) – see Draw ing 1 Note: On straps for screw supported fixtures, frst install the two mounting screws in strap. Any remaining tapped hole may be used for the ground screw

Chain Hung Fixtures
Loop fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) under the head of the ground screw (5) on fixture mounting strap (M) and connect to the loose end of the fixture ground wire directly to the ground wire ofthe building system with appropriately si zed twist- on connectors – see Draw ing2

Post-Mount Fixtures
Connect fixture ground wire (E) (typic ally copper or green plastic coated) to power supply ground with app ropriatelysized twist-on connector inside post. Cover open end of connector with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
