HINKLEY D58820 Luna LED Post Cap
Product Information
The product is the Luna Post Cap, belonging to the Deckorators family. It comes in two different models, with item numbers D58820 and D58840. The luminaire is designed to operate with Deckorators approved 12 Volt AC systems or other 9-15 Volt DC systems. It can be fully dimmed using the MLV-type dimmer control of the 120 VAC side of the 12 VAC transformer. PWM dimmer can be used on the output side of DC systems. The product is designed for outdoor use and is installed on top of a post cap.
Product Usage Instructions
Safety Warning: Turn off the power supply during installation. If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician or local authority for code requirements.
Luminaire Mounting – Post Cap Top:
- Remove two (2) set screws from the base of the luminaire with the hex wrench provided.
- Install the base casting on the desired post and secure it to the post wall by tightening two (2) Philips screws at opposite sides.
- Route the wiring into the post and secure the top casting assembly to the base casting using the previously removed two (2) set screws.
Luminaire Wiring:
- To prevent electrical shock, disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply before installation or service.
- Run wire to the bottom of the post according to local building practices.
- Strip the two wire leads from the luminaire and connect them to the main supply wire using wire nuts. Fill wire nuts with appropriate silicone to waterproof (consult wiring instructions from the transformer or power supply).

Operation Notes:

- Full range dim by using MLV-type dimmer control of the 120 VAC side of 12 VAC transformer. PWM dimmer may be used on output side of DC systems.
Luminaire Mounting

- Remove two (2) set screws from base of luminaire with hex wrench provided.
