HOW THE UNIT FUNCTIONS
The macerator is simply a tank that is gravity fed from your toilet, washing machine, shower, etc. with a built-in pressure switch that detects the incoming waste and starts a pump combined with cutting blades. This reduces the effluent to an easy-to-pump fluid which is then pumped along small- diameter pipes into the drains. A non-return valve is fitted as standard so enabling the unit to pump up to 8m vertically.
INSTALLATION
-
ELECTRICS
The unit must be installed to current electrical regulations with a fused spur mounted outside the room fused at 3 amps. Wead vise that this is done by a registered electrician. -
Connection
The unit is designed for a horizontal toilet with an outlet of the standard European 18 cm to the outlet centre from the floor. All other in lets must gravity fed into the unit. The outlet comes as standard with a 32mm connection, however, 22 mm can be used with a reducer. What is very important is that the pipe run uses radius bends and is forbidden to use90-degree (right-angle elbows) bends as blockages can occur.
If the water outlet is discharged horizontally, the water pipe must havea1% inclination.
If the sewage is discharged upwards, the horizontal pipe should not exceed 1 ft (30 cm). -
Inlet
The unit can be used just for one input such as a toilet or shower or sink or all at once and blanking covers are provided to allow for this.
