Product Information

The Luma Glow LED Lights are a bathroom ware product designed and manufactured by Newtech. These lights are intended to create a back lighting effect under a vanity or mirror cabinet. The lights come in various models with different lengths and wattages, allowing customers to choose the one that best suits their needs. The lights are equipped with a transformer that can be plugged into an isolating power socket or hardwired in with an isolating switch. It is recommended to have a registered electrician install the lights to ensure compliance with wiring regulations and safety standards.Newtech recommends that a registered electrician install this product and that it is installed to the current wiring regulations and in particular to those regulations that include the installation of appliances and accessories in damp environments such as bathrooms. It must be installed in accordance with relevant Australian/New Zealand Standards (AS/NZS).

Product Usage Instructions

To install the Luma Glow LED Lights, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the end caps of the lights.
  2. Press lightly on the inside of the translucent cover to remove it.
  3. Choose the appropriate mounting location on the under face of the cabinet (vanity or mirror) as close to the wall as possible for the best effect.
  4. If necessary, mount the transformer inside the cabinet away from the contact area.
  5. Use recommended screws (4g x 16mm) to secure the aluminum extrusion and avoid damage to the translucent cover channel.
  6. If using a power socket, plug the Luma-Glow transformer into an isolating power socket located inside the cabinet.
  7. If hardwiring, ensure that it is wired in with an isolating switch by a registered electrician.

Note: It is important to comply with all relevant Australian/New Zealand Standards (AS/NZS) and wiring regulations when installing the Luma Glow LED Lights. Newtech recommends having a licensed and registered tradesperson carry out the installation. Newtech cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from the installation and use of the lights not carried out in accordance with these instructions or for materials not supplied by Newtech.

Installation Instructions

Luma Glow LED Lights
This electrical appliance is intended to create a backlighting effect under a vanity or mirror cabinet.

  • ELECTRICAL
    • The Luma-Glow transformer is designed to be plugged into an isolating power socket located inside the cabinet. If the Luma-Glow is going to be hard wired in, it must be wired in with an isolating switch by a registered electrician.
  • MOUNTING
    • The Luma-Glow should be mounted on the under face of the cabinet (vanity or mirror) as close to the wall as possible to get best effect. The transformer is best mounted inside the cabinet away from contact area. Recommended screw for aluminum extrusion is 4g x 16mm to avoid damage to translucent cover channel.

INSTALLATION

  • Remove translucent cover from extrusion (see Figure 1.0)
  • Drill holes to suit screw being used. Recommended 4g x 16mm (see Figure 2.0)
  • Mark and drill Ø8mm hole in bottom of cabinet for wires to thread through. Hole location needs to take into account any back panel in the cabinet. The white wiring grommet should locate into this hole (see Figure 3.0)
  • Remove Luma-Glow wiring from transformer, fit Luma-Glow in place under cabinet. Fit transformer in cabinet. Reconnect Luma-Glow wires to transformer, taking into account the positive and negative terminals. Pin or tape wires to avoid any entanglement.
  • Refit the Luma-Glow translucent cover by squeezing back into extrusion channels
