ozobot STEAM Kits Sundial
Product Information
This product is a sundial with a light stand. It includes a sundial board, a wheel, a black stand, and a flashlight.
Product Usage Instructions
- Punch out all of the black stand pieces from the board.
- Slot the single black foot base into two longer shade pieces to form the shade of the light stand.
- Insert the included flashlight into the sundial through two of the side cutouts for the Sun, facing the flashlight towards the base of the sundial.
- Insert the four wooden tabs through the four rectangular holes along the edge of the shade, with the numbers facing inwards.
- Place the provided wheel in the wheel notch at the top of the sundial.

What Time Is It, Sundial?
Make copies of the What Time Is It, Sundial? Activity Sheet. (1 per student) -
Assemble the Sundial and the flashlight holder according to the instructions.

Follow the instructions on the What Time Is It, Sundial? Activity Sheet.

Evo’s Time Challenge Activity
Make copies of the Evo’s Time Challenge Activity Sheet (1 per student). Note that students will need an Evo, and a compatible device to run an Ozobot Blockly program for this activity. -
Follow the instructions on the Activity Sheet. Students will run the program and record the time when the bot stops. Then, they will create a comic to sequence Ozobot’s day.

Tip: Dim the lights in the classroom for better visibility of the model.
Instructions for running an Ozobot Blockly program on your Evo.
- Enter the URL found on the activity sheet in a browser window.
- If you’re using an iPad, open the program. Then load the program using the flashloading option found at the bottom of the workspace. Click the power button twice to run the program.
- If you’re on any other device, open the program. Click the bot icon on the right side of the Ozobot Blockly workspace and follow the on-screen instructions to connect a bot. Click “Run Program” to begin the activity.
