If your Motorized roller shade requires power, check the motor power and wiring requirements before you begin installation of your motorized roller shade. Once power is run to the motor, make sure power is turned off before you begin installation. Some motors are powered by internal Lithium-Ion batteries and do not need an external power source.
Before mounting any brackets to a surface make sure proper backing is in place to mount to. Roller shades should never be mounted to drywall without a proper backing.
The tape around the shade should not be removed until the shade is fully installed.
REY LARGE BRACKET DISASSEMBLY
INSIDE OR OUTSIDE APPLICATION
First, measure and mark the ordered width of the shade inside or outside the
window casement.
(Inside or outside applications will be determined by ordered mounting type).
(A minimum 3 1/2” vertical surface is required to mount the brackets).
MOUNTING LOCATION
Place your first bracket in its mounting location and mark the screw holes. Place your second bracket in its mounting location and repeat the process.
SCREW INSTALLATION
Next, pre-drill your screw holes using a 1/8” drill bit. Install the brackets with the provided screws using the 1/4” hex head driver.
ALIGNMENT
Check to make sure your brackets are level and aligned.
NOTE:
If your roller shade motor requires a cable for power be sure to allow extra slack to connect the cable to the motor head. If your roller shade motor is battery powered, be sure your antenna is exposed for better reception.
ALTERNATE: Somfy RS485 (SDN) application wiring
MOTOR & SHADE INSTALLATION
Insert the motor head into the motor side bracket tab. While holding the shade in place, press the pin end of the idle side. *Slide the Idle Bushing (B.) idle side of the shade into the bracket (C.). Make sure the Idle Bushing is secured before releasing the idle end of the shade.
MOTOR RETAINER
Once the shade is mounted, before you install the back and front bracket covers, lock the motor retianer in the upward position.
PROGRAMMING
Remove the tape around the shade and begin programming. (Programming is based on the motor type). After programming has been completed lower the shade to it’s lower limit. Begin step 8.
*BACK BRACKET COVERS
Install the back bracket covers by aligning forward and inserting the covers into place. After installing the back cover, raise the shade to it’s upper limit. Begin step 9. Note: the covers are magnetic and will not require any additional tools.
FRONT BRACKET COVERS
Once the motor has been programmed and tested, raise the roller shade to its top limit. Install the front bracket covers by aligning and slipping the covers into place. Note: the covers are magnetic and do not need additional tools.
TESTING
Raise and lower the shade for final testing. You have now completed the installation.
