  • Basic appliance:
Use a damp cloth for cleaning. Make sure that no water finds its way inside the appliance. Observe the safety instructions as well.

  • Non-stick grill plate & cheese holder:
The non-stick grill plate and the cheese holder can be washed up in water and washing-up liquid

Workplace

Important:
Never place this device on or next to hot surfaces (e.g. hot stoves). Only use it on a even, stable and a heat-resisting surface. It is important that no inflammable items are near to the device. Do not place the device on the edge of the table so that it cannot be touched by children or fall down when touched.

Getting started

  • Connect the device.
  • Turn the temperature selector to “max”. The grilling surface has to be preheated before placing any food on top of it. The preheating time is approx. 15 minutes. The thermostat clocks.
  • Turn the temperature selector to the desired heating power.

Melting cheese:

  • Swivel the cheese holder outwards and place a block of cheese on top. The cheese must not protrude beyond the 17×7 cm support surface. If the cheese has a rind, it must be on the side and against the scraping direction.

  • Swivel the holder with the cheese back inwards and adjust the height using the height adjuster (depending on the height of the block of cheese).

  • Attention! The cheese must not touch the heating elements!

  • As soon as the surface of the cheese has melted and has the desired browning,
swivel the holder outwards by the handle. Place a plate underneath and tilt the holder with the cheese using the handle. To do this, push the handle backwards. ∙ Scrape the melted cheese onto the plate with a knife.

  • If necessary, carefully remove any excess cheese rind with a knife.

  • Straighten the holder with the cheese and slide it back under the heating elements. If necessary, you can adjust the height.

Grill surface:

  • Small pieces of meat, fish or vegetables can be prepared on the grill surface.
  • Important note: Cold-pressed oils, such as olive oil should not be used as drip-ping as these oils have a poor quality at high temperatures. Due to the high grill temperatures (up to 250°C), residues of oil, juices, herbs, etc. build up on the hot grill surface and the non-stick effect decreases. It is hard or impossible to remove these residues from the grilling plate. Therefore, only use heat-resistant oils!
  • Attention! Depending on the fat content of the food, it may splatter!
