SOMOGYI ELEKTRONICS SFP 42 Stand Fan with Remote Control

Product Information

The SFP 42 is a fan that comes with a control panel and a remote control receiver window. It has a natural wind mode and a night mode and can be set to operate for up to 2 hours using the off-timer button. The fan has 3-speed settings and an under-current indicator light. It comes with a stand that has an inner and outer tube, and a carrying handle on the back grid. The fan also has a high-speed, middle-speed, and low-speed indicator, as well as a power button.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Assemble the fan according to the instructions in the user manual.
  2. Plug the fan into a power source.
  3. Press the power button to turn the fan on.
  4. Select the desired speed using the operation mode selector button.
  5. To set the off timer, press the off timer button and then select the desired time using the 0.5 hours, 1 hour, or 2 hours indicator buttons.
  6. To activate the natural wind mode, press the natural wind mode indicator button.
  7. To activate the night mode, press the night mode indicator button.
  8. To turn off the fan, press the power button again.
  9. If the under-current indicator light is on, turn off the fan and unplug it from the power source before attempting to fix any issues.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ CAREFULLY AND SAVE FOR FUTURE USE!

WARNINGS

  1. Before use of the product, please read these instructions manual and keep it for future reference. The original document was prepared in Hungarian language.

  2. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years or above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been given instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Children may perform the cleaning or user maintenance of the appliance subject to supervision.

  3. Make sure that the appliance was not damaged during shipping.

  4. Do not use the appliance in environments where flammable vapours or explosive dust may be
    released. Do not use in an inflammable or explosive atmosphere.

  5. Operate the appliance under constant supervision at all times.

  6. Do not operate the appliance near children without supervision.

  7. Use it only under dry, indoor conditions. Protect it from humid environments (e.g., bathroom, swimming pool).

  8. DO NOT use the appliance near a bathtub, washbasin, shower, swimming pool or sauna.

  9. Do not use the appliance in motor vehicles or confined spaces (<5 m2) (e.g., elevators).

  10. If you are not going to use the appliance for an extended period, turn it off and unplug the power\ cord.

  11. Always unplug the appliance before moving it.

  12. Always move it by grabbing the recessed carrying handle.

  13. If you notice any irregularities (such as unusual noise from the appliance or burning smell), switch off and unplug the appliance immediately.

  14. Make sure that no objects or liquids can enter the appliance through the openings.

  15. Protect from dust, moisture, sunlight and direct heat.

  16. Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power supply by pulling out the plug.

  17. Before removing or reinstalling the protective grid, disconnect the fan by pulling out the plug.

  18. Never touch the appliance or the power cord with wet hands.

  19. Only connect the device to sockets with a 230V~ / 50Hz rated supply voltage.

  20. Always fully unroll the supply cable.

  21. Do not run the power cord across the device.

  22. Do not run the power cord under carpets, mats, etc.

  23. Keep the appliance in a place, where the power supply plug can be easily reached and unplugged.

  24. Run the power supply cable so that it cannot be accidentally disconnected, and it does not create a risk of stumbling.

  25. Battery replacement must be performed by an adult!

  26. Ensure that the polarity is correct when placing in the batteries.

  27. Do not use batteries of different brands and/or levels of charge together.

  28. After replacing the batteries, put the lid on the battery compartment.

  29. If the device is not used for a longer period, remove the batteries.

  30. If any fluids have leaked from the batteries, clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth wearing protective gloves.

  31. Remove any depleted batteries right away.

  32. Caution! Incorrect battery replacement can cause explosion hazard. Only use equivalent, or interchangeable batteries for replacement.

  33. Do not expose batteries to direct heat or sunlight. Never open, place into fire or short circuit the batteries.

  34. Never charge non-rechargeable batteries. Explosion hazard!

  35. Do not replace the battery with a rechargeable battery, as the voltage and efficiency are lower!

  36. Do not weld or solder anything directly to the batteries!

  37. Store unused batteries in their original packaging and away from metal objects.

  38. Do not mix together the already unpackaged batteries.

Danger of electric shock! It is forbidden to disassemble or alter the appliance or its accessories. If any part is damaged, immediately disconnect the appliance and contact a specialist. If the mains cord is damaged, have it replaced by the manufacturer, their authorised service agent or a similarly qualified professional! The remote control is not a toy, keep it away from children!

ASSEMBLING AND SETTING UP THE DEVICE

  1. Carefully remove the packing material and avoid damaging the plastic cover with scissors or a knife.
  2. Attach the lower part of the stand to the circular weight with the 4 screws. The nuts should be on top.
  3. Cover the weights and screws with the circular cover (37) and the cover disc (10). If necessary, temporarily remove the height fastening ring (9).
  4. Pull out the inner tube of the stand and fix it with the height fastening ring (9).
  5. Loosen the fastening ring (7) and fit the upper part of the fan with the engine onto the inner tube of the stand (8). Tighten the fastening ring (7).
  6. Place the back of the grid (5) on the engine so that the holes in the grid fit the pins on the engine. The small hole in the edge of the grid should be positioned at the bottom. Secure the back grid with the plastic screw (4).
  7. Place the blade (3) on the engine shaft and secure with the left-hand blade fastening bolt (2).
  8. Hang the front grid on top of the back one. Fix the front and back sections of the grid together at the bottom using the small screw and nut (14).
  9. Finally, complete the assembly by folding down the grid fixing tabs.
  10. Place the appliance on a solid, level surface, keeping it away from direct heat and open flame.
  11. Insert 1 x 3 V (CR2025) button cell in the remote control. Make sure to observe the correct polarity.
  12. Connect the appliance to the mains (230 V~ / 50 Hz).

CLEANING

To ensure the optimal operation of the device, you need to clean it on a monthly basis at least, or when it becomes dirty.

  1. Before cleaning, turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply by pulling out the plug.
  2. Caution! Remove the front part of the protective grid when the fan is de-energized!
  3. Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents! Do not let water leak inside the appliance or spill on electrical components.
  4. Caution! Remove the front part of the protective grid when the fan is de-energized!
  5. Restart the fan.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The fan does not turn on. Check the mains power supply.
The fan does not respond to the remote control signals. Check the status of

the battery cells of the remote control.

DISPOSAL
Waste equipment must be collected and disposed of separately from household waste because it may contain components hazardous to the environment or health. Used or waste equipment may be dropped off free of charge at the point of sale, or at any distributor which sells equipment of identical nature and function. Dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself. If you have any questions, contact the local waste management organization. We shall undertake the tasks pertinent to the manufacturer as prescribed in the relevant regulations and shall bear any associated costs arising.

DISPOSING OF ALKALINE AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
Batteries, whether alkaline or rechargeable, must not be handled together with regular household waste. It is the legal obligation of the product’s user to dispose of batteries at a nearby collection center or at a retail shop. This ensures that the batteries are ultimately neutralized in an environment- friendly way.

OPERATION OF THE FAN
The following functions can be selected using either the fan push buttons or the remote control. Oscillation can only be selected with the remote control. The selected functions are indicated by blue LEDs. The connected status is indicated by a “POWER”-LED (21). Use the POWER or ON/OFF button on the remote control to switch the fan on or off. Use the SPEED button to select between low, medium and high fan speeds. The MODE button selects normal, natural wind and night mode. In night and natural wind modes, the fan speed is changed according to the built-in program, which takes into account the selected fan speed. With the TIMER button, you can set the time in 0.5 hour increments up to 7.5 hours after which the fan should switch off. The remaining time is the sum of the LEDs (0.5H, 1H, 2H, 4H). By pressing the OSC button on the remote control, you can switch on/off the right-left oscillating movement of the fan.
