GRIP-IT HANDLEBAR TAPE

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing this Profile Design product. These instructions apply to the Grip-It handlebar tape.
Please read these instructions thoroughly before attempting to install this item. Proper installation is required for compliance with Profile Design’s warranty policy. If you are not familiar with installation of bicycle accessories, please seek the assistance of your local Profile design dealer by logging on to www.profile-design.com and using “dealer search” or by calling Profile Design’s customer service number p.# 888.800.5999.
Note to Dealers: If you install this product for the consumer, please provide him/her with this owner’s manual after installation.
Tools and materials required:

Sharp Scissors
Insulation (electrical) tape

Your Handlebar Tape should contain:

Two (2) 200x3cm strips of handlebar tape
Two (2) strips of finishing tape
Two (2) plastic bar end plugs

If anything is missing from the tape kit please contact your dealer.

PART DRAWINGS

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Ensure the area to be taped is clean.
Starting from the end of the handlebar.
a. Tuck some tape into the end.
b. Push a bar end plug in to hold the tape in place.
c. Start wrapping around the bar, aiming for even spacing.
d. Use either an offcut or do full wrap for the shifters.
Once you have wrapped all the way to the centre section of the bar.
a. Cut the tape diagonally to give a tidy finish.
b. Apply a wrap of insulation tape to hold the bar tape in place.
c. Check that you are satisfied with the application of the bar tape then wrap the finishing tape over the insulation tape.
Repeat with the other side.
