Product Information
The product is a coupler designed to be welded or bolted onto a trailer tongue. It is designed to be used with a 1 7/8 hitch ball and has a maximum working load of 2,000 lb (907 kg) for a max trailer weight. The coupler should be kept off the ground to prevent damage and dirt build-up. The installation and attachment of the product are critical and beyond the control of Winston Products, LLC.
Product Usage Instructions

Read all warnings and instructions before installation.

Use only a 1 7/8 hitch ball with the coupler designed for a 1 7/8 hitch ball.

At no time should the maximum working load of the coupler be exceeded.

Ensure that the coupler is kept off the ground to prevent damage and dirt build-up.

The coupler can be welded or bolted onto the trailer tongue.
Refer to Figures 1-3 for welding instructions. -
Check the coupler and mounting hardware regularly, especially after the first 10 miles (16 km) after installation. Oil moving parts to prevent rust build-up.

READ ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION
- WARNING: USE ONLY A 1 7/8” HITCH BALL WITH COUPLER FOR 1 7/8” HITCH BALL.
- WARNING: AT NO TIME SHOULD THE MAXIMUM WORKING LOAD OF THE COUPLER BE EXCEEDED. THE MAXIMUM WORKING LOAD FOR THE COUPLER IS 2,000 LB (907 KG) MAX TRAILER WEIGHT.
- WARNING: KEEP COUPLER OFF THE GROUND TO PREVENT DAMAGE AND DIRT BUILD UP.
INSTRUCTIONS NOTES:
THIS COUPLER IS DESIGNED TO BE WELDED OR BOLTED ONTO TRAILER TONGUE.
WELD INSTRUCTIONS
(WITHOUT SPACERS ONLY.)
- SET WELDER TO 105-115 AMPS AND 18-22 VOLTS.
- USE NUMBER E6011 A.W.S. WELDING ROD.
- WELD 1/8” FILLET WELD AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1.
BOLT INSTRUCTIONS
- CHECK THE COUPLER AND TRAILER TONGUE TOUCH FULLY BEFORE INSTALL.
- USE FOUR (4) 3/8” BOLTS THROUGH SIDE HOLES (FIGURE 2).
- TORQUE TO 20 FT-LB (27 N-M).
- AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD: USE TWO (2) 3/8” GRADE 5 THROUGH BOLTS WITH LOCKNUTS (FIGURE 3). TORQUE TO A MINIMUM OF 20 FT-LB (27 N-M). TAKE CARE AS NOT TO DAMAGE THE COUPLER DURING INSTALLATION.
