Product Information

The product is a solar-powered decorative light that is intended for outdoor use only. It comes with a 1.2V AA NiCd rechargeable battery with a rating of 300mAh. The running time of the product when fully charged is 8 hours.

The product contains a NiCd battery that must be recycled or disposed of properly. It is fragile and has sharp edges that may be exposed if weathered or damaged. The product is not a toy, and children should not be allowed to play with or near it.

The product should be assembled according to the provided instructions. Failure to do so can create hazards. Safety goggles should be worn during setup, and the assembly area should be clean and well-lit. Product Usage Instructions

1. Unscrew the three screws from the Battery Cover located on the back of the Solar Panel and remove it from the Solar Panel.
2. Insert the Battery into the battery housing, paying attention to the polarity, and replace the Battery Cover, securing it with the three screws.
3. Set the Decorative Light onto the Top Tube and slide the Top Tube into the Bottom Tube. Slide the Stake onto the Bottom Tube.
4. Repeat step 3 for the other two light sets.
5. Ensure that the solar light is securely staked into the ground before use.
6. Inspect the product before every use and do not use it if parts are loose or damaged or if sharp edges are exposed.
7. Maintain product labels and nameplates as they carry important safety information. If they are unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
8. If any parts are missing or broken, call 1-888-866-5797 as soon as possible.

Assembly Instructions

Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram near the end of this manual.

Assembly

1. On the back of the Solar Panel, unscrew the three screws from the Battery Cover and remove from the Solar Panel.
   • Insert Battery into the battery housing paying attention to the polarity.
   • Replace the Battery Cover and secure with the three screws.
2. Set Decorative Light onto the Top Tube. Slide the Top Tube into the Bottom Tube. Slide the Stake onto the Bottom Tube.
3. Repeat for the other two light sets.

Tool Set Up

1. Decide where you want to place the Solar Light Set. Choose a location that receives full, direct sunlight a minimum of eight hours a day. The location should not be near nighttime light sources such as porch lights or streetlights as this will cause the Solar Light Set to remain off.
2. Make certain that the path of the Stake is clear of lines, cables and conduits.
3. Remove stake from the Bottom Tube and with wooden mallet (not included), gently tap the Stake into the ground.
4. Once the Stake is securely in the ground, attach Light assembly onto the Stake.
5. Set power switch on the under side of the Solar Panel to OFF and allow at least 8 hours of charge time before first use.

General Operating Instructions

Note: During the day, the Solar Panel converts sunlight into electricity, recharging the battery. The amount of light the Solar Panel receives depends on placement of the Solar Light, geographic location and weather. If the weather is cloudy and the panel did not receive a full charge, the Solar Light may not achieve the full hours of operating time. It will catch up on its own after two to three days of full sun.

1. After a full 8 hours of sunlight charging, turn the Solar Light’s power switch ON. The Solar Light will automatically turn on at dusk.
2. After the initial charge is set, confirm the Solar Light is on by viewing the light at night or in a dark location. If not on, make sure the Solar Light has had full sunlight for 8 hours and its power switch is turned ON.

Maintenance

TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.

1. Clean regularly with a damp towel.
   Do not use any type of solvent for cleaning. Do not put too much pressure on the Light or Solar Panel while cleaning. Dry thoroughly.

2. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for:

   • leaking, swollen, or cracked battery,
   • loose hardware,
   • misalignment or binding of parts,
   • cracked or broken parts, and
   • any other condition that may affect its safe operation.

3. Replace the battery every 12 months.

   • Gently remove the Solar Panel from Light assembly.
   • Unscrew three screws from the Battery Cover and remove from the Solar Panel.
   • Remove the old battery.
   • Install a new NiCd AA 1.2V 300mAh battery into the battery compartment, noting correct polarity.
   • Replace the cover and secure in place with the three screws.
   • Contains NiCd battery. Battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Do not open, crush, or incinerate.

Troubleshooting

1. Power Switch not set to “On”.
2. Battery not allowed time for recharging via Solar Panel.
3. Solar Light is set near nighttime light sources such as porch lights or street lights
4. Solar Panel is dirty and covered with dirt or dust.

1. Check position of Power Switch.
2. Check that Solar Panel has direct access to sunlight. Allow one to two days for a full charge.
3. Move Solar Light or change Solar Panel position.
4. Clean Solar Panel with a soft cloth.
