Handling The Remote Control

Location Of The Remote Control
Use the remote control within a distance of 26.25 ft (8 m) from the appliance, pointing it towards the receiver. A reception will be confirmed by a beep.

CAUTION

  • The air conditioner will not operate if curtains, doors or other materials block the signals from the remote control to the indoor unit.
  • This remote control emits infrared (IR) signals to control your air conditioner via the IR receiver located in the indoor unit. Be aware that other devices that emit an IR signal or contain an IR receiver may cause interference. If this occurs, take immediate corrective action and contact MRCOOL.
  • DO NOT allow any liquid to enter the remote control.
  • DO NOT expose the remote control to direct sunlight or heat. If the infrared signal receiver on the indoor unit is exposed to direct sunlight, the air conditioner may not function properly. Use curtains to prevent the sunlight from shining directly on the receiver.
  • DO NOT drop the remote control. Handle it with care.
  • DO NOT place heavy objects on the remote control, or step on it.

Using the Remote Control Holder

  • The remote control can be attached to a wall or pillar by installing a remote control holder.
  • Before installing the remote control holder, check that the air conditioner receives the signals properly.
  • Install the remote control holder with two screws. As shown in the image to the right.
  • For installing or removing the remote control from the holder, move it up or down in the holder.

Replacing the Batteries
The following cases signify exhausted batteries. To fix this, replace the old batteries with new batteries.

  • Receiving beep is not emitted when a signal is transmitted from the remote to the unit.
  • The indicator fades away.

The remote control is powered by two dry batteries (R03/LR03X2) housed in the rear compartment beneath the protective cover. To replace the batteries, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control.
  2. Remove the old batteries and insert the new batteries, being sure to place the (+) and (-) ends correctly.
  3. Reinstall the cover.

NOTE : When the batteries are removed, the remote control erases all of the previous programming. After inserting new batteries, the remote control must be reprogrammed.

CAUTION

  • DO NOT mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types.
  • DO NOT leave the batteries in the remote controller if is not going to be used for 2 or 3 months.
  • DO NOT dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately is necessary because it requires special treatment to be disposed of properly.

FAQS

What does the “Mode” button do?
The “Mode” button allows you to select different operating modes for your air conditioner. Pressing this button will cycle through the available options such as Cool, Heat, Fan, and Auto.

What does the “Swing” or “Airflow” button do?
The “Swing” or “Airflow” button controls the direction of the airflow. Pressing this button activates or deactivates the oscillation feature, allowing the air to be distributed evenly across the room.

What are the settings on Mr Cool?

The mode button allows you to change the settings from auto, to cool, dry, heat, and fan. The fan button lets you set the fan speed to auto, low, medium, and high. Next is the sleep button. You can press this button when you’re ready to go to sleep.

How much clearance does a Mr Cool indoor unit need?

For example, we get a lot of these questions for the MrCool DIY. There needs to be at least 5.9 inches from the top of the air handler to the ceiling. It is very important that you have that space because the air handler pulls in a lot of air from the top.

What is Mr Cool’s self-clean mode?

Under SELF-CLEAN mode, the air conditioner will automatically clean and dry the evaporator and keep it fresh for the next operation. 6. AUTO. COOL.

What temperature is the cool setting?

To stay comfortable and save money this summer, the U.S. Department of Energy recommends setting your thermostat to 78°F (26°C) when you are home. Setting your air conditioner to this level will allow you to stay cool and avoid an unusually high electricity bill.

What is the difference between dry and cool on MrCool?

Dry mode in the AC takes care of the humidity levels in the room. Cool mode, on the other hand, is usually the default mode of air conditioners, cooling the room by removing heat—not moisture—from the air.

What is the lowest heat setting on MrCool?

For example, the lowest temperature setting on the MrCool DIY is 62 degrees. Most mini-splits are not going to let you set the temperature down to 50 degrees. But if you’re going to be out of the house for a few weeks in the winter, setting the temperature down to a lower temperature is a good idea.

What is the best temperature for AC at night?

Sleeping in a room with the air conditioner set to an appropriate temperature is important for quality sleep. The ideal AC temperature for sleeping is around 65°F (18.3°C).

How does MrCool system work?

The indoor unit fan blows the warm air across a coil containing refrigerant that absorbs the heat, cooling it down. The cool air gets circulated throughout the home. The refrigerant that absorbed the heat energy evaporates into a gas, which gets compressed and sent outside via the outdoor unit.
