Description

The standard for high-quality video and gaming is now 60 frames per second. With the increased frame rate of 2D material (up to 60 fps) and full 4K 3D resolution that our Fosmon HDMI switch provides. The Fosmon HDMI switcher is compatible with 4K at 60 frames per second, 3D, 1080p, HDCP, and uncompressed and compressed audio. Playing on a PS4 PRO is as smooth as ever, and so is switching to a PS3, Xbox One, Roku Fire TV, Blu-ray player, or Nintendo Switch/Wii. Adding more ports to your TV doesn’t have to break the bank, thanks to this 2-Port HDMI switch. The HDMI input can be switched from two inputs to one output, or from one input to two outputs (but not simultaneously). Due in part to the high-quality PC board, signal loss, and screen flickering are kept to a minimum. It’s Plug and Play and runs off of the power of your HDMI source; no additional power supply is needed.

2 Input 1 Output or 1 Input 2 Output

Connect two high-definition HDMI sources like a Blu-ray player or PlayStation 4 to a single HDMI display using the Fosmon HDMI Switch with Bi-Directional feature and HDCP Passthrough. It can also send a single HD signal to two different screens.

Powered from Connected Devices

This switch does not require an external power supply because it receives electricity across the HDMI cable from the connected devices.

How To Use

  1. Determine the HDMI inputs your switcher has. Connect your HDMI-enabled devices (such as a game console, Blu-ray player, or set-top box) to the switcher’s HDMI input ports. Verify that everything is operational by turning on the power.
  2. Find the switcher’s HDMI output port. If your TV, monitor, or projector has an HDMI input, you can connect the cable here.
  3. Connect the HDMI switcher’s power cord to a wall socket. The router will boot up and begin identifying the attached gadgets.
  4. On the switcher itself or its remote, you’ll see an “Input” or “Source” button. To use a certain device, use this button to cycle through the list of available inputs. On the other hand, some switchers have a built-in sensor that determines which input source is now being used.
  5. The content from the selected input source should be displayed on the HDMI output device (TV, monitor, or projector). You now have full control over the linked device.
  6. You can change the source by pressing the “Input” or “Source” buttons on the switcher itself or its remote control.

How To Connect To Devices

  1. Put one end of an HDMI cable into the HDMI port of your first gadget (the game console in this case). Put the other end of the cable into one of the switcher’s HDMI inputs (say, Input 1).
  2. Connect one end of another HDMI cable to the HDMI output port on the second device (such as a Blu-ray player). Use the switcher’s second available HDMI input port, say Input 2, to attach the cable’s other end.
  3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the switcher’s HDMI output port (sometimes called Out or Output). Get an HDMI cable and plug the other end into your TV, monitor, or projector’s HDMI input.
  4. Make that the switcher and the screen are both turned on and connected.
  5. Locate the “Input” or “Source” button on the switcher or its remote. To use a certain device, use this button to cycle through the list of available inputs.
  6. When the proper input device is chosen, the content from that device will be displayed on the screen. You now have full control over the linked device.

How To Maintain

  1. Make sure there is no buildup of dust or debris on the switcher’s surface or in the HDMI ports by regularly dusting them down. The switcher can be cleaned using a soft, lint-free cloth.
  2. It is important to handle HDMI cables with care to avoid breaking the connectors or damaging the internal wires. Keep the cables from getting bent or twisted too much, and make sure they aren’t under any unnecessary pressure.
  3. Make sure the switcher’s HDMI cables are not being strained under any circumstances. Signal quality and reliability can be compromised if the cables are overstressed.
  4. Put the switcher somewhere with plenty of airflows. The switcher might overheat if its ventilation ports are blocked.
  5. The switcher’s efficiency and longevity can be negatively impacted by being placed in direct sunlight or subjected to extremely high temperatures. Place it in a cool, dry place where the temperature is consistent.
  6. Take care not to drop or otherwise damage the switcher while you make adjustments to the cable connections or relocate it.
  7. For information on how to properly maintain your particular model of Fosmon’s HDMI switcher, please consult the user manual.

How To Clean

  1. Wipe the switcher’s exterior with a gentle, lint-free cloth (a microfiber cloth is ideal for this). Dust and fingerprints will be wiped away.
  2. Use pressurized air from a can to blow out any dust or debris from the HDMI ports. To clean the HDMI ports, hold the can upright and use quick bursts of air to blast away dust and debris. This aids in ensuring stable connections.
  3. Switcher damage can be caused by using liquid cleansers, sprays, or solvents. Instead, use compressed air or a dry cloth.
  4. A soft brush (like a clean, dry toothbrush with soft bristles) can be used to gently brush away tenacious dirt and debris that is difficult to remove using a cloth or compressed air. Avoid breaking the connectors by handling them carefully.
  5. If you’ve cleaned the switcher using compressed air or a brush, give it a few minutes to air out before reconnecting it to power or turning it back on.

FAQ’s

What is an HDMI switcher?

An HDMI switcher is a device that allows you to connect multiple HDMI input sources (such as gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, or streaming devices) to a single HDMI output device (like a TV, monitor, or projector). It enables you to switch between different input sources and display their content on the output device.

Why would I need an HDMI switcher?

You may need an HDMI switcher if you have more HDMI devices than available HDMI ports on your TV or display device. It allows you to expand the number of HDMI devices you can connect and easily switch between them.

How does an HDMI switcher work?

An HDMI switcher works by receiving HDMI signals from multiple input devices and transmitting the selected input signal to the output device. It essentially acts as a hub or selector, allowing you to choose which device's signal is displayed on the output device.

How do I switch between different input sources?

Most HDMI switchers provide buttons on the device itself or come with a remote control. You can use these buttons or the remote control to select the desired input source. Some switchers also offer automatic switching, which detects the active input source and switches to it automatically.

Do HDMI switchers degrade the video or audio quality?

A properly functioning HDMI switcher should not degrade the video or audio quality. However, using low-quality or long HDMI cables or overloading the switcher with too many devices can potentially introduce signal degradation. It's recommended to use high-quality HDMI cables and adhere to the switcher's specifications for optimal performance.

Can I use an HDMI switcher with different HDMI versions or resolutions?

Yes, HDMI switchers are generally compatible with different HDMI versions and resolutions. However, it's important to ensure that the switcher supports the desired HDMI version and resolution to ensure proper functionality.

Can I use an HDMI switcher with other audio/video connections?

HDMI switchers are designed specifically for HDMI connections. If you have devices with different audio/video connections (such as VGA, DVI, or DisplayPort), you would need separate adapters or converters to connect them to the HDMI switcher.

How many devices can I connect to an HDMI switcher?

The number of devices you can connect to an HDMI switcher depends on the specific model. HDMI switchers are available with varying numbers of input ports, typically ranging from 2 to 8 ports or more.

Can I daisy-chain HDMI switchers?
