Introduction

Fosmon 3-ln 1-Out HDMI Intelligent Pigtail Switch with 50cm HDMI Cable

Thank you for purchasing this Fosmon product. Please read this user manual carefully before operating and keep it for future reference. Ran out of HDMI ports? Wanting to reduce cable clutter? Now you can do all that with Fosmon 3 Ports HDMI Intelligent Pigtail Switch with 50cm HDMI Cable. It has 3 HDMI input sources to provide plug-and-forget auto-sensing capability that switches input automatically when a signal is detected. It also has a source select button on the switch to provide flexibility for you to manually switch between 3 sources.

Note

Plug-and-forget auto-sensing function only works correctly for devices that do not output continuous voltage over the HDMI port when turned off. Powering on a device gives the switch output priority over the other 2 devices. Output priority is switched back to the last powered-on device if the current in-use device is turned off.

Does this function with the brand-new Amazon Fire TV gadget and a Blu- ray player?****

Yes, I set up a cable matters switch with a Blu-ray player, Fire TV, and Fios Box at a friend’s house and it works beautifully.

A “pigtail” cable is what? Is it unique compared to other cables?****

Pigtail refers to the end that has an HDMI cable “out” permanently attached. There’s no need to acquire a second HDMI cable.

No, 1080p quality is still sent. It works perfectly for my Xbox and PS3, which I use for.

I want to be able to flip between cable and Netflix on my one-port TV without getting out of bed. Is there a device that can do that?****

This apparatus does not have a remote switch. To swap, you’ll have to get out of bed. Each connected item has a button on the extension that you push to leave.

Please specify if this is input to output or output to input.****

1 output from 3 inputs. The output is connected to the TV’s HDMI input.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you should only utilize one of the three ports at once. When using the other 3, only use one at a time, but plug the main into my TV port.****

Yes, one by one. It’s ideal for a TV with a single HDMI connector, though. I use it with a TV that only has one port for my DVD player, cable box, and Apple TV. It serves this role quite well, but you can only use one at once.

Has this ever been used with an Apple TV? Since it goes to sleep after a while as opposed to being manually switched off?****

It may be used with Apple TV, but you must additionally put in the power adapter.

Deep Color can produce more accurate color than True Color.

What is the difference between HDCP and DVI?****

HDCP is a copy protection technology for HDMI devices, while DVI is not. HDCP has been built into HDMI since version 1.2a, which was released in 2003, while DVI has been around since 1995, which means that most DVI devices are not HDCP compliant. The maximum supported video resolution for a single display with a single HDMI cable is 1920×1080 pixels at 24Hz (or 25Hz). If you want to connect more than one display to your computer, you will need either a dual- head graphics card or an active HDMI splitter/switcher that can support multiple displays.
