C Cattleya CA2284-W 1-Light Matte Motion Sensing Dusk Wall Lantern Sconce

Product Information

The product is a CA2284-W fixture that has a motion sensor and can be used for outdoor lighting. The fixture has two brightness levels, low and high. At dusk, the light will turn on at low-level brightness (30% brightness). When motion is detected, the light will turn to high-level brightness (100% brightness) and stay on as long as the motion is continuing. The light will revert to low-level brightness about 120 seconds after motion is no longer detected. The motion sensor has three sensitivity levels, with the least sensitive being on the left and the most sensitive being on the right. The fixture has one red LED on motion sensor flashing three times when motion is detected. Until dawn, the lights will turn off in about 120 seconds after the motion is no longer detected.

Product Usage Instructions

Before installing or servicing the fixture, make sure to shut off the power to avoid the risk of electrical shock. The fixture should not be installed in a location where it may confront any jets of air conditions or strong airflow.

When using the fixture, follow the instructions below

  1. Choose the location where you want to install the fixture.
  2. Mount the fixture according to FIG.1, which shows an 8.0′ distance between the fixture and the ground and a 6.0′ distance between fixtures.
  3. Adjust the sensitivity level of the motion sensor according to FIG.3. The least sensitive level is on the left, and the most sensitive level is on the right.
  4. Turn on the power.
  5. The fixture will turn on at low-level brightness at dusk. When motion is detected, it will turn to high-level brightness and stay on as long as motion is detected. After motion is no longer detected, the light will revert to low-level brightness after about 120 seconds.
  6. If you want the fixture to always stay on at high-level brightness, turn off the midnight lamp.
  7. If you want the fixture to turn off completely, turn off the power.

To work properly. you should install this fixture NOT confront any jets of air conditions or strong airflow

  1. Attach the mounting plate to the out let box by using two mounting screws.
  2. Pull out the wires and grounding wire from the outlet box. Make wire connections using the wire nuts, as follow:
    • Connect the hot wire(usually black insulation)from the fixture to the black wire from the power source.
    • Connect the neutral wire(usually white insulation)from the fixture to the white wire from the power source.
    • Attach the fixture grounding wire(usually green insulation or bare wire)to the mounting strap with the green grounding screw. Then connect it to the house grounding wire with the wire nut. Carefully put the wires back into the outlet box.
  3. Attach the back p I ate to the mounting palate by inserting the screws, then secure it with two nuts.
CAUTION: With silicon caulking coq round, caulk coq lately around where the back plate meets with the wall surface to prevent water from seeping into the out let box.

Turn on the power at fuse or circuit box.

LOW

  • Turn off the midnight lamp
  • At dusk, the light will turn off , When motion is detected, ,the light will turn to high-level brightness (100% brightness), and stay on as long as the motion is continuing. The light will turn off after motion is no longer detected.
  • There is one red LED on motion sensor flashing 3 times when motion is detected. Until dawn, the lights will turn off in about 120 seconds after the motion is no longer detected.

HIGH

  • At dusk, the light will turn on at low-level brightness (30% brightness). When motion is detected, ,the light will turn to high-level brightness (100% brightness), and stay on as long as the motion is continuing. The light will revert to low-level brightness about 120 seconds after motion is no longer detected.
  • There is one red LED on motion sensor flashing 3 times when motion is detected. Until dawn, the lights will turn off in about 120 seconds after the motion is no longer detected.

NOTE

  1. The sensitivity of the motion sensor will increase as the environmental temperature gets cooler. For best performance, gently clean the lens with a soft cloth every 1 or 2 months to assure maximum sensitivity.
  2. For best performance, install fixture at least 6 feet above The ground. At such a height, the lantern will provide a detection distance of up to 40 feet at 77 degrees Fahrenheit.(See Fig.1)
  3. The sensor detects across a detection range of 220 degrees.(See Fig.2)
  4. The sensor will be more sensitive to motion across its detection path than motion directly towards it. (See Fig.3)
  5. To reduce possible nuisances, do not mount the fixture near a heat source like an air conditioner, vent or furnace exhaust, or in a direction facing any reflecting object or other light source.
