mobility 0848 824 812 Driving Electric Vehicle
Product Information
The Mobility Car is an electric vehicle that requires charging before and after usage. The vehicle has a range of 260km understandard driving conditions, but it is recommended to charge the vehicle when the range is less than 20km. The car has two driving modes: ECO and ECO+ mode, which optimizes the vehicle’s range by impacting certain consumer systems such as air conditioning and power steering. The car also features an anticipatory driving style, which increases the range. The vehicle is equipped with a Type 2 AC fast-charging station and a GOFAST fast-charging station for on-the-go charging.
Product Usage Instructions
- Before driving the vehicle, check for any damage. In case of damage, contact 0848 824 812.
- To start the vehicle, log in at the checkpoint with the Mobility card. The charging mode button 1 in the lower section of the centre console can be used to interrupt the charging process and remove the charge cable from the side of the vehicle.
- The motor of an electric car is virtually silent, but driving sounds are artificially generated in the vicinity of the vehicle when driving up to 30 km/h to warn pedestrians.
- When driving, select ECO+ mode by pressing the ECO/ECO+ button in the lower section of the centre console to optimize the range of your vehicle. The driving position B can also be selected toincrease the motor braking effect during deceleration and help charge the battery more.
- After completing your journey, take the charge cable from the charging station and plug it into the vehicle charging socket. Lockthe car with the Mobility card and check that the charging process starts automatically. The charge indicator 5 at the charging socket should flash green if the car is being charged properly.
- For on-the-go charging at a GOFAST fast-charging station, visit gofast.swiss/en/locations for details of locations. After 20 minutes of fast charging at maximum charging rate, the range is approximately 60km, and the time required for an 80% charge is approximately 55 minutes.
- For on-the-go charging at a Type 2 AC fast-charging station, proceed as when charging at a fast-charging station. To charge at a Type 2 charging station, only flap 1 has to be removed. The charge cables may be permanently mounted on the charging station; otherwise, use the charge cable in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. Check if the charging process has been started correctly by ensuring that charge indicator 3 at the charging socket flashes green. After 20 minutes of Type2 AC charging at maximum charging rate, the range is approximately 16km, and the time required for an 80% charge is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
- Make sure to remove all personal belongings from the vehicle before ending your journey.
Before driving
Vehicle checked for any damage before driving.
Disconnect the charge cable from the vehicle
- Open the vehicle with the Mobility Card (hold at the checkpoint).
- Press the charging mode button “1” in the lower section of the centre console to interrupt the charging process and remove the charge cable from the side of the vehicle.
- The cable remains at the charging station (and must be hung back in the holder).
- Close the flap of the charging socket.
Driving
-
A. If you haven’t done so already, log in at the checkpoint with the Mobility card. To start the vehicle, depress the brake and turn the key in the ignition lock all the way to the right until the “Ready” indicator appears (Figure B).
Please note: If too much time elapses between your first log-in with the card and setting off, hold the Mobility card up to the card reader again. -
B. When the “READY” indicator light goes on, the vehicle is ready to drive (noiseless). Otherwise, repeat the process. The handbrake may have to be released.
-
C. Engage driving position “D” (normal forward gear) or “B” (forward gear with high recuperation when releasing the accelerator) or “R” (reverse) as required, always keeping the brake depressed.
On the road
The motor of an electric car is virtually silent. When driving up to 30 km/h, however, driving sounds are artificially generated in the vicinity of the vehicle so as to warn pedestrians.
ECO+ mode – Range
ECO+ mode (“ECO/ECO+” button in the lower section of the centre console) is a
function that optimises the range of your vehicle. It impacts on certain
consumer systems in the vehicle such as the air conditioning and power
steering.
An anticipatory driving style also increases the range.
Driving position “B”
In driving position “B”, the motor braking effect is more marked. This helps
charge the battery more during deceleration (braking).
- Range according to standard (WLTP) 260 km
- Range under normal driving conditions 190 km
Please note: If the range is less than 20 km, the vehicle must be taken to a charging station immediately.
After completing your journey
Park the vehicle in reverse at the Mobility parking space – the charging socket is located on the right-hand side at the rear. Put the car in P (Parking) position, pull up the handbrake and switch off the car. Open charge flap “3”.
- Take the charge cable from the charging station and plug it into the vehicle charging socket “4”.
- Lock the car with the Mobility card (hold card at checkpoint).
- The charging process starts automatically. Check this on the indicator “5” at the charging socket.
- This has to be flashing green if the car is being charged properly.
- Have you removed all personal belongings from the vehicle?
- Thanks for using Mobility and see you soon.
CHARGING GUIDE – VW E-UP
On-the-go charging at a GOFAST fast-charging station
See here for details of the locations
- Put the car in P (parking) position, pull up the handbrake and switch off the car.
- Open the charge flap. Proceed in the same way as in the section “After completing your journey”.
- Remove the rubber caps from sockets “1” and “2” under the charge flap.
- Take the charge cable from the DC charging station and plug it into the sockets. Start the charging process using the GOFAST charging card in the glove compartment of the vehicle.
- To do this, follow the instructions on the charging station display.
- In the event of problems, call the number on the charging station.
- Range after 20 minutes of fast charging at maximum charging rate 60 km
- Time required for 80% charge 55 mins
The vehicle has two sockets under the charge flap:
- Upper socket “1” = AC charging, e.g. at the Mobility station.
- Upper socket “1” and lower socket “2” combined = DC fast charging.
On-the-go charging at a Type 2 AC fast-charging station
Proceed as when charging at a fast-charging station. To charge at a Type 2 charging station, only flap “1” has to be removed. In some cases, the charge cables are permanently mounted on the charging station; otherwise use the charge cable in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. Don’t forget to take this with you when you’re finished charging.
Depending on the provider, the charging process is started automatically via
an app or payment by credit card (the customer can charge Mobility if payment
by credit card is required). The GOFAST charging card in the glove compartment
of the vehicle can also be used. If necessary, contact the provider of the
charging station.
If the charging process has been started correctly, charge indicator “3” at
the charging socket flashes green. Check this to make sure.
- Range after 20 minutes of Type2 AC charging at maximum charging rate 16 km
- Time required for 80% charge 3 hrs 30 mins
Additional charge cable
If there are no charge cables at a charging station, you will find one in the
luggage compartment of the vehicle. This is compatible with charging stations
which have a Type 2 plug. Don’t forget to put it back in the luggage
compartment after charging.
If the charging process has been started correctly, charge indicator “3” at
the charging socket flashes green. Check this to make sure.
