  • Improper use may create a risk of personal injury.
  • The product must only be installed or opened by a qualified electrician in accordance with the Installation Manual.
  • National usage requirements and restrictions apply.
  • Charge Amps Aura complies with the device-level requirements set out under the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021, as detailed in the technical file which is available online.
  • Installers must adhere to the instructions stated in the Installation Manual regarding installation and configuration of the charger to ensure compliance with the Electric Vehicle (Smart Charge Point) Regulations 2021.
  • It is the responsibility of the installer to provide proof of compliance to the Electric Vehicle (Smart Charge Point) Regulations 2021 of the complete charge point installation.
  • Only use this product for charging compatible electric vehicles.
  • Never use an adapter between the EV socket-outlet and the charging cable.
  • Cord extension sets are not allowed to be used.
  • Inspect the product for visible damage before use.
  • Never attempt to repair or use the product if it is damaged.
  • Do not immerse the product in water, subject it to physical abuse or insert foreign objects in any part of the product.
  • Never attempt to disassemble the product in any way.
  • The owner is responsible for informing users of the compatibility of any charging point.

Use

N.B: This User Manual is only applicable to Charge Amps Aura with product number 131293 and 131294.
N.B. Make sure your installer has added you as a driver in the Fuuse Web portal to be able to manage settings and control your charger.

The instructions in this User Manual aims to ensure that the use of Charge Amps Aura is in line with the Electric Vehicle (Smart Charge Point) Regulations 2021. To comply with these regulations, Charge Amps Aura is managed via the Fuuse Charge Point Management Platform.

Charging schedules

Charge Amps Aura is configured with default charging schedules that to avoid peak electricity demand. These default charging schedules will not enable charging during following hours:

  • Weekdays between 8 am – 11 am
  • Weekdays between 4 pm – 10 pm

On first use, you will be prompted to accept the pre-set schedules, reject the pre-set schedules or set your own schedules. This can be done via the Fuuse Web portal.

Randomised delay

A randomised delay has been added alongside charging schedules to further alleviate the stress EV charging will likely have on the National Grid over the coming years.
According to legislation in the UK, this randomised delay must exist by default on all chargers sold after July 1st, 2022. Charge Amps Aura is configured to operate, at each relevant time, with a delay of random duration up to 600 seconds, determined to the nearest second each time. However, the randomization setting can be disabled by the user.

Safety

N.B: Always visually check Charge Amps Aura for any signs of damage, vandalism or if the charger has been tampered with before initiating a charging session.

Charge Amps Aura is secured by a locking mechanism on the bottom, fixating the front and back of Charge Amps Aura together.
Upon completion of the installation process, a tamper evident label will be attached over the joint between the back and front.
If this label is removed, damaged or if you suspect that Charge Amps Aura has been tampered with in any way, don’t connect a charging cable or initiate a charging session. Charge Amps Aura should be powered off and inspected by an installer or maintenance provider before use.

Report tamper incidents

All tamper incidents must be reported in the Fuuse Web portal:

  1. Log in to the Fuuse web portal.
  2. Navigate to the ”Issues” tab in the side menue.
  3. Choose ”Create new issue” in the drop-down menue.
  4. Fill in the details of the incident in the fields and add a photo of the issue.
  5. Click the ”Add issue” button in the right bottom corner to submit the issue.
Charging with RFID identification

Make sure your installer has added your RFID card in the Fuuse Web portal.

It is possible to start and stop a charging session by using RFID authentication. Before staring a charging session, the RFID card needs to be registered in the Fuuse Web portal and assigned to the driver.

Instructions for how to add and register RFID cards can be found in the steps of this guide:

Once the registration process is complete, the driver can use RFID cards to start and stop a charging session.

Start and stop charging using RFID authentication

  1. Initiate charging by connecting the EV connector to the car. Lift the EV socket lid and connect the EV plug to the EV socket outlet.

  2. Briefly hold the RFID card in front of the RFID reader to start charging.
    N.B: If the other EV socket-outlet is not in use, it will turn dark and be unavailable for 5 minutes during the verification of the RFID card. If no RFID card has been verified during these 5 minutes, charging needs to be initiated remotely or reactivated by unplugging and reconnecting the vehicle connector.

  3. Stop charging by disconnecting the EV connector from the car and disconnect the EV plug from the EV socket.

Charging using Fuuse EV Driver App

N.B. Make sure your installer has added you as a driver in the Fuuse Web portal in order to use the Fuuse EV Driver App to start and stop charging sessions.

It is possible to start and stop a charging session by using the Fuuse EV Driver App. The app can be downloaded in App Store and Google Play. Please visit the Fuuse website for usage and more information about the Fuuse Driver App:

Cable lock

During charging, the cable lock on the charging station is automatically activated.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance

Never spray water or any other liquid directly on to the product.

  • Visually check that the EV socket-outlet it free from damage.
  • The outside of the product must be regularly wiped with a clean, dry cloth to remove dirt and dust.
  • Do not use detergent to clean any of the product’s components.
  • Regularly check that the tamper evident label is intact and unbroken.
Preventative maintenance

Preventative maintenance should be performed by a qualified electrician once or twice each year to check that Charge Amps Aura is in good condition.

  • Remove the front cover and make a visual check of the cable connections.
  • Gently rock the internal RCBO to make sure it’s properly seated.
