Requirements for safe operation

  1. Only properly trained personnel should operate this equipment – read manual.
  2. Check power cord for damage or breaks.
  3. Do not lay power cords in water or expose to heat or sharp edges. Replace cord when damaged.
  4. Never clean or repair the unit while connected to power outlet.
  5. CAUTION:
  • Do not use in hazardous atmosphere.
  • Do not use to exhaust combustible or explosive gases.
  • Do not expose to water or rain. · Connect only to grounded outlets with GFCI device.
  • Disconnect power when cleaning and servicing.

Electrical Requirements:

  1. Power requirements, 115 VAC, 50/60 Hz
  2. Extension cords should be UL/CSA listed, 3 wire, 15 Amp rating. Cords should not exceed 50 feet in length.
  3. The power outlet should be 3-prong, grounded electrical outlet.

Filtration Stages

The PureAir Blaster has a multistage pre-filter located in the door compartment and HEPA or Geo95 filter mounted inside the main body.

  • Primary/secondary filters are combined in dual density poly pad filter with MERV 8 efficiency. Filter is treated with antimicrobial additive and tackifier to increase dust holding capacity. Very efficient and economical filter for all types of applications.
  • HEPA filter – Individually tested and certified for efficiency 99.97% of 0.3 micron size particulates.
  • Optional filter: OdorGuard 600 activated carbon filter for removal of odors, gases and VOC vapor. This 2″ deep carbon filter contains 600 grams of granular carbon per square foot which is 12 times the amount of carbon in a typical carbon pleated filter.
  • Optional filter: MERV 11 pleated filter 2″ deep – High efficiency filtration for 1 to 20 micron size particulates.
  • Optional filter: Geo95 MERV 14 filter – Can be used in place of HEPA filter on non-hazardous applications.

Operation

  1. With the speed controller in the OFF position, plug the power cord into a 115 VAC power source.
  2. Turn the speed control knob from the OFF to the MAX position and allow the motor to come up to full speed. The POWER indicator light will come on at this time.
  3.  Adjust the speed control to produce the desired air flow.
  4. When the CHANGE FILTER light comes on during operation, it indicates that the air flow is restricted. See the Troubleshooting section of this manual to correct the problem.

Troubleshooting

The PureAire Blaster has been engineered to provide reliable long lasting service. High quality materials and components are used in the manufacturing process, but there may be an instance where you need to refer to these common sense guides.

  1. Unit does not start when turned `ON’.
Make sure the power cord is not damaged and that it is plugged into a power source.
If the circuit breaker on the machine has tripped, re-set it.
If the GFCI on the machine has tripped, re-set it.
If the motor smells hot it is possible that the thermal overload on the motor has tripped. Wait 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and restart.

  2. Building circuit breaker has tripped.
The circuit may be overloaded. Unplug other equipment using the same circuit or reposition the machine to a different circuit.

  3. “CHANGE FILTER” indicator light is on.

If the Primary/Secondary filter looks dirty, replace it.
The HEPA filter may be “full” and needs to be replaced. Visually inspect the HEPA filter and if it looks clogged then replace the filter. If the filter does not look clogged then inspect the flex hose on the intake side of the machine if you are using one. If the flex hose is kinked or curved too abruptly then straighten it out and see if that corrects the problem. If you are using another optional filter then inspect that filter to make sure you have removed whatever packing material it may have been shipped in.
If the light remains illuminated and you have checked the hoses and replaced the primary/secondary filter then the final stage filter, whether it is the HEPA or Geo95 must be replaced at this time.
Proper handling of equipment will keep it in operating condition for a long time. Please protect your investment wisely.
