INTRODUCTION

The Q-SYS Core 6000 CXR processor is an industry-first solution that combines the processing capabilities of the Q-SYS realtime operating system with the compact, ruggedized, MIL-STD, NEBS and Marine compliant Dell PowerEdge XR11 server. Core 6000 CXR is the only IT-grade solution that brings audio, video, and control processing into marine applications.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read these instructions and keep a copy for future reference. Strictly follow and heed all instructions and warnings. Install the device only as instructed.
  2. Do not use or submerge this device in or near water or liquids.
  3. Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use any aerosol spray, cleaner, disinfectant or fumigant on, near, or into the device.
  4. Do not install the device near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers).
  5. Refer all service to qualified personnel.
  6. Observe all applicable local codes. Consult a licensed professional engineer when devising an equipment installation to ensure compliance.

Maintenance and Repair

WARNING: Advanced technology, e.g., the use of modern materials and powerful electronics, requires specially adapted maintenance and repair methods. To avoid a danger of subsequent damage to the apparatus, injuries to persons and/or the creation of additional safety hazards, all maintenance or repair work on the apparatus should be performed only by a QSC authorized service station or an authorized QSC international distributor. QSC is not responsible for any injury, harm or related damages arising from any failure of the customer, owner or user of the apparatus to facilitate those repairs.

Installation

IMPORTANT: The Core 6000 CXR ships with an AC Filter Kit (with included rack installation instructions) and a Rugged Kit. Both kits are required for SOLAS installations under DNV Type Approval.

Refer to the Dell EMC PowerEdge XR11 Installation and Service Manual at dell.com for server and Rugged Kit installation instructions. Information about the rail solutions compatible with your system can be found in the “Rail sizing and rack compatibility matrix” section.

  5. Information tag (under bezel) – Includes the product serial number and Q-SYS Support contact information

  2. Serial communications RS232 (male DE-9) – For connection to serial devices

  4. LAN ports (four RJ45, 1000 Mbps) – From left to right: LAN A multimedia, LAN B multimedia, AUX A, AUX B
  5. Power supply unit 1 (PSU1) – 1400 W, hot-plug, universal input
  6. Power supply unit 2 (PSU2) – 1400 W, hot-plug, universal input
  7. ID button – Press to identify the device in Q-SYS Designer Software
  8. SFP ports (Quad Port 25GbE SFP28) – Not supported
