Product Information

The product is a lock system that comes with Large Format Interchangeable Cores (LFIC). The lock system can be used with rim and mortise cylinders and bored locks. The product comes with a control key that is used to remove and install the cores. The product also includes a tailpiece that is used to secure the core in place.
The LFIC cores are available in both permanent and disposable types. The permanent cores can be removed using the control key, while the disposable cores can be simply pulled out of the lock.
The tailpiece can be saved and re-used with the permanent core.
The product may contain lead, which is known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Product Usage Instructions

Removing Cores:
  • For rim and mortise cylinders and bored locks, insert the control key and turn it counter-clockwise until it reaches a stop.
  • With the key in this position, pull out the core.

Installing Cores:

Rim and Mortise Cylinders

  • With pins aligned in housing as shown below, and with control key in core, rotate key counter-clockwise and insert core into housing.
  • Make sure the key clearance slot faces down.
  • Note: Pins should be positioned at about a 15° angle to align with holes in core.
  • To remove key, return to vertical position and withdraw.
    Note: For easiest key removal, hold core in place while starting to withdraw key.

Lever/Bored Locks

  • Insert correct tail piece into back of core and secure with tail piece retainer.
  • Install core and tail piece into lock by inserting control key and rotating counter- clockwise. Then, insert core into lock.

To remove key, return to vertical position and withdraw. Note: For easiest key removal hold core in place while starting to withdraw key.

  • The 11-6300 and DG1, DG2 or DG3- 6300 cores are only compatible with hardware ordered to accept them.
  • Existing hardware may require to be modifi ed or require the use of different tail pieces in bored locks.

  • Removing Cores keyed 1-bitted use a control key cut 113511.
