About Your Blaux Thermometer
- The Blaux Thermometer is a non-contact infrared thermometer that easily and instantly measures internal body temperature using specialized infrared receiver technology.
- To use it, simply point the sensor at your subject’s forehead, roughly 3-5cm (1-2″) away. Then, press the measurement key “SCAN” and your thermometer will instantly and accurately display the temperature on the screen.

Structure and Function Key
The Science Behind Blaux Thermometer
- All objects that have a temperature greater than 0°C (32° F) give off a small amount of infrared radiation.
- For instance, a healthy temperature range of 36°C or 37°C will give off an infrared wavelength of 9-13µm.
- Blaux Thermometer’s infrared thermometer is able to measure and detect those wavelengths to give you accurate readings of temperature without the need to touch your patient.

Basic Functions
Powering
On/Off
| Press the”SCAN” key to power the device on.The device will automatically
darken the display and shut down after 20 seconds of not being used.

| To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, press and hold the”C/F” button.
Taking a
Measurement
| When the device is on, point it at your subject and press the”SCAN”
key, the temperature will be shown on the LCD screen. LCD Screen Lights:
Green= Safe, Orange= Mild Fever, Red = Fever.
High-Temperature Display
(for humans)
| If the measured temperature exceeds 42°C (107.6°F), the device will simply
display”HI” as the temperature.
Low-Temperature Display
(for humans)
| If the measured temperature is below 32°C (90°F), the device will simply
display”LO” as the temperature.

Memory Storage
| To cycle through the previous readings, press the”.o.” button.A number will be displayed on the screen representing previous measurements. For instance, “1” will represent the most recent recorded temperature, and “2” will represent the second most recent. After the memory number is displayed for one second, the temperature will be displayed, and you can cycle through the memory, which stores 32 readings.
To clear the memory, press and hold the”.o.” button until”CLR” appears. All memory slots will now be erased.
Low Battery
| If your battery is running low when you try to start
your device, ” … “will be displayed on the screen. The battery symbol on the lower right corner will flash for two seconds, and the device will power off.
At this point, you will need to swap in 2 new AAA batteries.
