Thank you for choosing Angler. The Angler CatchLight is a unique, curved reflector that minimizes or eliminates harsh shadows for a stunning, glowing effect that’s favored by portrait, fashion, and beauty photographers. Placed beneath the chin level of a subject, the reflected beam from a key light creates a seamless catchlight that’s the same shape and contour of the subject’s iris. It also delivers a clamshell lighting effect that accentuates beautiful skin tones and textures

- Clean the unit with only a soft, dry cloth.
- Make sure this item is intact and that no parts are missing.

OVERVIEW
Assembling the CatchLight
- Assemble the two tubes by fitting the pieces together. Make sure the locking buttons fit through the holes so the pieces are locked together.
- Thread the tubes through the sleeves on the top and bottom of the reflector.
- Thread one rod through the sleeve at the end of the CatchLight, and secure it to the tubes with the knobs.
- At the zippered end, fold the fabric and zip up the zipper about ¼ of the way. Then thread the rod through the zipped portion of the CatchLight and secure it with the knobs.
- Pull the reflector tight and zip it closed.
- Attach the bracket to the back of the CatchLight assembly by fitting the bracket’s bolts through the holes at the center of each tube, and securing them with the knobs. At this point, the CatchLight is assembled, the reflector will be taut.
- Loosen the bracket’s locking knob, and place it on the light stand’s 5/8- inch stud. Tighten the locking knob until secure.
- Adjust the swivel bracket to the desired angle.
An optional reversible white/soft gold fabric is available separately. Attach it to the CatchLight with the touch-connect strips around the edges of the fabric and CatchLight
Clamshell Lighting Effect with the CatchLight
Clamshell lighting minimizes or eliminates harsh shadows and is often used by professional fashion and beauty photographers for a glowing effect that delivers glamorous portraits.
- Position your light approximately 2.5 to 3 feet from the subject, pointing down at a 45°.
- Place the center of the CatchLight the same distance from the subject, and aim it so the subject has a curved catchlight that follows the curve of their iris.

One-Year Limited Warranty
This Angler product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty provider’s responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider’s discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality and function. This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance.
