legrand 4 120 32 Connected Ecometer

Product Information

The Connected eco meter 4 120 32/33 is a device that measures the energy consumption of your home. It can be used offline without an internet connection or can be added to a Netatmo-connected installation and managed via the Home+Control app. The device requires measurement coils ref. 4 120 08 (not supplied) to function, with a maximum of five coils. The Connected eco meter pack includes one connected eco meter and three measurement coils. The device is compliant with the European Low-voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU and Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) no. 2014/30/EU.

Product Usage Instructions

Step-by-step Installation
Choose a location for the connected eco meter in the electrical panel. The eco meter can be connected to Wi-Fi or via an Ethernet cable (RJ45 cable).

Wi-Fi Connection

  1. If the home has a router, use a smartphone to check that the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough. If not, try to put the router closer to the electrical panel, add a Wi-Fi repeater or connect the ecometer to your router with an Ethernet cable.
  2. Turn off the power at the general circuit breaker.
  3. Mount and wire the device.
  4. Complete the installation in the Home+Control app by downloading the app, creating an account, and following the instructions.
Ethernet Connection
  1. Connect the device to your router with an Ethernet cable.
  2. Turn off the power at the general circuit breaker.
  3. Mount and wire the device.
  4. Complete the installation in the Home+Control app by downloading the app, creating an account, and following the instructions.

Installation with TIC Connection
If the TIC (specific French energy transmission) is connected and working, the total consumption measure will come from the TIC. The coil connected to the Total (5) input can then feed back consumption data from a separate circuit. Each input can easily be assigned to a custom consumption item in the Home+Control app.

Product Working

The device has a continuous red indicator lamp when it is awaiting commissioning and connected via an Ethernet link. It has a flashing green indicator lamp when it is awaiting commissioning and connected via Wi-Fi or not. When in TIC mode, it has a slow flashing green indicator lamp when connected, and data is received from the TIC. It has a fast flashing green indicator lamp when in TIC mode and disconnected or data is not received from the TIC.

Imperative Safety Precaution

Failure to strictly comply with the installation and use conditions may result in a risk of electric shock or fire. The connected eco meter must be protected by a 2A circuit breaker or fuse.

Pay Attention to Current Direction
An arrow on the coil indicates the correct current direction.

The ecometer can be used offline without an internet connection (directly on the product screen), or can be added to a “with Netatmo” connected installation and managed via the Home+Control app.

There is no need to install a “with Netatmo” starter pack to use the connected eco meter via the Home+Control app. However, the ecometer is not a gateway. If you wish to add other “with Netatmo” connected products, you will need to install a starter pack that includes a gateway module, a gateway power outlet or any other «with Netatmo» gateway.

Installation without TIC connection

If the TIC (specific French energy tarification transmission) is not connected (default scenario): the total consumption measure will come from the coil connected to the “Total (5)” input.

Installation with TIC connection

If the TIC (specific French energy tarification transmission) is connected and working: the total consumption measure will come from the TIC. The coil connected to the “Total (5)” input can then feed back consumption data from a separate circuit.

N.B.: Each input can easily be assigned to a custom consumption item in the Home+Control app.

Complete installation in the Home+Control app

Download the Home+Control app. Create an account and follow the instructions.
N.B. : If you already have a “with Netatmo” connected installation, simply go to Settings and then to the “Add product” section in your Home+Control app.

Offline installation of the eco meter
If you don’t have a smartphone or you don’t want to connect your ecometer to the internet, you can install it in offline mode by performing the steps below. You then need to configure the device locally by scrolling through the different screens using the thumbwheel on the front of the device:

N.B. : Choosing offline installation will not prevent you from adding the eco meter to your connected installation in the Home+Control app later on.

Date and time setting

Customization of inputs
