GE APPLIANCES RAK27 Trim Kit

Trim kit is used when a 26” AJ series unit is installed in an existing Friedrich 27” WSE wall sleeve.

• Before you begin – Read these instructions completely and carefully.
• IMPORTANT – OBSERVE ALL GOVERNING CODES AND ORDINANCES.
• Note to Installer – Be sure to leave these instructions with the Consumer.
• Note to Consumer – Keep these instructions with your Owner’s Manual for future reference.

Parts Included

• Trim ring
• Polybag with screws (4 small and 2 large)
• Foam trim pieces (4 short pieces and 1 long piece)
• Panel edge nuts (2 pieces)

Tools Needed
Phillips Head Screw Driver

CAUTION
Electrical power must be disconnected before installing unit into wall sleeve.

Installation Instructions

• STEP 1:
  Remove any existing foam trim from either side of your AC unit.

• STEP 2:
  Slide the trim ring down the AC unit just behind the front cover.

• STEP 3
  Secure the trim ring to the AC unit using the four small screws supplied with the kit. The trim ring will sit against the front cover of the AC unit. Align the top and bottom slots in the trim ring with the existing holes in the AC unit.

• STEP 4
  Wipe off the surface of the AC unit to remove any loose dirt and debris. Using the one (1) long piece of foam and two (2) of the short pieces attach them to the sides and top of the AC unit. These will seal against the inside of the wall sleeve.

• STEP 5
  Turn the AC unit around and remove any foam that is currently applied to the outdoor coil.

• STEP 6
  Wipe down the surfaces on the outdoor coil where the old foam was removed. Remove any loose dirt or debris to ensure a good adhesion of the new foam pieces. Take the remaining two (2) pieces of foam that is supplied with the kit. Apply pieces of foam to either side of the outdoor coil. These pieces of foam will replace the pieces that were just removed.

• STEP 7
  Push the two supplied panel edge nuts onto the front left and right sides of the wall sleeve as shown below. Make sure to align the hole in the panel edge nuts with the hole in the wall sleeve.

• STEP 8
  Slide the AC unit into the 27″ wall sleeve. Use care to not damage the new pieces of foam when sliding unit into sleeve. Foam strips will compress and seal against the inside of the wall sleeve.

• STEP 9
  Slide AC unit into sleeve so that the RAK27 Trim Kit covers and overlaps the front edge of the wall sleeve. Align the hole in the sides of the wall sleeve with the center hole in the trim kit. Secure AC unit in place with the two large screws provided.
