Product Information
The Torsion Key Installation kit (No.92302) is used to adjust the height of the front suspension of your vehicle. The kit includes a torsion key unloading tool, a forged torsion key, and other necessary hardware. This product is designed to work with most vehicles and can be installed easily with the help of a professional mechanic.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
Before starting the installation process, please make sure you have purchased the shock bracket (if required) from the manufacturer.
-
Measure the center of the cap on the wheel up to the center of the fender well lip, then record the front and rear shock measurements for comparison.
-
Lift the vehicle.
-
Remove the wheels or tires if your vehicle has TPMS sensors and be sure to make a note of what corner of the wheel were removed.
-
To gain access to the upper shock Hardware, push the inner fender liner inward and begin removing the two factory 21mm shock stud nuts.
-
Use a one-inch socket to remove the adjusting bolt.
-
Using a torsion key unloading tool and fitting the tool over the cross-member evenly. You could adjust the center of the tool before unloading the factory key.
-
Using a 21mm socket rotate the tool bowl upward against the factory key just enough to unload the key from the block.
-
It takes little pressure on the key to removing the adjuster block from the cross-member (support).
-
Unload the factory key by backing off the tool bolt until the key is free of tension.
-
Once the key is free, unbolt one side of the tool bolts to remove the tool block and access the key to remove the factory key.
-
Slide the torsion bar forward until the bar still exists while the factory key is allowed to drop out.
-
Install the new forged torsion key in the original position of the factory key while sliding the torsion bar into the opening of the key.
Note: the orientation of the torsion bar key in relation to the end of the torsion bar. -
Since our torsion key unloading tool is still installed and positioned correctly, you could put pressure enough so the factory adjuster block can be installed into the cross-member again.
-
Unload the pressure from the key by backing off the tool bowl. The key should rest on the adjuster block just like the factory can.
-
After everything is checked out, remove the tool from the cross-member and then install the factory adjuster bolt into the block.
-
The precise height adjustments will be made during the alignment. For now, you need to tighten up the adjuster bolt just enough so it sits nearly flush with the bottom of the cross-member.
-
Installing the belly pan.
-
Put one of the supplied spacers on top of the pan and screw one of the supplied bolts as shown.
-
Install the remaining center bolt and spacer in the same way.
