How does Brody works
Press Brody’s belly to see the colour of the light.
TIME TO SLEEP
At bedtime Brody can be a comforting nightlight and play soothing melodies: white noise, lullabies or African lounge. Light and sound will automatically switch off after 10 minutes.
The cry sensor can turn the light and/or music back on when your little one is crying.
During the night, press Brody’s belly and he will light up red, it is still time to sleep.
“Research shows that red light does not interfere with the production of the sleeping hormone melatonine and is therefore a suitable colour for a nightlight.”
JUST A LITTLE LONGER
Every day, as of 30 minutes before it is OK to get up, press Brody’s belly and the light will be orange. Telling your child it is not much longer.
The last 5 minutes before it is OK to get up, Brody will light up its belly by himself. This will tell your child it is now only a few more minutes.
OK TO GET UP
Every morning at OK to wake time, Brody’ belly will light up green. Your child will know it is now OK to get up.
After 5 minutes the light will switch off, to save battery, but pressing the belly will still show the green light.
The basics
CAN I ALREADY WAKE UP?
Short press the shell-button and the module will light up for 5 seconds, so
you can see the colour.
Red = bedtime,
Orange= a little longer
Green = OK to get up
SWITCH ON NIGHTLIGHT AND PLAY MUSIC FOR 10 MINUTES
Long press the shell-button, the light will blink indicating the the 10 timer
has started. Press long to switch off.
Change the settings
Unlock the key-lock before you can change any settings.
Press and together to lock/unlock the keylock. Icon will be shown in display when active. Automatic activation after 30 seconds.
First time use
PLACE BATTERIES
- Insert 3x AA alkaline batteries conform the safety guidelines.
Note Please make sure to use quality brand alkaline batteries, to ensure the correct working of the product.
The icon in the display shows the status of the battery.
SET THE TIME
- After having placed the batteries, the hours will be blinking.
- With the and button you can change the hours.
- Confirm with the button.
- The minutes are blinking.
- Now set the minutes with the and button.
- Confirm with the button.
- You have now set the time.
Note When selecting the hours with the up/down button, you will first pass by the 24 hrs format and then the hours will appear in AM/PM format.
Nightlight and sound machine
Brody can light up his belly and play music for 10 minutes.
- Press the belly for 3 seconds. The light will blink when the timer is activated.
- The last chosen setting for light and sound will be played.
- Press again 3 seconds to switch the 10 minute timer OFF.
CHANGE THE SETTINGS
MUSIC
- Press the button as long as you get to your preferred melody: lullabies, white noise, african lounge, OFF.
- Brody will play an audio sample for a few seconds.
- Last setting will be remembered.
VOLUME
- Press the button to start an audio file. If you then long press the button you will go through 3 different volume levels. Let go when you reach the preferred level.
- Last setting will be remembered.
BRIGHTNESS
Press the button several times until you react your preferred brightness: LOW- MEDIUM-HIGH-OFF.
Note The light will show the brightness for a few seconds and then shut off.
Note The selected brightness will also affect the brightness of the orange and green light in the morning. Except when ‘no light’ is chosen, then orange and green will be medium brightness.
CRY SENSOR
Brody can turn the light/sound back on for 10 minutes when your little one is crying. The cry sensor will stay active for 12 hours, from the moment you switch on the nightlight.
If the display shows an icon in the left top corner of the display, the cry
sensor is ready for use.
If not follow below steps:
- Disable keylock by pressing and until the icon disappears from the screen.
- Long press button until the icon will appear in screen.
- The cry sensor is now active conform the last used settings of light and music.
Sleeptraining
Brody can change the colour of his belly from red, to orange, to green to indicate when it is OK to get up.
SLEEPTRAINER MODE ON/OFF
To switch the sleeptrainer mode ON and OFF:
- Disable keylock by pressing and until the keylock icon disappears from the screen.
- Press the button until the icon appears or disappears.
- When the icon is visible, the sleeptraining function is ON.
CHANGE THE ‘OK TO GET UP’-TIME
- Disable keylock by pressing and until the keylock icon disappears from the screen.
- Long press ****button until the time will blink.
- Change the hours with and button and confirm with the button.
- Change the minutes with and button and confirm with the button.
- The OK to wake time is now set and active.
Note No need to set a bedtime. Two hours after OK to get up the light will automatically switches from green back to red.
WARNING! SAFETY GUIDELINES
- Important! keep for future reference.
- This ZAZU product is fully compliant with the EU, CA, AU, NZ, USA and CN legislation.
- Please keep the packaging away from small children.
- Never allow your child to play with the batteries.
- This product works with 3x AA 1.5 V batteries (not included).
- Only use the specified batteries.
- Batteries should be placed in the correct polarity.
- Do not short-circuit the power terminal.
- When not in use please switch the product OFF completely.
- Remove empty batteries from the product.
- Batteries should only be placed by adults.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-Zn), or rechargeable Ni MH) batteries.
- Only use alkaline batteries, no zinc carbon.
- Non-rechargeable batteries cannot be charged.
- Do not place too close to baby. Instead fixate the plush to the cot with the velcro strap.
- The plush can be washed by hand and air dried, but remove the module beforehand.
- This light does not get warm.
- This product is intended for indoor use and is not water resistant. Please keep dry.
- For cleaning do not immerse in water, but wipe with a damp cloth.
- Do not try to disassemble the product if it stops working. Please contact customer service.
