Product Information

The VR46 Racing Apparel S.r.l. Protective Clothing is designed to protect the knees, elbows, and entire body while using mountain bikes. The slim and soft knee protection model is VREQKG1, the slim and soft elbow protection model is VREQEG1, and the full-body protection model is VREQGU1. The protective clothing has been tested according to the EN 1621-1 standard for protection against mechanical impact for motorcyclists. The protective clothing is certified as a Category II Personal Protective Equipment under Regulation 2016/425 by the CSI SpA Cascina Traversagna 21 20030 Senago (MI) – Italy certification body.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Read Instructions Carefully: It is necessary to read the instructions carefully before wearing, using, and maintaining protective clothing.
2. Intended Use: The slim and soft knee protection model VREQKG1 and the slim and soft elbow protection model VREQEG1 are intended to be worn for protecting the knees and elbows, respectively, while using mountain bikes. The full-body protection model VREQGU1 is intended to provide full-body protection while using mountain bikes.
3. Components: The components of the slim and soft knee and elbow protection models are listed in section 3.1.2 of the user manual. The components of the full-body protection model are listed in section 3.2.2 of the user manual.
4. How to Wear Protective Clothing: The instructions for wearing protective clothing are provided in section 4 of the user manual. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure proper fit and maximum protection.
5. Maintenance and Care: The instructions for maintaining and caring for the protective clothing are provided in section 5 of the user manual. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure the longevity of the protective clothing

It is necessary to READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY in order to wear, use and maintain VR46 Racing Apparel S.r.l. protective clothing correctly. Instructions for use are important for user safety and should be stored in a safe place.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The protective clothing covered by this user manual, hereafter referred to only as PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, is:

The PROTECTIVE CLOTHING is produced by: VR46 Racing Apparel S.r.l. Viale Fratelli Rosselli, 46 – 61121 Pesaro (PU) – Italy SLIM AND SOFT KNEEL PROTECTION APPAREL model VREQKG1 and SLIM AND SOFT ELBOW PROTECTION model VREQEG1 have been tested according to the regulation EN 1621-1 Motorcyclists’ protective clothing against mechanical impact – Part 1: Limb impact protectors – Requirements and test methods. The FULL BODY PROTECTIVE CLOTHING model VREQGU1 has been tested according to the regulations EN 1621-1 Motorcyclists’ protective clothing against mechanical impact – Part 1: Limb impact protectors – Requirements and test methods; EN 1621-2 Motorcyclists’ protective clothing against mechanical impact – Back protectors – Part 2: Requirements and test methods; EN 1621-3 Motorcyclists’ protective clothing against mechanical impact – Part 3: Motorcyclists’ chest protectors – Requirements and test methods. WARNINGS

Use PROTECTIVE CLOTHING only for its intended purpose. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING is intended to be worn by mountain bike riders. Do not make any changes to the PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. VR46 Racing Apparel S.r.l. is exonerated from any liability for any injuries or claims resulting from improper use of the products, in a manner not in accordance with their intended use, including modifications. Any contamination, alteration, or misuse may dangerously reduce the performance of the PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. Changes in environmental conditions, such as temperature variations, can reduce the performance of PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. To provide adequate protection, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING must be worn correctly and cleaned regularly. Choose the size of the PROTECTIVE CLOTHING according to the user’s build. Avoid choosing too large a size of PROTECTIVE CLOTHING as it could interfere with the helmet, causing a dangerous condition for riding. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING does not protect against impacts and injuries in all types of accidents. No PROTECTIVE CLOTHING can provide complete and total protection from accidents and injuries.
D3O® inner protectors cannot prevent injuries resulting from extreme impact forces, twisting, bending or crushing. In case of impact, do not use the protector. The protector may have non-visible damage, which may reduce the protective capacity of the protector.

The D3O® inner protectors in VR46 Racing Apparel S.r.l. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING offer comfortable and effective protection against impact. Thanks to D3O® technology, the inner protectors are made of soft, flexible, speed-sensitive materials with high shock-absorbing properties. D3O® inner protectors are developed in accordance with EN 1621-1; EN 1621-2; EN 1621-3 regulations for use by motorcyclists to protect against minor injuries caused by major impacts.

Thanks to the presence of D3O® inner protectors, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING offers protection to the cyclist in the event of a fall or accident, while at the same time providing a soft, flexible and breathable structure, and without interfering with riding.

SLIM AND SOFT KNEE AND ELBOW PROTECTION

Intended use
The protective clothing SLIM AND SOFT KNEE PROTECTION model VREQKG1 and SLIM AND SOFT ELBOW PRO-TECTION model VREQEG1 are intended to be worn for the protection of the knees and elbows, respectively, when riding mountain bikes.

Components
The protective clothing SLIM AND SOFT KNEE PROTECTION model VREQKG1 and SLIM AND SOFT ELBOW PROTECTION model VREQEG1consist of an elastic band made of Lycra and abrasive fabric in the front part and nylon mesh in the back part. The clothing is stabilised by polyester and silicone elastic bands placed internally at the upper and lower circumferences. The D3O® inner protector, specifically made for the protection of the joint, is sewn into a special pocket at the joint (knee/elbow).

FULL BODY PROTECTION

Intended use
The FULL BODY PROTECTION clothing model VREQGU1 is intended to be worn for protection of the upper body while riding a mountain bike. The clothing is designed for protection of the shoulder and elbow joints, chest and back; thus, complete pro-tection of the wearer’s upper body is ensured with a single item.

Components
The FULL BODY PROTECTION clothing model VREQGU1 is a long-sleeved jersey made mainly of honeycomb fabric and a nylon mesh at the back of the arms. The item is stabilised by elastic cuffs and a silicone band around the waist. The internal D3O® protectors are inserted, at the shoulders, elbows, chest and back, in special internal pockets and are removable.

HOW TO WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

PROTECTIVE CLOTHES can be worn in direct contact with the skin or over a light layer of fabric (such as t-shirts and leggings). To wear SLIM AND SOFT KNEE PROTECTION knee pads, take off your shoes and slip them on like a sock until they are correctly positioned on the knee, respecting the right and left. Similarly, to wear SLIM AND SOFT ELBOW PROTECTION elbow pads, slip them on from the hand and slide them until they are correctly positioned on the elbow, respecting the right and left.
The FULL BODY PROTECTION jersey is equipped with a zip at the front that allows it to be worn comfortably by the user. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING is available in sizes: S – M – L – XL. When choosing the size, it is recommended to try the clothing on properly by replicating the typical pedalling movements in order to check its fit and stability.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Clean the PROTECTIVE CLOTHING with a microfibre cloth moistened with water and/or neutral products. In the protective clothing SLIM AND SOFT KNEE PROTECTION model VREQKG1 and SLIM AND SOFT ELBOW PROTECTION model VREQEG1 the D3O® inner protectors are not removable, therefore, the items are not washable. The D3O® inner protectors of the FULL BODY PROTECTION clothing model VREQGU1, on the other hand, are removable, so the item can be washed by hand after removing all protectors. Observe the indications on the care label accompanying the items. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING must be replaced when it shows signs of wear and tear and/or following impacts and injuries. Store PROTECTIVE CLOTHING in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING may be damaged if handled and used incorrectly or stored improperly. It is recommended that items be inspected periodically to check their condition. Dispose of the PROTECTIVE CLOTHING in an environmentally sound manner and in compliance with applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
