GENERAL
Device description
KCEDZS is 13.56MHz RFID radio device used for monitoring the location of the elevator car in elevator shaft.
Safety information
No electrical safety information and warnings are needed as the electrical operating voltage of the radio equipment is lower that safety voltage.
To comply with human exposure requirements the equipment must be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 200 mm of the human body.
Power and environmental ratings of the device
KCEDZS is powered by KONE KCE electrification.
- Input voltage: 24VDC (9-32VDC.)
- Input current: Max 180mA
- IP protection class: IP33
- Operation temperature range: -20 – +65 ºC
- Transmitter maximum conducted output power: 100mW (at 13.56 MHz)
INSTALLATION AND USE
KCEDZS will be installed and used in restricted access area (elevator shaft) only by KONE maintenance users according to KONE installation manuals. The product is not intended to be used by ordinary persons.
- KCEDZS shall only be used as part of elevator.
- Only KONE maintenance users have access to the device.
- KCEDZS shall only be used with the provided cabling.
- KCEDZS shall only be used with internal antenna.
- KCEDZS shall be supplied with PELV/SELV voltage from another KONE device.
- KCEDZS is not to be connected to DC mains power distribution systems, but only to a dedicated DC power source.
- KCEDZS shall be installed by instructed person only (KONE maintenance users).
- KCEDZS shall be installed in a restricted access area.

The KCEDZS is automatically controlled by KONE KCE control system. It has following status indicators for maintenance user.

by the user. Any changes or modifications could void the user’s authority to
operate the equipment.

licence-exempt RSS standard(s).

Operation is subject to following two conditions:
(1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept
any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of
the device.
Radiation Exposure Statement
This device complies with FCC/IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an
uncontrolled environment and meets the FCC radio frequency (RF) Exposure
Guidelines in Supplement C to OET65 and RSS-102 of the IC radio frequency (RF)
Exposure rules. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in
conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
FCC Class B Digital Device Notice
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
