SETTING UP & CONNECTIONS

  1. Mount the Platter -1- onto the Record Platter Hub -3-.reloop Turn 7 Premium Belt Drive USB Hi-Fi Turntable System - Mount the Platter

  2. Loop the included drivebelt -4- around the outside of the record platter -1-, and then loop the belt around the drive hub -2-. – Be careful not to let the rubber become twisted.
    – Rotate the turntable (platter) several times to make sure that the belt is secure.

  3. Align the small cutout in the drive hub cover -5- with the small protuberance on the drive hub -2-. If these are not aligned, the drive hub cover will slant.reloop Turn 7 Premium Belt Drive USB Hi-Fi Turntable System - Drive Hub Cover

  4. Place the supplied felt mat -27- over the Turntable Hub -3- onto the Platter -1-.(Optional)reloop Turn 7 Premium Belt Drive USB Hi-Fi Turntable System - Counterweight

  5. Place the Counterweight -17- onto the Tonearm -12-.
NOTE! The Counterweight Scale -16- has to face forward.

  6. Screw the Headshell with Pick-Up System -11- securely (hand-tight) into the Tonearm -12-. Optional: The pick up system can be easily replaced if necessary:
    a) First loosen the fastening screw on the headshell and disconnect the cable of the supplied pick-up system.
    b) Remove the old pick-up system from the headshell.
    c) Now connect the leads of the pick-up system and observe the assignment of wires

Colour: Channel and polarity

Blue (L-) left, minus terminal
Red (R+) right, plus terminal
Green (R-) right, minus terminal

d) Tighten the fastening screws on the headshell.
e) Align the cartridge using a cartridge protractor, following the Baerwald alignment principle.

  1. Connect the included RCA cable to the Audio Output -18- and connect the cable to a phono input OR line input of your amplifier or HiFi sound system.
NOTE! The connection to a phono or line input depends on the setting of the Pre-amp On/Off Switch -7-.
PRE-AMP OFF = phono input on your amplifier (or hi-fi system) or external phono stage
PRE-AMP ON = line input on your amplifier (or hi-fi system)

  2. If needed, connect the USB cable to your computer for recordings. Please see the “USB Recording” section below for more information.

  3. Connect the Power Supply Unit to its appropriate connection -21- and a power outlet.

  4. Optional: Tonearm height adjustment
If the tonearm is not parallel to the record after changing the pickup system or system carrier during playback of a record, proceed as follows to adjust the height of the tonearm.
    a) Put a record on the turntable (platter support) and place the needle on the edge of the record.
The record platter must not be started at this moment.
    b) Insert the supplied Allen key -24- into the hole of the height adjustment screw and unscrew it counterclockwise to loosen the tone arm support.reloop
Turn 7 Premium Belt Drive USB Hi-Fi Turntable System - Allen
Key c) Hold the support and adjust the height to align the tonearm parallel to the record. (Make sure that the tone arm does not swing to the left or right during the height adjustment).
    d) Turn the hexagon screw clockwise to fix the support for the tone arm.
    e) Now start playing the record and make sure that the tone arm is balanced.

OPERATION

  1. Counterweight
Set the tonearm lift -14- (without the needle guard) to the „DOWN“ position. Now move the tonearm -12- to just in front of the turntable platter -1-. Adjust the counterweight -17- by turning it clockwise so that the tonearm -12- does not tilt up or down, i.e. it should be balanced parallel to the record. Then guide the tonearm -12- back into the tonearm support -13-. Adjust the counterweight scale -16- on the counterweight so that the position „0“ is above the marking line.
Turn the counterweight further clockwise until the scale shows the value that corresponds to the recommended needle tracking force of the pick-up system.

  2. Anti-Skating Wheel
Adjust the Anti-Skating Wheel -15- so that the setting directly matches tracking force of the fitted cartridge.

  3. Selecting PRE-AMP ON/OFF & Turning on Power
Check the PRE AMP ON/OFF -7- position. Depending on your phono/line connection choice, the pre-amplifier should be turned on or off.
After all connections have been made and all settings have been adjusted you can turn the device on via the ON/OFF Button -6-.

  4. Playback
Place the record onto the optional felt mat -27- on the record platter -1-. Select the appropriate speed for your record with the 33/45 switch -9-.
Remove the needle guard from the pick-up system -11-. Now set the tone arm lift -14- to the „UP“ position and move the tone arm -12- over the part of the record you want to play. Then set the tonearm lift -14- to the „DOWN“ position so that the tonearm lowers onto the record groove.
NOTE! You can also leave the tone arm lift permanently in the „DOWN“ position and lower the tone arm manually to the desired position.
When doing so, be careful not to damage the needle of the pick-up system.

  5. USB-Recording (Connection to a Computer)
Connect the USB Port -10- to a spare USB port on your PC. The USB audio interface will be recognized automatically (USB Audio Codec) and does not need additional drivers (Class Compliant). After the USB sound card has been installed automatically, you can adjust the following settings in your preferred recording software or OS system settings:
    – 2-channel
    – 16-bit
    – 48 000 Hz
NOTE! There should always be a direct USB connection to the computer. If a USB hub is used, there may be occur some interferences.
There are a number of recording programmes available. We can recommend Audacity as a free version.
Further information and download is available at: www.audacityteam.org.
    NOTE!
Set the record player (USB Audio Codec) as the recording device in your software. If you have any support questions regarding the software/recording function, please contact the provider‘s website or hotline directly.reloop

  6. Dust Cover
Place the dust cover on the hinges and then insert the hinges into the holders -20- provided. The Dust Cover protects your turntable when it is not in use. However, we recommend to remove the Dust Cover when the turntable is in use, as it will have a negative impact on the acoustic performance. Furthermore, your turntable should be placed on a base that is as resonance-free as possible.
