Watch Features

  • Time of Day Display (TOD)
  • Real-time digital calendar (years 2000-2099).
  • 12 or 24 hour time.
  • Chronograph/Stopwatch (maximum time 23 hours/59 minutes/59 seconds)• Alarm
  • Countdown timer (maximum time 23 hours/59 minutes/59 seconds).
  • Hourly chime
  • 2nd Time Zone
  • INDIGLO® back-light.

When setting, each button has a different function as indicated below (Fig. 1).

Modes

  • Press (B) to scroll through functions:
  • Time of Day (TOD)
  • Chrono
  • Timer
  • Alarm
  • 2 nd Time Zone
  • In any mode, press (A) to illuminate backlight.
  • In any mode, press (B) to return to TOD mode.

Setting Time and Date

  • Press (B) and scroll to ‘Time’ mode.

  • Press and hold (D) until numerals flash on display (Fig. 2).

  • Press (B) to change setting (sequence as follows): Hour → Minute → Second → Month → Day → Year → 12/24 Hour Format → Date Format → Chime (Hourly) → Beep (Buttons). Press (C) to change value. Press (B) advance to next setting.

  • Press (D) when complete. If no input for 3 minutes watch will exit Time setting mode and return to TOD.

  • Note: while in TOD mode press (C) to toggle between time and day of week.

Chronograph Mode
Enter Chronograph mode:

  • Press (B) until CHRONO appears.
  • Press (C) to start or stop, press (D) to clear (“00’00”00).
  • When chronograph is running, press (D) to take current Lap or Split time and the display will flash for 10 seconds. At the same time, chronograph will continue counting for a new Lap, and after 10 seconds it will display the new Lap or Split information.
  • Elapsed time is shown in 1/100th -second units. After the first hour, elapsed time will be shown in one-second units.
  • Chronograph operation when started will continue to function even if you change to another mode. Maximum run time for stopwatch is 23 hours / 59 minutes / 59 seconds.

Countdown Timer Mode
Enter Countdown Timer mode:

  • Press (B) until TIMER appears.

Configure countdown timer:

  • Press (D) until digit begins to flash. Press (C) to advance (press and hold to advance quickly).
  • Press (B) to scroll through Hour / Minute / Second / Repeat (press (C) for On/Off).
  • Press (D) to exit countdown timer setting mode.

Use countdown timer:

  • Once desired countdown time has been set press (C) to start timer.
  • Press (C) to stop timer if needed. Timer can be reactivated by pressing (C) again.
  • When timer reaches ‘0:00:00’ press any button to turn off.
  • Press (D) to reset timer.

Alarm Mode
Enter Alarm mode:

  • Press (B) until ALARM appears.
  • In Alarm mode, press (C) to turn Alarm On/Off (when ‘On’ a small icon will appear on left side of display).

Set Alarm:

  • In Alarm mode press (D) until digits flash.
  • Press (B) to select hours / minutes / AM/PM. Use (C) to increase numbers.
  • Once desired alarm time is selected press (D) to return to Alarm mode.
  • If no buttons are pressed within 2 minutes, watch will exit setting and return to Alarm mode.
  • When alarm activates, press any button to turn Off.

TIME 2 (2nd Time Zone)
Enter Alarm mode:

  • Press (B) until ‘TIME 2’ appears.
  • Follow same steps from ‘Setting Time and Date’.

INDIGLO® NIGHT-LIGHT FEATURE

Press INDIGLO® button to activate night-light. Electroluminescent technology used in INDIGLO® night-light illuminates watch face at night and in low light conditions.

WATER RESISTANCE/SHOCK RESISTANCE

  • TIMEX® COMMAND ENCOUNTER watch is water resistant to 100 meters (328 ft).
  • Rinse watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water, including perspiration.
  • Shock-resistance will be indicated on watch face or caseback. Watches are designed to pass ISO test for shock-resistance. However, care should be taken to avoid damaging crystal/lens.
  • WARNING: To maintain water resistance, do not press any buttons under water.

Battery
Timex strongly recommends that a retailer or jeweler replace battery. Battery type is on watch back. Use metal tweezers to push internal reset switch after replacing battery. Battery life estimates are based on certain assumptions regarding usage; battery life may vary depending on actual usage.
DO NOT DISPOSE OF BATTERY IN FIRE. DO NOT RECHARGE. KEEP LOOSE BATTERIES AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
