  2. Turn the control knob to the ‘OFF’ position.
  3. Turn ‘ON’ the gas supply at the cylinder or regulator switch following the regulator connection and operating instructions. Check the cylinder to regulator connection and hose to pizza oven hose inlet connection for leakage using soapy water. Any leakage will show as bubbles in the area of the leak. If leak is found, do not use the pizza oven. Consult your gas or pizza oven supplier for advice.
  4. To light the burner, push down the control knob and keep pressing whilst turning anti-clockwise to the “Full rate” position and press the ignition button. This will light the burner. Check that the burner is alight. If the burner has not lit, repeat this process.
  5. If the burner has not lit after two attempts, turn ‘OFF’ the gas tap and wait 5 minutes before retrying the ignition sequence.
  6. When the burner has lit, the burner rate can be adjusted by push down and turn the knob anti-clockwise to any position between the full and low rate position.
  7. After the oven is heated for use, the temperature should be turned down during baking. The oven emits a lot of heat, and the temperature must therefore be adjusted to the correct baking temperature.
  8. To turn ‘OFF’ the pizza oven, turn the cylinder valve handle or regulator switch to the ‘OFF’ position by following the regulator instructions. Once the burners have extinguished turn all the control knobs to the ‘OFF’ position.

Warning: If the burner fails to ignite, turn the control knob off (clockwise) and also turn the cylinder valve off. Wait five minutes before attempting to relight with ignition sequence. Or change the AA batteries.
After use, close the gas supply by either turning ‘OFF’ the switch on the regulator or turning ‘OFF’ the cylinder valve.
In the event of light back whilst the appliance is in use. Turn the control, cylinder valve and regulator switch to the ‘OFF’ position. Wait 5 minutes before attempting to relight the appliance. Store the appliance in a clean dry environment.
Do not store your gas cylinder indoors. Store in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

CONNECTING THE GAS CYLINDER TO THE APPLIANCE

Connect the hose and regulator assembly to the LPG cylinder. Only use a CE- approved regulator and hose with a ¼” connector.
Carry out a leakage test using soapy water before using the heater.

TO CHECK FOR LEAKS

  • Make 2-3 fluid ounces of leak detecting solution by mixing one part washing up liquid with 3 parts water.
  • Ensure the control valve is “OFF”.
  • Connect the regulator to the cylinder and ON/OFF valve to the burner, ensure the connections are secure then turn ON the gas.
  • Brush the soapy solution on to the hose and all joints. If bubbles appear you have a leak, which must be rectified before use.
  • Retest after fixing the fault. Turn OFF the gas at the cylinder after testing.
  • If detected leakage can not be rectified, change the regulator and hose.
  • In the event of gas leakage, turn off the gas supply.

REGULATOR AND HOSE

Use only regulators and hose approved for LPG at the above pressures (See technical information). The life expectancy of the regulator is estimated as 10 years. It is recommended that the regulator is changed within 10 years of the date of manufacture. The use of the wrong regulator or hose is unsafe; always check that you have the correct items before operating the appliance.
The hose used must conform to the relevant standard for the country of use. The length of the hose must be 1.5 meters (maximum). Worn or damaged hose must be replaced. Ensure that the hose is not obstructed, kinked, or in contact with any part of the pizza oven other than at its connection.
The hose should comply with the standard EN16436.
The hose should not be twisted or kinked when attached to the gas cylinder.
Flexible metal or rubber pipe, used to connect the appliance with the LPG cylinder must be changed within the prescribed intervals and according to the National Rules in force. No part of the hose should touch any part of the appliance.

The pizza oven can be used with a gas hose with a ¼” thread or a gas hose with a nipple and hose clamp.
Make sure that the thread and/or clamp are securely tightened and that the connections don’t leak!

STORAGE OF THE APPLIANCE

Storage of an appliance indoors is only permissible if the cylinder is disconnected and removed from the appliance. When the appliance is not to be used for a period of time it should be stored in its original packaging in a dry dust free environment.

The appliance can be used with any gas cylinder of weights between 4.5KGS and 15 KGS butane, 3.9 KGS to 13 KGS propane and disposable gas can. The gas cylinder should not be dropped or handled roughly! If the appliance is not in use, the cylinder must be disconnected. Replace the protective cap on the cylinder after disconnecting the cylinder from the appliance.
Cylinders must be stored outdoors in an upright position and out
of the reach of children. The cylinder must never be stored where temperatures can reach over 50°C.
Do not store the cylinder near flames, pilot lights or other sources of ignition.

PRODUCT CLEANING AND CARE

CAUTION: All cleaning and maintenance should be carried out when the pizza oven is cool and with the fuel supply turned OFF at the gas cylinder.
Recommend to clean and maintenance the appliance at least once a month.

CLEANING

“Burning off” the pizza oven after every use (for approx 15 minutes) will keep excessive food residue to a minimum.

  • OUTSIDE SURFACE
Use mild detergent or baking soda and hot water solution. Non-abrasive scouring powder can be used on stubborn stains, then rinse with water.

  • PLASTIC SURFACES
Wash with a soft cloth and hot soapy water solution. Rinse with water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, degreasers or a concentrated barbecue cleaner on plastic parts.

  • PIZZA STONE
Use a mild soapy water solution. Non-abrasive scouring powder can be used on stubborn stains, then rinse with water.

THE BEST PIZZAS ARE BAKED IN A COZZE PIZZA OVEN

For best results, you need a good dough and a very hot pizza oven, preferably about 400 °C. In short, the pizza oven must be VERY hot, because it is the high temperature that makes the pizza crisp and airy.
Light the pizza oven in plenty of time before baking your pizza.

What to do:

  • Make sure that the pizza oven and the pizza stone are correctly positioned. Connect a gas bottle to the pizza oven and start the oven at the highest temperature. Your Cozze pizza oven has three burners in total, two in the sides and one at the back of the oven. Check that all three are lit.
  • The thermometer indicates the temperature in the oven and is indicative.
  • There must be no objects above the pizza oven, such as trees or an overhanging roof. The pizza oven must be positioned so that there is 50 cm free space to the sides and behind the oven.
  • The pizza oven must not be used near combustible materials. (Petroleum-based products, thinners or other substances that are classified as flammable.)
  • It is dangerous and PROHIBITED to use the pizza oven in enclosed spaces.
  • Allow the pizza oven to heat up for about 20 minutes. It will then be ready to bake the most delicious pizzas.
  • When your pizza is ready to be baked, gently push it into the oven on the pizza stone using a pizza paddle. Turn the heat down to medium so that the top of your pizza does not burn.
  • After about 30 seconds, take the pizza out, rotate it a quarter and gently push it back in again.
  • Repeat until your pizza is crisp and the cheese has melted.
  • Gently remove the pizza from the oven and place it on a cutting board.
  • Leave your steaming hot pizza to cool slightly before cutting it and sharing it with your loved ones.
  • Turn the pizza oven up to the highest temperature and leave it a few minutes before baking your next pizza.
  • Enjoy your pizza oven and bon appétit!
