Wiring Safety for UK Use Only
IMPORTANT
As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please proceed as
follows:
The wires in the mains lead are labelled in accordance with the following
code:
Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L] Green/Yellow [EARTH]
Plug Fitting Details (Where Applicable).
The wire labelled blue is the neutral and must be connected to the terminal
marked [N]. The wire labelled brown is the live wire and must be connected to
the terminal marked [L]. The wire labelled green/yellow must be connected to
the terminal marked with the letter [E].
On no account must either the brown or the blue wire be connected to the
[EARTH] terminal.
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly.
The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the same rating already fitted and
conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for
you.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug.
If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains
lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one
(conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating).
If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this
for you.
If you need to remove the plug – disconnect it from the mains – then cut it
off of the mains lead and immediately dispose of it in a safe manner. Never
attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a
danger of an electric shock.

Troubleshooting
Questions | Answers |
---|---|
The appliance does not produce any steam. | Fill the water tank to above the |
MIN line. Press and hold the steam trigger until steam comes out. It may take up to 30 seconds until steam comes out.
Press the steam trigger and keep it pressed when you iron.
The iron leaves a shine or an imprint on the garment.| The surface to be
ironed was uneven, for instance because you were ironing over a seam or a fold
in the garment.
The ironing board cover becomes wet or water droplets come out of the
soleplate.
| Steam has condensed on the ironing board cover after a long ironing session.
There is too much steam coming out of the iron.| The default setting of the
iron represents the optimal temperature. In this setting, the iron gives off a
high steam output.
Ironing tips:
- When ironing a garment that consists of multiple fibre types it is recommended to use the lowest heat setting.
- Velvet and other textures that rapidly become shiny should be ironed in one direction with light pressure applied.
- Always keep the iron moving to prevent overheating of the fabrics.
- Pure woollen fabrics (100% wool) may be ironed with the iron set to the steam position.
- To prevent staining, do not spray water straight on silk or other delicate fabrics.
Cleaning & Care
After ironing:
- Disconnect the iron from the power supply and empty out any water left in the water tank.
- Reconnect the iron into the power supply and disconnect it again after the indicator light goes out. This helps dry out the soleplate.
- Let the iron completely cool down, and then wipe flakes and any other deposits on the soleplate with a damp cloth or a nonabrasive (liquid) cleaner. Clean the upper part of the iron with a damp cloth. Store the emptied iron horizontally on a stable surface with a cloth protecting the soleplate.
- When not in use, store the appliance in a safe, dry place, out of reach of children.
Self-cleaning:
- Set the temperature control to the maximum position, then press the self-clean button for about 1 minute. Steam will emit from within the iron to clean the steam compartment. We recommend using the self-cleaning function approximately once every two weeks.
Anti-calc:
- The anti-calc function filters certain minerals from the water to prevent lime-scale residue from building up inside the steam compartment. However if you live in a particularly hard water area, we recommend using bottled or distilled water.
WARNING: never pour vinegar or other liquid cleaners for eliminating calcium into water tank.
