These instructions are to be used with the following Jandy Replacement Kits:

installation, operation and safe use of this product. This information should
be given to the owner/operator of this equipment.

WARNING
FOR YOUR SAFETY – This product must be installed and serviced by a professional pool/spa service technician. The procedures in this instruction sheet must be followed exactly. Ensure that all electrical power to the system is turned off before approaching, inspecting or troubleshooting any leaking valves that may have caused other electrical devices in the surrounding area to get wet. Failure to do so could result in an electrical hazard which could result in death or serious injury due to electrical shock, and may also cause damage to property and/or operation will void the warranty.
CAUTION
ESD Precautions – Electrostatic discharge (ESD) events can harm electronic components inside your device. To prevent ESD damage, you should discharge static electricity from your body before you interact with any of your devices internal electronic components, such as a printed circuit board (PCB) or any connection terminals. You can also take the following steps to prevent damage from electrostatic discharge:
- When unpacking a static-sensitive component from its shipping carton, do not remove the component from the antistatic packing material until you are ready to install the component. Just before unwrapping the antistatic package, be sure to discharge static electricity from your body.
- When transporting a sensitive component, first place it in an antistatic container or packaging.

Before attempting installation or service, ensure that all power to the circuit supplying power to the system is disconnected or turned off at the circuit breaker.
All wiring must be done in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA-70. In Canada, the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA C22.1, must be followed. All applicable local installation codes and regulations must be followed.
This document gives instructions for replacing the Jandy Handheld Remote Control Transceiver J-Box assembly, gasket, and screws. These instructions must be followed exactly. Read through the instructions completely before starting the procedure. Please save these instructions.
To identify the parts that are included in your kit, refer to the parts list and exploded view located on page 2 of this manual. If any parts are missing from the kit please call your local Jandy distributor for assistance. For technical assistance please contact our Technical Service Department at 800-822-7933.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Remove Existing Transceiver J-Box Assembly

Turn off all power to the power center.
-
Open the door to the power center and remove the dead panel.
-
Disconnect the red four-pin connector from the red terminal bar located on the power center PCB (see Figure 1).

Disconnect the four conductor wire from the red four-pin connector. Set aside the red four-pin connector.

Carefully, pull the four conductor wire through the low voltage raceway and out of the power center.

On the transceiver J-Box, remove the existing two (2) screws that secure the J-Box to the mounting surface. Then, remove the transceiver J-Box from the mounting surface.
Install New Transceiver J-Box Assembly

Remove the new transceiver J-Box assembly from the packaging.

Remove the two (2) new mounting screws from the packaging.

Using the existing mounting holes and the new mounting screws, secure the new transceiver J-Box to the mounting surface.
NOTE: For optimal performance, ensure that the transceiver J-Box is mounted at least 6 feet above the ground, and 8 feet from brush-type motors such as blowers, which can cause interference. -
Feed the four conductor wire into the power center through the low voltage raceway.

Connect the four conductor wire to the red fourpin connector that was set aside in the Remove Existing Transceiver section.

Connect the red four-pin connector to the red terminal bar on the power center PCB.

Install the dead panel to the power center and restore all power.
Replace Existing Transceiver J-Box Hardware
WARNING
Risk of Electric Shock which can result in Serious Injury or Death. Before attempting installation or service, ensure that all power to the circuit supplying power to the system is disconnected or turned off at the circuit breaker.

NOTE: Use the following procedure only if replacing the transceiver J-Box hardware with Jandy part number R0443300.

Turn off all power to the power center.

Remove the existing two (2) screws that secure the cover to the transceiver J-Box (see Figure 2). Remove the cover.

Remove the existing gasket from the transceiver J-Box.
NOTE: The gasket may have adhered to the cover removed in Step 2. -
Remove the new gasket from the packaging. Place the gasket on the transceiver J-Box housing. When placing the gasket, ensure that the holes punched out in the gasket line up with the screw holes on the transceiver J-Box housing.

Remove the new cover from the packaging.

Remove the two (2) new screws from the packaging.

Using the new screws, secure the new cover to the transceiver J-Box housing.

Restore power to the system.
