Operating Modes

  • Pool or spa will heat only when the filtration system is running and the control has been turned ON for either POOL or SPA as indicated by a green LED above either POOL or SPA button.
  • aintain Temperature (Auto-Heat) will allow the heater to check the pool temperature periodically and override time clock settings, heating the pool or spa whenever the temperature falls below the set point. This feature on the heater requires additional field wiring and optional relay.

User Set-up Mode

ith the unit OFF, press and hold MENU for 7-10 seconds. Use UP / DOWN arrow keys to toggle between the functions. The MENU key toggles various options within the functions. Press POOL or SPA button to end Setup Mode and return to OFF.

User Set-up Functions

  1. Language Selection .
    Select English, Spanish or French.

  2. Temperature Scale.
    Select Fahrenheit or Celcius scale.

  3. Spa Timer .
    Provides automatic shut down of spa operation.

  4. Display Lighting.
    Controller lights can be set ON, OFF or to SHUT OFF after a two minute delay.

Optional Remote Set-up

An optional control can be installed remotely with 22AWG 4 conductor wire up to 300’. The additional control can be wired in a pool house or in the home. All wiring must be done in accordance with applicable local and National codes and requirements.

AquaLink RS 485 Communication (4-Wire Connection) AquaLink® RS/Remote

  • Wire as shown in Figure 2.
  • Enter Service Set-Up mode (see right). Choose Remote Thermostat (Service Setup Functions #3, see right). Display will show REMOTE on the second line.
  • Use UP/DOWN arrows to toggle: ‘OFF’, ‘HI-LO-COM’, or ‘REMOTE T-STAT’. For Aqualink RS connection choose ’REMOTE T-STAT’.
  • Press MENU to save selection. Press either POOL or SPA to exit Service Set-Up mode.
  • Press POOL or SPA button, then UP arrow key to raise spa temperature set point to maximum (104°F). Control will indicate either Pool or Spa enabled and flash REMOTE T-STAT ENABLED.

AquaLink RS 485

  • Wire as shown in Figure 3.
  • TO DISABLE. The heater control panel is now disabled.
  • To temporarily use the heater controls, press MENU and all functionality will return to the heater control.
  • To return functionality to the RS remote, press MENU for 5 seconds to enter the User Set-up mode and then enable the remote.

Service Set-up Mode

With the unit OFF, press MENU, and POOL button and SPA button simultaneously. Hold all three buttons for 7 – 10 seconds.
The UP / DOWN arrow keys toggle between the different functions. The MENU key toggles various options within the functions. The POOL & SPA keys end the Setup Mode and return to ‘OFF’.

  6. Load Defaults – Resets factory settings
  7. Air Temperature Calibration

  11. Last Fault

Maintain Temp Set-up

This feature requires additional field wiring and an optional relay. Follow directions from Service Set-up Mode (see above), Maintain Temperature (Service Set-Up Function 1). To operate in pool mode with the Maintain Heat feature, press POOL, then press  MENU, press the Down button until MAINTAIN POOL HEAT is displayed, then press the MENU button.
The green LED indicator lights and the unit will display SET: XXº. Change the temperature set point by pressing the UP or DOWN button until the desired set point is displayed. After 5 seconds of inactivity, the new set point is stored in memory.

Set Point Lockout

Make sure the control is in the ON mode (POOL or SPA), press and hold the Up and Down buttons for 7 – 10 seconds. The set point will be locked and the control will operate in the mode it was in when the Set Point Lockout occurred. If an attempt to change the set point is made while the control is in Set Point Lockout, the control will display SET POINT LOCKED. To unlock the Set Point Lockout, press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons for 7 – 10 seconds. The unit will display SET POINT UNLOCKED.

STEP 1
With the Control set to OFF, switch to the Service Setup menu by pressing MENU, then POOL button and SPA button, holding all three buttons simultaneously for 7 to 10 seconds.
