- VIVE Flow
- Face cushion

- USB Type-C cable
- Microfiber pouch
Setting up VIVE Flow
Use the Android smartphone app to set up your VIVE Flow. Download the app by
scanning the QR code or by going to the link above.
VIVE Flow also needs to connect to a wireless network that supports Wi-Fi®
802.11 a/ac/n (5GHz band) to get VR content and updates.
Powering on or off
VIVE Flow automatically turns on when plugged in to any power source such as a
power bank.
To turn off VIVE Flow, unplug it from the power source.
When not using VIVE Flow
Always place VIVE Flow inside the microfiber pouch when not in use to help
protect it from accidental scratches.
Important: When VIVE Flow is inside the microfiber pouch, do not put
anything else inside the pouch, such as the USB Type-C cable or nose rest.
Placing other items inside the pouch with VIVE Flow may scratch or damage its
exterior and lenses.
Connecting to a power source
Use the supplied USB Type-C cable to connect the USB Type-C receptacle cable
on VIVE Flow to a power source such as a power bank, power outlet, or your
phone.
Note: Not all power banks or phones can provide stable power to VIVE
Flow. If you see a message in VIVE Flow, change to another power source.
Wearing VIVE Flow
Open the frame of VIVE Flow, and then wear it as you would regular glasses.
Important:
- If you wear glasses, remove them first before putting on VIVE Flow.
- It is strongly recommended to take regular breaks. Stop using VIVE Flow if you feel any discomfort.
Getting a sharp view
VIVE Flow comes with a diopter dial to accommodate differences in vision for users. Adjust it to get a clear and crisp view.
Adjusting the diopter dial
-
Open the Tutorials app in the VR library and select the diopter dial lesson.
-
Remove the face cushion, and then attach the nose rest to VIVE Flow.
-
Wear VIVE Flow and then follow the onscreen instructions.
Tip: Set both diopter dials to 0, and then turn it slowly until the lines are clear. Once the lines are clear, stop turning the dial. Turning it more when the lines are already clear might cause eye strain. -
Once you’ve finished adjusting, remove the nose rest, and then re-attach the face cushion.
Phone as controller
Make sure the Android phone you used to set up VIVE Flow is nearby as you need it to act as a controller. You will need to tap an area or swipe on the phone screen to perform actions in VR such as selecting items or scrolling through a menu.
Cleaning VIVE Flow
- Dampen a cloth with a neutral and soft cleaner to wipe down the hard plastic of VIVE Flow you touch most.
Don’ts
- Don’t spray or pour liquid directly on VIVE Flow.
- Don’t use any liquids or cleaning solutions on the lenses.
- Don’t expose VIVE Flow to UV rays or direct sunlight.
- Don’t use volatile solvent such as alcohol to wipe the temple pads.
Cleaning the lenses
- Use a dry cleaning cloth, like the microfiber pouch, to wipe the lenses.
- Never use any kind of cleaning solution on the lenses.
- Wipe in a circular motion from the center to the outer edges of the lenses.
