Coated Insulation Boards Installation Guide
Econoboard Coated Insulation Boards are designed for use on a timber
substrate where they provide lateral stability. These boards have an extruded
polystyrene core with a fiber-reinforced cement coating on both sides. The
technical specifications of the product are as follows:
Board Size| Board Area| Thermal Conductivity| Compressive Strength| Water
Absorption
---|---|---|---|---
1.2 x 0.6 meters| 0.72 square meters| 0.033 W/MK| 300 kpa| 0.6% by volume
The product comes with the following accessories:
- 6015 Reinforcing Tape (100-meter roll)
- 6016 Zinc Fixing Washers (pack of 100)
- 6022 Fixing Washers and Screws (pack of 100)
Product Usage Instructions
- Measure your floor space and calculate how many boards you will need using the simple formula given in the manual.
- Cut the boards to size to suit your room layout. Use a sharp blade or wood saw for cutting, taking appropriate care when using sharp tools.
- Ensure your substrate is secure, clean, and free from dust and loose particles.
- Set out your cut boards onto the area in an offset brick pattern.
- Fix the boards in position using fixing screws (6020) and washers (6016) at 300mm centers (10 washers per board). Allow approximately 10 mechanical fixings per board, fixing in the middle of the board as well as around the perimeter. This will maximize the strength and lateral stability of the floor.
- For a high-quality finish, make sure all boards are flush and tape over the seams using Reinforcing Tape (6015). Allow 2 meters of tape per head.
