CLASSIFICATIONS

Recessed Luminaire Classification:@500mA(CA 135)

CA 135 – building insulation that can safely be continuously exposed to 135 °C allowed to abut the luminaire.

Definition : Can abut the luminaire but NOT cover.

Recessed Luminaire Classification: @700mA(NON IC}

NON-IC – A luminaire shall under no circumstances be covered or abutted with building insulation. Definition: Building insulation must not cover or come into contact with any part of the luminaire. For indoor use only. If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire is damaged, it shall be exclusively replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similar qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. This luminaire must be installed by a qualified Registered Electrician to prevent damage to the luminaire and maintain electrical safety. The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable; when the light source reaches its end of life the whole luminaire shall be replaced DO NOT INSTALL THROUGH JOIST, BEAM, RAFTER OR CEILING BATTEN

Halcyon Non IC rated luminaires are completely safe to install in sarked timber ceiling linings with a gauge of less than 20mm. Halcyon accepts no responsibility if the timber used is not treated correctly and dries out, crack or warps over time due to the constant low heat from the aforementioned “Non IC Rated” LED recessed lighting.
