Who is responsible to make sure my workplace is first aid compliant?
The PBCU (Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking) otherwise known as the employer.
What is a low risk worksite?
A workplace where workers are not exposed to hazards that could result in serious injury or illness. Examples; School’s, Library, Offices
What is a high risk worksite?
A workplace where workers are exposed to hazards that could result in serious injury or illness. Examples; Construction sites, tradies, manufacturing plants, mine sites
What size worksite am I required to have a first aid room setup?
Low risk site = 200+ persons
High risk site = 100+ persons
How often should I check my first aid kit? As a recommendation:
Low risk worksite – once every 6 months High risk worksite – at least once every 3 months
How many trained First Aiders do I need?
We recommend every workplace has at least one trained first aider. For larger workplaces you may need additional trained personnel.
