Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Network Video Recorders (NVRs). This guide is designed to familiarize you with the structure of the NVRs and describes how to deploy them in your network.

Description

Power Switch| Turn on/off the power supply.

Installation Requirements

Before the installation, make sure that you have the following conditions ready:

• Philips screwdriver, antistatic gloves or wrist straps.
• Standard-sized, 19″ wide rack with a minimum of 1U height available.
• Ethernet cables, HDMI cable and VGA cable.

Site Environment

• Store or use the product in a proper environment that meets the requirements, including and not limited to, temperature, humidity, dust, corrosive gases, electromagnetic radiation, etc.
• Make sure to keep the operating temperature at 0°C to 40°C and the relative humidity at 10%to 95%.
• Theinstallation site must be well-ventilated.
• Ensure the product s level and stable to avoid any hazardous conditions.

Precautions

• Unless otherwise specified, do not stack devices.

• Disconnect power before you install or move the device.
  Do not disconnect the power when the device is operating or shutting down.

• Do not attempt to service the product yourself. Contact a trained professional for maintenance.

Hard Disk Installation

1. Remove the cover from the NVR by loosening the screws on the back and side panels.
   

2. Align the screws with the holes of the hard disk.
   

3. Secure the disk to the corresponding position in the NVR with the screws.
   

4. Connect the hard disk data cables and power cables.
   NOTE: For NVR101-8C-8P/NVR101-8C, only a data cable and a power cable are needed.
   

5. Put the cover back in place and tighten the screws.

Mounting the NVR

Desk Mounting

1. Attach four rubber pads to the bottom.
2. Place the NVR on a stable desk.

NOTE: Some of the accessories for desk and rack mounting are purchased separately.
Rack Mounting

1. Secure the mounting brackets to both sides of the NVR with M4 screws.
   

2. Attach the NVR to the rack using matched screws and cage nuts.

Connecting the Camera

1. Connect the camera to the PoE interface of the NVR using an Ethernet cable.
   

2. Connect the network interface of the NVR to a switch using an Ethernet cable.

NVR101-8C/NVR102-9C/NVR102-16C

1. Connect the network interface of the NVR to a switch using an Ethernet cable.
   

2. Connect the camera to the switch using an Ethernet cable.

Connecting the Power

1. Plug one end of the power cord or power adapter into the NVR, and the other end into the local power source.
2. Turn on the power switch.

NOTE:

1. Make sure the cables are connected correctly and the device s grounded properly.
2. For NVR101-8C/NVR101-8C-8P,skip the second step.

Configuring the NVR

Local Operations

Step 1: Connect the NVR to a monitor via an HDMI or VGA cable.
Step 2: Connect the NVR to the network via an Ethernet cable.
Step 3: To add cameras with Quick Add, please follow the wizard to configure the system.
Step 4: Select the cameras to add to the discovered device list, and then click Add.

Step 5: To add cameras with Custom Add, please right click on the preview page, and click Menu > Camera > Camera.
Step 6: Click Custom Add, and enter the IP address and other required information.

Step 7: Check the camera status icon .
“If the icon lights up, it means the camera gets online successfully.
“If the status icon s grayed out, place your mouse cursor over the icon to view the cause.

NVR Login

Before you begin, check that:

• Your NVRis operating properly and connected to the network.
• The PCyou are using s installed with Chrome 45 o later.

Follow these steps to log in to your NVR through the Web:

1. 0pen your browser, input the IP address of your NVR in the address bar and then press Enter to open the login page. The default P is 192.168.1.30.
2. Enter the default username and password (admin/admin) and then click Login.

NOTE:

1. DHCP is enabled by default. If a DHCP server is used in your network, your NVR may be assigned an IP address needed for the login.
2. You may need to install a plug-in at your first login. Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation and then open the browser again to log in.
3. The default password is intended only for your first login. To ensure security, please change the password after your first login. You are strongly recommended to set a strong password of at least nine characters including all three elements: digits, letters and special characters.
