CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Unplug the dryer during the cleaning and maintenance procedures.

Emptying the water tank after each cycle (see Fig. A).

Pull the container out of the dryer and empty it into a sink or other suitable drain, then place it back. Do not use the dryer without having inserted the container back in place.

Cleaning the door filter after each cycle (see Fig. B).

Pull the filter out and clean it by removing the lint from the filter surface under running water or using a vacuum cleaner. For optimal performance, dry up all the filters before inserting them back in place. Do not use the dryer without having reinserted the filter in place.

Remove the door filter as described below:

  1. Open the door and pull upwards.
  2. Open the filter and remove lint from all its parts. Replace it correctly.

Ensure it is completely inserted flush with the dryer seal.

Cleaning the bottom filter when the relevant indicator turns on (see Fig. C).

Pull the filter out and remove the lint from its surface by washing it under running water or by using a vacuum cleaner. However, it is advisable to clean this filter after each cycle to optimize drying performance. Do not use the dryer without having inserted the filter in place first.

Remove the bottom filter as described below:

  1. Open the lower door.
  2. Take the handle and pull the lower filter out.
  3. Open the rear side of the filter and remove the lint from the inner surface of the mesh.
  4. Clean the bottom filter chamber avoiding direct contact with the leaves.
  5. Close the rear side of the lower filter and place it back by checking it is perfectly integrated into place.
  6. Lower the filter handle and close the bottom door.
  7. Make sure the air intake is free.

The filters are essential parts for drying. They are intended to collect the lint formed during the drying process. In the case of clogged filters, the airflow inside the dryer would be seriously affected: the drying times would be longer, the energy consumption would increase and the dryer could be damaged. If these procedures are not carried out properly, the dryer may not start.

TRANSPORT AND HANDLING

Never lift the dryer by holding it at the worktop.

  1. Unplug the dryer.
  2. Make sure that door and water tank are properly closed.
  3. If the drain hose is connected to your sewage system, fix the drain hose on the rear of the dryer again (see Installation Guide).

FAQ’s

Why does Hotpoint tumble dryer take so long to dry?****

If you find that your Hotpoint Condenser dryer is taking a long time to dry then this could be due to a build-up of fluff in the condenser. The condenser is found at the bottom of your appliance. Simply take this out by grasping the bottom cover by the ides and pull it off gently towards you.

How long does a Hotpoint dryer take to dry clothes?****

Ready to Wear – clean and dry your laundry in just 45 minutes, which is perfect for getting your favorite outfit ready at short notice. Fast Wash – wash a small load in just 30 minutes.

How long should a Hotpoint tumble dryer last?****

Tumble Dryers Should Last for Around 10 to 15 years.

Why does my Hotpoint tumble dryer keep turning off?****

A blockage of lint can cause a lot of problems and if your tumble dryer suddenly starts shutting off then you should check your dryer’s lint filter. Cleaning the filter is relatively simple but finding it might not be. So, consult your tumble dryer’s instructions manual if you’re struggling to find it.

What does a tumble dryer need to work?****

Practically all tumble dryers operate on the same general principle. An electric motor rotates the drum filled with wet clothes, simultaneously driving the fan which circulates hot air through the drum. A heater heats the air, and a thermostat maintains the correct temperature.

How much energy does a tumble dryer use?****

Dryers use around 1,800 – 5,000 watts, with 3,000 being the average. Since your bill will be calculated in kilowatts per hour (kWh), you need only do a simple calculation to figure out how much that actually costs you. For example, two loads of washing typically take 2 hours to dry.

Do tumble dryers completely dry clothes?****

With washer spin cycles, clothing is likely to come out damp rather than completely dry. Tumble dry cycles on a dryer use heat to remove water from your laundry unless the “No Heat” setting has been selected.

How often should you clean your tumble dryer?****

As well as regular maintenance on your tumble dryer, it’s advisable to give it a deep clean every few months. Turn off the power supply. Clean around the drum area and in the crevices, using a stainless-steel cleaner. Remove the lint filter, brushing off accumulated fluff with your fingers.

Do clothes dry faster when the dryer is full?****

Don’t overload the dryer. It’s a mistake to think stuffing the dryer will save you time—it actually has the opposite effect. Clothes need room to tumble so heated air can pass over and through each item, so keep your load to a minimum for maximum effectiveness.

How often do you need to empty a tumble dryer?****

For good maintenance, the condensation tumble dryer’s tank should be emptied after every cycle.

What is the capacity of a Hotpoint dryer?****

6.2 cu. ft

Why does my Hotpoint tumble dryer keep turning off?

A blockage of lint can cause a lot of problems and if your tumble dryer suddenly starts shutting off then you should check your dryer’s lint filter. Cleaning the filter is relatively simple but finding it might not be. So, consult your tumble dryer’s instructions manual if you’re struggling to find it.

Do tumble dryers stop automatically?

Most of our models offer sensor drying programs that identify the levels of moisture in the drum and automatically stop the load when the desired level of dryness is achieved.

How does a tumble dryer shrink clothes?

Most textiles and fabrics shrink when exposed to high heat, and tumble dryers use heat to remove moisture and dry your clothes. The other way tumble dryers work to dry your clothes is to rotate them. The tossing motion can cause fibers to constrict, thus shrinking your clothes.

How do I stop my Hotpoint from drying?

If you need to stop a dryer mid-flow, turn it to the last 10 minutes if possible so that it enters the controlled cooling down period. This is around 10 minutes where the heater is turned off but the drum and fan remain running to allow a degree of cooling down before stopping.
