Jandy 4738 Never Lube Two Way CPVC Valve
Product Information
The Valve Complete, Positive Seal, 4716 is a plumbing valve designed to control the flow of water in a pool or spa system. It has an internal valve assembly that must be removed before gluing the valve body to pipe fittings, and care should be taken to ensure that no glue enters the valve body beyond ports. The valve has a shut off stop, and the valve handle includes a lock knob that can be loosened to turn the handle and then tightened down finger tight to secure the handle in place.
The OFF area on the indicator represents the exact position of the internal valve diverter seal. Protruding pins located on the valve cover will stop the diverter in the complete port shut-off position. It is important to ensure that the word INLET on the valve cover is over the incoming flow port. The valve housing is not available as a separate part, so to replace the valve housing, you must replace the entire valve.
Product Usage Instructions
- Remove the internal valve assembly from the valve body before gluing it to the pipe fittings.
- Make sure that no glue enters the valve body beyond the ports.
- Position the valve body with the word INLET on the valve cover over the incoming flow port.
- Use the lock knob to loosen and turn the valve handle to the desired position.
- To secure the handle, turn the lock knob down finger tight.
- Ensure that the OFF area on the indicator represents the exact position of the internal valve diverter seal.
- When shutting off the flow of water, make sure that the protruding pins on the valve cover stop the diverter in the complete port shut-off position.
- Discard the Pipe Plug P-18 that comes with Item 7 (Part 4720) as it is not needed for this valve.
- If the valve housing needs to be replaced, the entire valve must be replaced as the housing is not available as a separate part.

and qualified in pool equipment by the jurisdiction in which the product will
be installed where such state or local requirements exist. The maintainer must
be a professional with sufficient experience in pool equipment installation
and maintenance so that all of the instructions in this manual can be followed
exactly. Before installing this product, read and follow all warning notices

PLUMBING
One valve is designed for both 2″ and 2½” pipe. 2″ pipe slip fits into valve ports. 2½” pipe is joined using a 2½” pipe coupler. 45° or 90° fitting.
Internal valve assembly must be removed before the gluing valve body to pipe fittings. Make certain no glue enters the valve body beyond ports.
WELD-ON® CPVC GRAY IS RECOMMENDED.
VALVE HANDLE USE
- Lock Knob – Loosen the lock knob to turn the handle. To secure the handle, turn the knob down finger tight.
- Off Indicator – The OFF area on the indicator represents the exact position of the internal valve diverter seal.
- Handle Stops – Protruding pins located on the valve cover will stop the diverter in the complete port shut-off position. Be sure the word “INLET” on the valve cover is over the incoming flow port. word “INLET” on the valve cover is over the incoming flow port.

NOTE
The valve housing is not available as a separate part. To replace the valve
housing, you must replace the entire valve.
Item #7. Diverter Assembly Complete with Knob
NOTE
Item 7 (Part 4720) includes a Pipe Plug P-18, but you can discard it, because
you do not need it with this valve.
